Best wagon?

It's pretty rare to hear a wagon around these forums (In my own experience :P) so I'd like to see what wagon has the best performance around a track :D
Now I'm not expecting any McLaren F1 killer or anything but something that definitely doesn't have average performance. When saying the car try to also say what class (ie. 450PP class) just so we know :)
Thanks in advance :)

I remember having decent luck with the 2001 RS4 beat down a bit in the 450PP range in the GT5 days. The hardest part was always getting it to be more lively when wailing on it instead of just plowing everywhere, because it had power to spare and wasn't too heavy.

Few come close to audi for this combination:

All wheel drive
Wagon
v10 power
Smokin modern classy design
Did i say V10 from a Lambo? ( or is that the other around? )

Personnally, i am not one who gonna complaint that Audi is in such dilemna...

cant imagine the Mitsubishi Legnum to be good since it has 276 hp but barely over 400 pp you can try the 01 RS4 ,Toyota Caldina, or maybe an Impreza wagon.

You can make the Camino look like a wagon by attaching the truck cap to it. Honestly, I was surprised by how powerful it is.

That car is a lot of fun. We ran a championship for it, tuning prohibited so the cars wallowed round corners with lots of body roll and the standard two speed gearbox made the timing of the gearchange critical to good lap times - good close racing, great fun and plenty powerful enough if you use tyres that aren't too grippy.

I hosted some races for Wagons on GT5 and I remember the Nissan Stagea and Subaru producing the best lap times. The Audi is very fast, but heavy and had to be detuned and ballasted to race against the other wagons.

I forget what Mercedes but it was one of the R230s is a killer at 600pp with over 1000hp but I haven't tried it recently.

Range Rover Evoque in the rain masters event is my second fastest car. I haven't been able to get the RS6 Avant to do as well yet. The Evoque may not be considered a wagon though.

Evoque? Isn't that an SUV?

To answer the OP's question, the Audi RS 6 Avant is the best wagon in the game. Enough said. Having all upgrades, it's a complete monster when properly tuned.

If you want to look at other wagons, try the Subaru Impreza or the Nissan Stagea variations (I recommend the Stagea 260RS Autech version). There's also the Toyota Caldina, if you want something a bit boring. :P

The "Best wagon" doesn't have to have over 1000bhp. It is really a question which can be answered differently depending on the persons preference.

I didn't say it had to have over 1000bhp. The reason why I think it's the best is because it can handle said 1000bhp just fine without much of a problem, and that is itself is remarkable for a sports wagon (at least in GT6). Sure there might be some understeer but that's understood because, being a wagon, it has quite a long wheelbase. And you have to remind yourself that, in essence, this vehicle is a sports WAGON, not a supercar.

You should try the Stagea 260RS and the Toyota Caldina, if you could. I'm curious to see how the Caldina fares compared to the others.

The non-sedan Impreza's are all considered to be wagons, despite looking like regular hatchbacks.

I beg to differ.

Hmm, the Airtrek is an interesting one, since it's a crossover. Buuuut it's a crossover between an SUV and supposedly a wagon, so I guess that counts.

Oh damn, I thought about the Caldina but completely forgot about the Altezza wagon with the 2JZ. Shame on me :ouch:

I was always a fan of the older Audi RS6, both the sedan and the wagon. I had an awesome drag tune for it on GT5, haven't done any drag tuning with it on GT6 because of the lack of a test course 1/4 mile run.

The Nissan Stagea 260RS is another one I like.

I had high hopes for the Mitsubishi Legnum VR4 but the power curve totally kills performance beyond second gear. Even when fully tuned.

The Legnum is such garbage. Granted, it's half a second faster than the Galant VR-4 at Mid-Field, but that's not saying much. The Stagea's aren't much better either, but at least they have the GT-R's RB motor and can take insane amounts of boost.
