You people just value each other more and live in harmony with each other.
I think "tolerate" would perhaps be interchangeable with "value" for a lot of people too. I know of plenty of people who don't
like us being such a multicultural nation (or at least, don't like certain groups of individuals from overseas), but don't feel strongly enough about it to vote for a party like the BNP.
My personal view on immigrants is that if they speak our language enough to be fully understood by a native and have a job (or actively search for one), then they're more than welcome, and indeed in those cases I'd rather have contributing immigrants to spongeing natives living their lives off the dole and benefits.
In other words, if an immigrant is able to contribute positively to society, I welcome them. I object to immigrants who make no effort to absorb themselves into our culture and make no effort to contribute through getting a job and paying our taxes.
An example I can use for comparison would be this forum - someone who comes here, makes no effort to use correct English to the best of their abilities, spams the forums and generally behaves like an ass is not welcome. The same applies to an immigrant to this country.
Also who do the BNP consider to be British or not?
Well, they're so strict in their definition on who is British or not that my friend's boyfriend, who has Japanese and Scottish parents, was born here, grew up here, speaks perfect English, went to a private school and was educated in an English university, wouldn't be welcome because of his Japanese mum and because he
looks half Japanese.
As far as I'm aware their definition is even stricter too, so if you're Pakistani and your family has been here for four generations and fully immersed themselves into British culture and you're in a high-flying job, you'd
still not be welcome.
