Biggest "I'm an idiot" thing you've done in GT6

My 2 favourite "DOH!" moments:

- Buying the GT Concept for Like The Wind only to find you can't adjust the transmission (my reason for buying it)...stupid electric cars
- Doing an Arcade Time Trial as part of the WRS. Ford Focus St '13@Brands Hatch Indy, I used the tune someone else had posted and was 2 seconds a lap quicker and was about to congratulate the person on being the best tuner ever...decided to check the options for some reason and realised I had forgotten to set SRF to Off after using it in a seasonal!! 🤬

Took my 15th anniversary edition into the classic compact championship race first lap on London circuit I managed to roll the car 6 times after slipping out and hitting the wall going to fast around the corner. But I still managed to win the race lol.

A few weeks ago I did some offline racing, to collect some credits for new racing cars. I decided to do some online races and was ready to start an lupo race on the nordschleife (always fun to do).

After the first time-split I was on fifth place and had good chance to climb up to podium. Well, if you're used to the offline racing and can pause the game any moment, I thought this was the right moment to do a small trip to the bathroom (and back).

No podium for me :ouch:

Read too many complaints at GT Planet when I could have been racing. ;)

Which is true, but more seriously, I got carried away spending credits upgrading a beloved car early in my "career," and ran the account almost dry. An impulse shopping day that got out of hand, and grinding the credits back up when the prizes were less than 8,000 Cr was a chore. D'OH.

After completing the game (2 weeks after release), i sold almost all the won cars to get nailed by PD's upcoming seasonals including them.

Edit by Moderator: Do not by pass the swear filter. No excuses.

I have done a d'oh moment recently. I entered a drift trail online in my c63 with 1000hp+, enough to get the tail out right......well thats what i thought til i only got 200, last corner i was like wtf so got the menu up and tcs was on 5 with asd on. I laughed and wondered why host never disabled them in a drift room.

During the Red Bull X2014 Standard championship race at Trial Mountain i entered the last corner in first place, turned in too late, popped the car up on two wheels and rolled it. The car kept on rolling and rolling towards the finish line and I could see the position indicator go from 1 to 5 by the time I rolled across the line. Pretty stupid but pretty funny all the same.

I did almost exactly the same thing except I stopped on my roof on the finish line.

By the time I was the right way up again (and further back down the track away from the line) I was 3rd from last. I didn't have the heart to drive the 3 metres left to the line to finish the race so I waited for the other cars to finish moments later and turned my PS3 off.

Apart from that, put me down as another victim of the chassis reinforcement ruining a car. Since I don't know how to tune a car accordingly I just ended up buying the car again and getting the credits back via the Red Bull championships. :dopey:

I race with a wheel but use the DS3 to select tires/fuel etc. in pit stops.

So there I was in second place in an online race doing well and I thought I'll pit at the end of this lap. So, without looking properly, I grabbed my DS3 to ready it and pressed the PS button by accident. The screen cut to the PS3 XMB... The car, now without anyone steering it, went out of control, hit the barrier at the upcoming bend spun twice and came to a halt.
I sat and watched while a few cars sped past - and said a few choice words!

Sole exception: Like The Wind at SSRX. Even the Veyrons and FXXs can't touch you if you don't wipe out on the curves.

I've even managed to win at SSR7 in that thing. You just have to use the parking brake on the hairpin
You can win the Like the Wind Indy Superspeedway with it with the rite setup... Also completes my car from every decade collection!!!:D

Doing the X2014 Standard championship, winning four races with 100 points difference, and then quitting at the last race trying to save time. Needless to say, I quit the championship and won no championship reward.

The exact same happened here... (though maybe on a different championship)

So, I was doing the 24 Minutes of Nurburgring with my dear R390 Road Car, and at the end of lap 2, I put on Intermediate Tires. There was no rain 1 minute later, and my tires were getting cold. At the Klosteral turn, I began spinning out, and at the Esbach turn, I was finally in 2nd after the McLaren F1 GTR overtook me. If I finished, I may have been in 16th. :(

Bought an S13 as my first FR car when let off the reigns after the intro stages in the hopes of being able to turn it into a race car. S13's don't make good race cars.....

I don't really know if this is me being an idiot but, The Toyota Aqua is an amazing sounding car for having a CVT, I feel if it had a real transmission it would be an amazing car, like a Prius on steroids with the heart of a sports car. So my stupidity, is calling it one of my favorite cars of GT6

Connecting my wheel and shifter before an update. Costed me a trip to 'File System Analysis Land'. :ouch:
Can you elaborate? As my biggest idiot moment may well be taking my wheel back to the store to get a replacement

Can you elaborate?
Well, I connect my wheel and shifter to my PS3. There was an update, and for some reason having my wheel and shifter connected made the system crash, which resulted in the File System scan-thingie. 👍

Oh right. In that case, my wheel just died :D.

With that in mind, my biggest idiot moment would be letting the cat (Kimi) in the same room as me when I play. He has a tendency to try and sit on my lap whilst I am using the wheel and then has the cheek to attack me when I accidentally squash him during enthusiastic cornering

Maximizing the negative camber, spring rates, and dampers thinking it'd handle better

(That was in GT5 tho)

First race online and I was using a manual transmission. I started honking the horn for some laughs and when the race started, I was in reverse. :dunce: I told the longer version of this story in the "does anyone actually use the horn" thread.
