better graphic for gt6

In a racing game you really can't go that mad on the tracks textures and design because it puts such a demand on the game and it's performance. Just look at Project CARS, the cars look amazing but the tracks will never match because they are so big and need so much detail. If you tried to create a track with the detail and textures seen in some of those videos it wouldn't perform at all. They can do it in FPS because quite simply you don't have to load anything quickly. Trying to drive a car at speed through something that detailed wouldn't work.

But I do like how you say they should just "use these graphics" as if it's that easy.

For a racing game that's taking things a bit too far. Tracks should look decent, but not to that detail.

I could care less about plants/trees around the track. What I would like more of is spectators, tents, etc to liven up the races and actually make it feel like a race day. (Like Nurburgring 24h)

I dont think there is anything wrong with the graphics of gt5. I rather they upgrade all cars to premium and work on getting better performance for more cars on track.

*Couldn't care less.

I'm with the majority of these people, I'd rather see and feel the notorious bumps on the world circuits, and if your busy looking for bear's and college kids chasing tail in the forest then this isn't the game for you,

It's a racing game, not a landscaping simulator.

Made my day :D

Meh.

There are people on here with MUCH worse grammar, go chase after them.

Well... i know my english is bad.

I disagree. The weather effect is bad. The tracks have to look a little bit better.

All cars and tracks should have the same quality.

Can't say I'm worried about the graphics. PD has been consistently excellent in that aspect.

But judging by your OP, you don't quite get how "graphics" work. Learn a bit about how games are made, and you'll quickly realize why the examples you posted are silly. You can't just "use these graphics". Not to mention we already have threads that explain in detail why some of these examples you posted can't be used (it's also common sense).

Anyway, it depends on which console GT6 ends up on.

I think the detailing of trees, etc. on the newer tracks is more than enough for a racing game, the earlier tracks with obvious 2D trees and poor textures do look hideous especially when trying to snap pictures, obviously when racing you don't really notice it that much apart from an obvious overall quality contrast compared with the newer tracks which I still find annoying.

One of the things that does need improvement though is the spectators close to the track, they really are nothing more than a bunch of pixels, literally.
The one thing they should bring back from GT4 is the moving crowd on the Grand Canyon rally track (and some others?) taking photos, that was a cool innovation and added something to the rally experience as a whole.

They'd be better off trying to reduce the amount of digital noise, frame drops, and improve light / contrast sync between the various courses.

I dont really look at the landscape when im driving.

But there is one thing now that I think about it more probably smoke effects need work.

All graphical improvements are welcome. Id rather see better "night"graphics and weather effects. Focus on sound, car and track is more important than nice trees. But if they can do it all then just do it!

I think the car lighting can use some beefing up in general.

It felt like they spent too much time trying to make the money shots in Photo Travel mode and not enough in the actual gameplay.

To be honest I think getting rid of photo travel would give PD a lot more focus for improving gameplay graphics.

The PS3 has a limit. The PS3 can show a higher polygone car in photo travel. They shouldn't get rid of photo travel, because it doesn't affect the gameplay in my opinion.

PD made cars with a higher polygone count for Photo travel plus future GT games on a more powerful hardware.

Is GT5 already just Beautiful on The Nurburgring 24h in sunrise???

Like if PD decided to put more effort in the "Landscaping" Textures as Props on the track would GT6 have less performance on Outdated systems...

There are some tracks, like the Laguna Seca, that look outdated and need beefing up in general. Other than that though, I don't see very many problems, graphical-wise.

The whole game should be more lively overall i think. Sometimes it's quite sterile.

For me.. they have to improve only a few things (in GT6 on PS3 theory):
- Improve some of the premium models, that are in GT5 (more polygons in some places and of course no more standards)
- Bring shadow resolution and quality (accuracy) to the GT5:P level
- Full resolution smoke (and other transparent textures), at least in photo mode
- Improve performance

I'm pretty sure it all can be done on PS3 (maybe with use FXAA or MLAA on SPE's instead of classic AA methods).
