yea I like it too. The dodgy brakes almost make it more fun to drive, if it had brakes like the mclaren f1 it would be very easy to drive it quickly, now it takes a bit of effort to get a quick laptime.
 
Took me an hour to get golds in Orange so I'm now an M5 owner too.

Been running at Fuji, love the track, and doing back to back runs with the Viper and AMG55, now to the Bimmer...well it stonks along alright, reaching 275 at the end of the straight, slightly faster than the Viper, overall it feels great, but the AMG is easier to drive quickly (all aids off)

Now back to 5th Gear 8pm Lifestyle Channel

ps what are the other Gold cars? or should I just use search function :crazy:
 
On the subject of electromagnetic braking, there is a limit to how much a truck can do it as there is nowhere for the electric current to go. On a train, it just goes to the rails.

Ehmm, this is very useful if you are interrested in trains. But according from what I have heard, trucks use airbrakes to slow down. Or maybe the engine break. Trucks might not use diskbrakes, but the system is still based on frictionbraking.

There's no way to stop a 38-ton truck with only a friction system. Whatever their size, the braking disk and pads would overheat and lose all of their braking capacity. As far as I remember my physics courses, they use a combination of friction and electromagnetic systems.

Anyway, back to the BMW M5 Concept, this is to me the best of all 5 bonus cars but its braking performance is out of proportion with its enormous torque. Perfect for straight lines but a hell on Citta di Aria. I'll keep it for Fuji "shortcut" track only.

Just got GT4 Prologue, and did a few google searchs to find there was an M5 hidden away in the game, fantastic i thought. How to get?? found myslef on this site to read "get all gold on Orange test"!! WT***** i am a good gamer but GT game salways fox me on test, either that or i was not to botherd about the gold getting. But i wanted the M5 such a sweet car. Last night i sat down, after putting the baby to sleep, on went the PS2 and M5 here we come. first test Gold after 3 tries, second test Gold after 1 and a half hours!!! i was not happy stick on 19.812 for ages 🤬 :banghead: . after a long pause we finaly past that stage :lol: , rest of the Orange golds are obatined within 2 tries. M5 is mine all mine.

:bowdown: What a machine, fanbloodytastic. must say thanks for tip on getting this beast. now onto the rest.

- Just won the M5 myself this weekend! - its pretty good, but i'm always underwelmed by any of the 'stock' vehicles after running any of the 'race' cars.
 
The M5 also has seven gears but it's fast enough that you only need 6! Should be good for the high speed runs though in GT4. Maybe the 7th gear will just be a crusing jobbie and 6th will be the gear where maximum speed is reached. Only time will tell.

No point having 7 gears in GT4P though... I ran out of space on the New York and Fuji Speedway tracks.
 
got the M5 and very happy :-) I also bought a Logitect Froce feedback wheel and after a short while this really made a difference, I have found the tests easier to pass and have a rake of golds chalked up.
any how back to work untill i cam scramble home in my Nissan Primera (wishing it was an M5) so I can complete the game
 
I always thought license tests were difficult in GT games but the prologue ones i thought were a very small amount easier than previous games. Maybe i'm just more experienced, i don't know, and i've managed to rack up 5 golds without even trying for them. I think, with effort and determination, all gold on orange should hopefully be within my grasp. I'm very doubtful of the purple license though.

This seems verrrrrrrryy off topic to me. Now excuse me, i have to drop some friends off at the pool, deliver a brown anaconda with Captain Crusty and stretch my pole hole.

How often do you use "Pole Hole"? Do your friends s****** at you when you do? Can I suggest you don't use it when talking to ladies?
