Finally went to a car event to try panning for the first time... and my first thoughts are... Its not easy When cars are whizzing by at 200+ kph on the straight its a whole different ball game then shooting cars from the window... Anyway.. here's a little preview. The rest of the shots will be up in the coming days. Comments, remarks and tips are welcome! 👍

Been ages ago since I 've been at Zandvoort. Love it to drive there, and love it to be on the side and taking pics of some action.

And after this event I will be attending more events at Zandvoort... DTM and Formula 3 come to mind. Was my first panning experience and I really enjoyed it... You can see in the string of pics that I got the hang of it more towards the end of my run imo...

No problemo mate,

Been busy with work, and moved on a bit with some other games I play with my bro and sister. I've been playing GT5 a bit less therefore. And even less online. Seems I can't find the good clean racer lobbys, like in the good old GT5p times.

But back on topic. I've been busy with photography a long time , but panning shots still giving me headache...
When I saw your's the speed is still in there. And that's what I am missing from my panning pics often.

Last weekend I went to the Zoo, since my girlfriend was watching two of her colleagues children and what better place to take them than the Zoo This worked out great because it gave me an opportunity to shoot some animals. So I whipped out the long glass and went to work... Next couple of updates will be from this trip to the Zoo.

The last 2 pages are fantastic mate, I really like the abstract stuff and the car sets are great. I love the croc and lion shots 👍

^ Hey Neal! How have you been? Its actually been a while since I've talked to you in general on GTP. Hope all is well Thanks for the comments, nice that you like the shot of the croc. I was particularly proud of that one because of the circumstances it was taken in (handheld, low light, low shutter speed) and how it turned out. I was in a bit of a rut with shooting a few weeks back, but I've been on the rise again lately. Still learning a lot of course as well... 👍

Indeed, it has been a while. I'm all good mate, the kids are keeping me busy so much so that I hardly pick my camera up these days. We'll have to change the dates on some of the baby pics of sprog 1 to pretend they're of sprog 2 some he doesn't get upset when he's older How are things with you?

It's good when you try a difficult shot and you pull it off, it really gives you the motivation to keep trying new things.

Kids are definitely a time consumer... Luckily my GF was entertaining her colleague's kiddies while I was trying to get shots of the animals. As for me all is well at the moment. Nothing to complain except that fall is here which means rain, rain and more rain. But I'm sure you know about that as well living in the UK. Been playing GT5 on and off... later this week BF3 and been playing with the camera a lot as you can see. Life is just moving along smoothly at the moment.

Ohhhh, I comment on your pics

I like the 2 batches of animals shots.
Really like the dof of the happy feet pic.
On processing the raw, I maybe process 1% of my pictures. My HDD are screaming under the weight of the raws and tiffs. Rofl
Critics points : well hard as I am a noob to photography.

Beautiful bokeh on the Heron shot, and I like the mood in the Lion shot. 2nd butterfly is great also.
