They worked pretty damn good on the courses in the Nascar Championship and those had a lot of right turns lol :)

how ridiculous as it sounds, a nascar on the nurburgring, is quite fun.

it drivers awesome in my opinion. easy win nevertheless but it handles really nice in the turns

It needed some tuning but in the end I won this comfortably.. and they are fantastic when you sort out the handling.. I couldn't look at the time's it was so intense.. but when I finished it I was blown away...well under 7 mins in a nascar!! (per lap of course :) )

3 diff accounts times were

6:50 won by 8 sec

6:44 won by 20 sec

6:32 won by 37 sec

right set-up it drives with no wheel spin. it was crazy fast!:)

Was doing 6:41 with no setup at all, brand new Camry, Old nascar had an oil change, so couldn't use it. The cars are super stable, and easy to drive around the track.

I was not a big fan of the Nascars until i tried out this race around the Nurb.
I was quite suprised at how well this car handled round the ring.

I nailed it on my second run , took the lead around the carousel.

I just applied some TCS 4 and max downforce. 👍

MY GOSH!
Totally surprised by how well these things go around this!

First attempt, made 3 rather nasty mistakes but still got 7th. This is doable even with a pad!

EDIT: Oh dude!
Just right on Gordons bumper but couldn't get past and finished second. It is do-able, I think I may have lowered the speed too much, leaving it default I was much quicker along the main straigth.

Here's the setup I have, Im no tuner by any means but this is good for me and a winner the next time I try.

Aero: 50 / 70

Transmission: 217 (Going to increase to 230)

Suspension: Ride: -5 / -5
Spring: 14.8 / 13.3
Dampers (Both) 7 / 7
Anti Roll: 5 / 5

Camber: 2.0 / 1.6

All others are default. Also, this was in the #88 Chevy. Had a Toyota (#83) but changed oil and engine is run in. Had a Ford (#99) changed oil and it was too high. My last one was an untouched 88 as above which my mate gifted me.

I was doing this in around 6.40's without corner cuts etc, I could certainly have gone a lot faster too, but I was hanging off a little towards the end to guarantee winning (as I actually binned it after one of the AI's sided in to me on the 2nd lap!).

Fairly easy win if you have a bit of knowledge of the Nurburging, and the guts to slam the throttle down for a lot more of the race than you would expect.

I'm no great tuner either, but the tune I used felt absolutely godly.
Maxed Aero's
0 0 Ride Height
12.1 / 13.5 suspension
2.0 / 1.0 camber
This all seemed enough to turn it in to an absolute beast, so I didn't tinker further.

Switched up the LSD a bit too (increased on acc), but I forget the exact figures.

For anyone who is struggling with this challenge, you may be taking too much note of the racing line if you have it on. It tells you to brake way way too much!
For example that medium/long right you come to after going up the hill after the first set of corners, it says to break fairly early, but in actual fact you can give the brakes a fairly short tap, and the car will eat the road as you power down through it.

Let me start with, I hate Nascar. Truly and really, hate Nascar events in GT.

But since I had to, I took on this track, and the first times it was a night mare with driving the car in stock shape, just couldn't keep up, then I started to test with some other set-ups, and now, finally after maybe 6 try's, I won, and this is what I used:

Maxed Aero's
-1 -1 Ride Height
12.0 / 13.5 suspension
2.0 / 1.0 camber
Dampers (Both) 7 / 7
Anti Roll: 5 / 5
Transmission: 300
LSD: +10 on the Acc

This made it possible for me to win with a time of 6,44...

Finally I can be done with this and get rid of the Nascar's!

This tune really helped me. Thanks alot for posting it up buddy.

I managed a 6.44 1st lap and 6.46 2nd lap.

👍

Are you people serious? I turned on every driving aid available and consider myself lucky to have finished SIXTH. This race is complete BS, or I'm the worst driver in the world.

I too made the mistake of an oil change... now I guess I've got to drive the stupid thing 'round and 'round in practice mode till the HP drops?!?

I don't understand, what's the problem of giving it an oil change? Usually cars get better when they have an oil change

I think you may need to use a tune because that was the easiest of the bonus races in my opinion.
I was in first place half way through the 2nd lap and I wasn't really pushing that hard.

Edit..found the tune I used:
Full aero front and rear
Trans: 224mph
LSD: 30/60/5
Height: -20/-20
Toe: 0/0
Everything else default
Aids: Traction 1, Skid On, ABS 1

I have been having the same problem I am driving as fast as I can possibly drive on this track and can barely scratch out 6th place. I managed at least silver on all the other seasonal events.

I have tried a few tunes and even bought another stock car of a different make to see if that helped.. It didn't.

Ill try the tune posted here and see if it helps

Are you people doing this challenge with Skid Recovery on?
By the way, my set-up is much softer. I find that the default one is way too stiff.
This is with Skid Recovery off and ABS 1:

Aerodynamics 50/70
Transmission 370 Km/h
LSD 30/50/20
Ride height 0/0
Spring rate 11.2/10.0
Dampers Extension 3/3
Dampers Compression 3/2
Anti-Roll Bars 5/1
Camber Angle 2.8/1.0
Toe angle 0.00/0.15
Brakes Balance 7/6

Can't wait to try this tonight! Would love to start the New Year rid of NASCAR! I'll post my result.

Happy to have helped out. =)

The race is really hard, try my posted settings above and also, go with ONLY some Traction Control, maybe 6 or 7, and it'll be alot easier!

Fantastic tune!! My first try (pre-tune) i was way off the pace used this one with skid off ABS 3, Trac. 5 and Trans. 255 and won on my first attempt 6.41 and 6.45 comfortably 8 Seconds ahead of second.

Thank you very much and happy new year.

I'm with other people who've said this is the worst race in the game. I can't stand you people who say it's the easiest, I hate you. I can't get better than 6 to save my life using any of the tunes found in various threads on this forum. I've tried every combination of aids and tunes that I can think of. It doesn't matter how well I think I'm doing, at some point one of my wheels will catch a blade of grass and send me spinning, flipping, spiralling through space and time.

Saving this thread for my records. I need to I guess save up and buy a new car being I already have one that is tuned.

You guys are doing better then me! I get 1 lap done and in 8th place, only to wreak and start over again. I've tryed 5 times so far, I want that 1,000,000 in cold hard cash. So I feel some of your guys fustration. To boot I got gold in all the other events. I had been playing for about 8 hours when I tryed. Maybe I need to rest.

Glad to see I'm not the only one hopeless stuck in 6th in this race. If I see one more post about "easy" this is I'm going to punch someone.

This batch of Seasonal Races is way harder then first set.

So after reading this thread it made me want to go out and try the event. 5th on my first try (not terrible but not great) - I'm using a controller.

So I tweak things per this site. Getting better car is much easier to toss around and drive at the limit. still 5th place.

3rd time 5th place, 6th time 5th place.

I'm using the M&M Camry with the settings posted above. I had no problem scoring 1st on every other seasonal event with the other seasonal event.

When I finally finish, I'm at 3rd. The one time I took the lead, Jeff Gordon spun me out just before the main straight. Doable, but I just don't know the 'ring well enough to be as ballsy as you have to to win. Putting two good laps together without wiping is tough for me :). Gonna try again right now!
