Not that.. BMW made the XM? X6? MB put out their crossover that has the same slope back thing. Many other manufacturers make crossovers that don't have that sloped back. But MB's is nearly identical to the BMW.
BMW now getting into the big covered wagon category. It doesn't look like a Navigator or Land cruiser or Range Rover. It looks like the Mercedes in the pic I posted.

What, so a similar roof line makes vehicles look like each other? That's just a lazy critique - this whole "X looks like Y" crap that comes with every new car release these days is tedious and stupid. It's like people want to say something about a car design, have nothing useful to say, and then blurt out the least complicated sentence they can afterwards. It's like me saying I look like Vin Diesel because we have a similar hair cut.

You're taking this way too much to heart. I posted it looks like the Mercedes. I know you love BMW's. It was an observation. Not my usual jokes.
Had I posted it looks ugly, stupid, what were BMW thinking. Things like that, is not the same as it bringing to my mind, the MB design. It's not lazy critique. I could say it's lazy design on BMW's part. That's not what my view is.
Renault came out with the Megane that had the flat hatch glass with rounded boot. Looked like nothing in its class. Was a design language for theit minivan as well. I'm not talking bout all that with this BMW.
Should I say to a woman that has a certain hair style like Halle Berry, in the early 1990s, "Wow! You look like Halle Berry!"? Or, should I say to her, "I've seen Roseanne Barr with the same haircut."?
You're gripe isn't with me. It's with those people you're mentioning.

You're absolutely right my gripe isn't particularly with you, so excuse the slightly exasperated tone (if there was one).
I stand by my sentiment though, there is very little about the X7 that looks like the GLS, for sure it's the same form factor, but the execution of pretty much everything else is different. I would suggest a more accurate statement for you to have made, is that it has a similar overall shape to a Mercedes GLS... and sorry if it seems pedantic, but that's a very different statement to "it looks like a Mercedes".
Me liking BMW has nothing to do with me tiring of reading the same old tired rubbish get spouted on the internet after pretty much every new car release. FWIW I don't much like the look of the X7 (mostly the front), so I'm not simply pushing back against what might be conceived as criticism... the GLS wouldn't even be a bad car to be compared with.

Looking at the X7, its design is just really offputting. It just reminds me of a vehicle that will get driven by complete jackasses on the freeway. You know weaving around cars, tailgating, riding the brakes, etc. Either that or it'll find its way into every new rap video under the sun featuring Lil Yellow Tweezy Vert Man Jr.
I don't mind big SUVs, they serve a purpose and ultimately sell really well. It's just this one doesn't do it for me at all. If I had the need for something like this, I'd probably spend my money on a Land Cruiser or Infiniti QX50.

Tbh, imho besides the 8 series (the only brand new really beautiful car), BMW doesn`t know what its doing anymore.
