It's still the same. 1 car per account per day. Like I said the only good it does for a person of level 19 or higher is to get those really expensive cars that would normally take 10+ hours of grinding to earn. I recently got a Peugeot 908 and that car is like 5,000,000 I think. I save myself a lot of time. But weigh your choices. It wouldn't be worth it to try for an hour just the buy a Chevy ZR1 when it only costs 180,000ish and you could just be playing and also earning exp!

Agreed. I used it for the 908 as well. If I use it again, it will be for the 67' Mark IV or the 67' 330 P4 so I can actually enter the classic race. lol

Not for nothing... I paid Over $100 out of my own pocket... all I wanted to do was take pictures of cars, and drive on tracks that I wanted to drive on.

I didn't want to spend a week unlocking everything... The restrictions that the game puts on the owner, are Communist...

That's like telling me I can only drink coffee between the hours of 4am and 5am... but I can BUY coffee at any time, once I turn 18 years old, and only if I have $1000 for a cup...

Honestly, 1000+ cars, I can't afford the ones I want to drive, I don't have my favorite track unlocked, My photo mode is limited to only having full control when taking pictures of PREMIUM cars...

That Is a lot of restrictions... so If you think I am going to sit back and act like a school child, waiting for recess to enjoy my day... you can be sure that I am going to figure out a way I don't play your game by your rules... or I just don't play your game.

Another well said post now we should just stop trying. There have been great arguments for it and no one has came up with a good rebuttal.

Anyways I like 1989, there are quite a few sweet cars in that year

check this out for looking up good years. Press ctrl+ f and search for year.

and you tell me how many hours you need to spend on saving money for cars like Audi R8 LMS, Corvettte ZR1, SLR McLaren, minolta C88, 908, C9, 787B ect.? I am not gonna waste my time running circle making left turn all day just trying to save some money for cars that you probably gonna drive no more than 2 times. GT5 has one of the worst reward system ever made as everyone has already experienced when they've achieved lv20 and beyond. Spending days to save money for multiple multi-million dollar cars or using the birthday trick in few hours? I am sticking with the trick, because i would get more fun later on. My "30 mins" means "couple of hours or days" for you, got it?

for those whiners who do not want to use birthday trick, we paid same amount of money on GT5, we get to choose the way we want to enjoy the game. So, get over with it, open your mind, enjoy your game, stop bitching.

Six months from now, a year from now, I'll be still getting rewards for racing. (I don't call it grinding, I like to race with less powerfull cars every time to improve driving skill, and to learn the tracks). So I'm realy enjoying those hours every day!

I realy don't care that I won't have the X1 a few weeks after buying the game. Once everything is unlocked, the game will lose most if not all attraction to me.

Those super expensive cars will one day be mine, when that is doesn't bother me, I've done all A spec races gold up to the endurance level, without having to buy to many cars, with what you win from all the different events, you should be able to win easy.

I did get 5 chromeline cars and a stealth car with my Ce preorder, and I also played 'take it to the track' for the extra car, even the birthday car I will enjoy and use, but one is enough, and I'll wait till the end of august. But creating fake accounts to recieve cars, I'll never go there.

You enjoy your game the way you want, my prediction is that 90% of the birthday glitchers will dissapear here anyway after the next big ps3 title comes out.

If you follow all the rules, you're missing all the fun! ;)

GT should have a dedicated Trading feature... 1 gift per day? Santa won't be happy with that...

HAHA i think it's kind of funny because this glitch only works propperly for the US, or at least not for us europeans. There is no european country that does support subaccounts so all cars from 1992 untill today are not accessible through this glitch.

You will never create a fake account for free cars just like i will never sit there running circles all day trying to save money for cars like F1. There is no right or wrong way of enjoying games as you have already said in your little essay.

This thread is ONLY for people who are enjoying the game without sitting there all day just trying to save money, certainly it's not for debating who's right or wrong. If you have different ways of enjoying this game, go on, I am not interested in how you would enjoy this game, that's none of my business, just like it's really none of you guys business how we enjoy the game this way.

Until GT6 comes out from now, i will be sitting in front of my G27 every now and then, racing with my friends online, skipping the times we would have wasted on saving money for cars.

No it didn't. Everyone could just make a PSN acc e.g. in Hong Kong which also has sub-accounts and use them with a PAL PS3/game in Europe.

Yes that's kind of true, however you still need a credit card to validate the subaccount.

hahaha just found out. If you use a multi tab browser and you go to the psn homepage and make a main acc in the usa and you don't complete the process. When you then open a new tap go again to the psn homepage then the main/sub acc function is activated for every country *gg* lol. And the best thing is you just need a "valid" e-mail to be sent a code to activate the subacc so no need for a credit card

Nope you don't need CC information. None at all for subaccount. Even the e-mail for the sub can be fake, it's only needed to log in. Only for the master account one valid e-mail address is needed, nothing more.

I tried that in the beginning and it was no problem to add a main account in the usa. Then i wanted to add a sub account and psn asked me for my credit card information. maybe that was because i did that on the pc, because my bob is just racing the 4 hours endurance race.

However i don't mind anymore because now I can add subaccounts in Austria/Germany which was not possible before.

I kind of see the point of those who are complaining, but I'm going to do it anyway, because I refuse to spend hour after hour doing races that I've already got gold in. If you got points for doing fun things like online racing, or 2 player split screen then I probably wouldn't do it. But there is no way I am going to do lap, after lap, after lap x100 of 'Like the Wind' just to have a chance of getting the cars that I've already paid £40 for.

I'm referring to Hong Kong here. Don't know about USA psn.

For everyone that still have probs how to make an account for birthdates above 1992 and without a cc and living in EU. Here is how it works.
Make a new Hong Kong account with a birthdate below 1992. This will be automatically a master account. I did it on PC, here you need two valid email address or at least an address you can access.
After creating this acc start making the second 'child' with birthday date 2010 or so, alos for Hong Kong. During the process it will ask for a master account and NO CC info by the way.
Just type in the right account info and the system will set up a new fresh acc for your 'fake children'. Hurray, here we go, you are just a father or mother of a 'fake child'.
Make the best out of it.

This birthday thing kinda sucks though....It has greatly inflated the GT trading economy and has severely reduced the value of almost every car!

THe way a person play a game, tells a lot about her/his personality.

Yes it tells you that there are people who have a real live and not the time to grind for more than 12 hours to pay 20 million credits for a car. If you have the time it's fine, but why should maybe a father with a wife and children and one maybe two jobs spend 12 hours of his laisure time to just drive circles? I can't beliefe that anyone does like/love/enjoy doing that.

On that point you are really right. Doing this glitch/bug or using that feature of the game to enrich oneself is cheating, but as i said above it's the only realistic chance for some people to get some cars and as long as they just do it for themselves and don't trade the cars it's fine with me and actually it's only their problem if they do it or not.

Can someone give me a quick run-down of this tactic. Like a brief how to?

I've tried to trade for a 787B for a few days now to no avail. I need it to beat a race...I'm quite a few credits away from buying it, I'd say a good 2.5 hrs.

Step1
Make a main account (if you are from the us and have a cc make it there if not make one in Hong Kong) with a valid e-mail. Use the year of the car as your year of birth (eg 11.12.1967) and the acctual day and month

Step 2
Make a sub account if you want a car which is less than 18 years old (with main acc max 1992) (eg. 11.12.2010) and the acctual day and month

Step 3
Make a new user at your ps3 and enter the acc datas from the crated account

Step 4
Start the game and see what car you get. if you like it send it to your real account. if not either quit the game before it saves or delete the savegame and do it again.

Step5
If you have send the car delete the user at the ps3 and set up new sub/main account depending on the year of the car.

Step6
DO NOT trade the car with other users as this is ruining the game, use it ONLY for yourself

Hahahaha, priceless. Yes. The way people play GT5 is an indicator of their attitude towards life.
Wait, I actually agree. If there is something that will waste a lot of my time for little reward, I will find a away around it.

The entertainment value of the people who are all butthurt about this exploit makes me wonder. Since everyone has equal access to the exploit and the people whining are whining because we have the cars...it seems more out of jealousy rather than a smug sense of self accomplishment. As if you were proud of the fact that you did the Indy race 32944 times to get some rare car, you would brag about it instead of whine...just something to think about.

Thanks.

And don't worry this 787B is going no where. I'm going to drive the **** out of it until the wheels fall off.

It doesn't seem to work. I've just done all this, and I'm not getting any gift cars. It says the server is currently undergoing maintenance. Maybe they are trying to stop this.

I'm confused about how the glitch effects the economy.

I could understand it if there was some sort of online car sales lot, like Forza has... then it would be an issue... but because everyone now has a chapparal 2D, nobody will want to trade you for yours? point taken.

First of all, why are you trying to trade your cars... are you looking for an easy solution to not having a specific car that you want, and you are not interested in Grinding to get it?

You now are faced with the ability to abuse the system, rather than sit around for a few months waiting for someone to trade you, or drive 99 laps on an oval track...

I for one, am smart, and I always look for the SMARTEST option. If one is not available, I figure out how to make a new option, rather than choose between 2 I create a third and fourth option.

On some level, I understand your pain... But following even the logic of Polyphony Digital, THEY give you free cars for buying limited edition, they give you the ability to import cars from GTPSP, and they even talked about allowing our progress from GT5P into GT5 in some form.

If these were not valid enough reasons to think I should be richer, or have more cars when I started the game, after putting in work on the other 2 games, forgive me for being bitter.

1000+ cars... the exploit only works on around 400 of them, 340-350 of them are standards... so it hardly RUINS the game.

I for one would have been completely happy with the game, if you could buy a car based on license, instead of based on playtime.

It don't care that the used car lot changes every day, but it does bother me that I have to save ALL my money, just in case my 1970 Charger R/T appears in the used car lot... the only thing that makes me madder, is that I might have to be a higher level to buy it... meaning no Charger.

Thinking about the fact that when I buy the car in the used lot, it is already ruined, and will cost 500,000 to rebuild it, vs. using the birthday exploit to receive a brand new one with ZERO miles... I choose the latter.

Well if there are 30 cars made in one year and you hate everyone of them except one the chances are pretty high that you have to try more often. Just delete the savegame and try once more.

Yes it tells you that there are people who have a real live and not the time to grind for more than 12 hours to pay 20 million credits for a car.

I agree with this part, but there are a few people who are abusing this thing so much that they're basically wasting the same amount of time doing it as they would be just racing.

This birthday thing kinda sucks though....It has greatly inflated the GT trading economy and has severely reduced the value of almost every car!

ROFL at devaluing the FAKE economy. What did you people think would happen if this exploit hadn't come about? You'd grind your way to a 330P4 or Bertone and people would offer up their first born and virgins would show up on your doorstep for it?
On the other hand, if you think other people having the car by the exploit is somehow devaluing the enjoyment of the one in your garage then, well...news flash, no one cares.

This allows for people to get those cars at a fraction of the cost and trade around extras to enjoy the game more. Why people make this crap personal is beyond me, but ever so entertaining.
