BOP Adjustment Predictions

911 removed from game

There are many cars that can beat it, many people use it because everyone keeps saying it is OP, it is not OP. And also since it is the first Porsche in GT, people are enjoying the car. I didn't care for it early on and was beating it with the Lexus and Atenza consistently. Of course the M6 can beat it too. There are more cars as well that people just don't use. I was in a lobby with Windfire in Gr.3 Brands Hatch, he killed everyone in the lobby using the Genesis. So it's more about the driver. High B and up Dr players can make the 911 seem better than it is, but they can also do so with every other car. I think Gr.3 is more balanced than Gr.4 and if people keep complaining about every car, we are going to have to deal with different driving characteristics every update which is annoying.

I feel that the Gr. 3 WRX is slightly overpowered atm. Then again, I am using TC and I imagine that it is a handful to drive without it. Usually, I set TCS to "2" in Gr. 3 cars, but set the WRX and the M6 to "3".

I use the 911 occasionally, but I don't like its understeering in faster corners.

What is your brake balance on? Do you use counter steer assist? I use nothing but ABS and TC set to 2 and it steers sharply in slower corners. Faster corners some other cars I've driven can take it faster.

Usually -2. I have no problems with slower corners, I experience understeering in corners like the Esses and Dunlop in Suzuka or spoon corner (actually, I really dislike the 911 in Suzuka :D), and also not when braking but during corner exit.
Driving assists same as you. Then again, I am a father of 2 little girls and don't have a lot of time on my hands. Combined with my limited talent and sport mode experience (41 races atm), every gripe that I have with a specific car might be linked to incompetence on my side .

I agree!!
I've been using Genesis and it's a very good car and I hardly see anyone using it in races, another car that is excellent is SLS, which nobody uses either.

i just want to see more variety on top10 and when racing, all i see are 911's and bmw's, theres nothing worse than having 15 porches's in a lobby, personally I only drove it once, because of this. would love to see more japaneese cars; lancer and wrx. i was doing time trials for about 8 cars on the same track recently, and wrx came 2.5sec behind the 911 which I drove literally once.

The Gr3 Lancer is a BETTER car than the Gr3 WRX, Lancer is rather fast and swings right around corners like a MR car does.

Drive the 911 with a gear lower than other cars.
That's interesting. I tested both the Lancer and WRX in two different tracks (Dragon Trail and Nurb GP). The WRX is faster in both cases, by around half a second. What I noticed is that the Lancer has MR-like handling capabilities, but severly lacks in power to keep up with the WRX, which is more mediocre, but is much better all around. Maybe on a more technical circuit a Lancer would win. That's my findings about it

I love the 911 and it is my preferred car, but, I am faster in the Jag, Aston, M3 and 4C...
The 911 needs NO nerf-ing... it's simply a car the masses are reaching out to, and as such you see a lot of them.
911, turn in is fuzzy, power out at low rev's is tricky, and gearing is totally jacked, straight line speed is mid pack... but, everyone is driving it, so, you see them a lot, and people think they are "the bomb"... it is not.

Heheh. Volkswagen (people's car)

Semi-agree. The 911 is a very easy car to drive and is of course a fan favorite because it's one of the first Porsches in the series. The gearing is mostly alright apart from the long 1st gear, and yeah straight line speed is midpack, as well as oversteer at low rpms, but once you get the hang of it, the Porsche's on average 5-10kmh faster on corners than most Gr. 3 cars. Only contender I can think of is the GT by Citroen. And the Citroen is (sort of) excusable because of how hard it is to drive. But if you put that much cornering speed in an easy car to drive, that becomes a problem.

EDIT: It's not the fastest, by any means. But it is one of the fastest "easy" cars.

Agree'd, the 991 teaches people to respect corner entry, and as a result rewards on mid corner and resultant corner exit... once people apply that same principal to other cars, they will see the other cars are actually faster.
I love me the 991, push the entry and pay... the Aston can be abused on corner entry, but you pay the price... having said that, my Aston loves eating 991's because I don't abuse it's entry abilities... when the 991 gets nerf'd (I think it will and I think it's wrong) I will go back to using it out of love... suits my driving style... really needs gearing adjusted... then it'll be one of, if not the fastest... unless they fix the Ferrari's LSD... then that will be a terror. That thing has a tonne (metric, so, that's a lot) of potential, just PD has it set up so it's virtually un-drive-able.

Still iam thinking the Porsche need no nerf, its not the fastest car anymore if setup is open. I know that GTS is built around the Sportmode, but this mode got useless and boring with 5 tracks every season all over again. But thats not to tell here.

The thing what makes the Porsche good in stock setup is the fact, that the transmission is not that bad like on other cars.

Right now i think that many Top Drivers are not driving at Sportmode anymore because its unnessessary to drive there. So they move to drive lobby championships, there with open setups the porsche is not that fast but still good car.

But at the end they nerv the porsche and they are not touching the m6 and at the ende the porsche is slow and they trashed one of the most amazong brand oit of the game in gr 3.... in gr4 they allready did it, but gr4 is so or so a total mess

Please, please, please give the GR4 NSX more power or a weight reduction. Just enough for me to be able to use slipstream to pass and not have to use it just to keep up.

Or even better, get rid of 7 speed transmissions. How can some cars have it and not others? I wonder how good the M4 would actually be with a 6 speed.

I would rather see ballast/weight penalties over power bumps/penalties.

Give us the option to adjust camber and toe with accelerated tire wear in all sport mode races and a lot of the BOP complaints would greatly decrease I think.

Perfect BoP is impossible to achieve IMO. Whatever changes PD makes, some drivers will be faster with car X. Then PD makes car X a bit heavier and people will be faster with car Z. Basically, if you can adapt your driving style to any car you'll be faster with the best car at any given moment because IMO there will always be a better car IF PD keeps the stock setups.

The 911 is not OP with BoP. It's just that it has the most accessible gear ratio and you can put the power down on corner exit way more smoothly than with pretty much any other car. Open the setups and other cars will catch up, especially if they have the raw power.

The game has a crazy variety of GT3 cars, yet most lobbies/servers are just full of 911’s. I wish they would either slightly nerf the 911 to promote more variety or boost the BoP for other less used cars, Lamborghini and McLaren for example.

Much better than an average lobby there, 8 different makes of cars within the race and 2.6 seconds difference in Q times from 1st to last. All same DR B level drivers so the 911 does not need any BoP adjustment up or down from the example shown.

i would boost other cars then nerfing cars many people like, the 911 is only faster right now, because of the transmission, because the stock setup sucks on most cars... if you drive gt3 with setup, the 911 is a fast decent car but not the fastest ...

I think the 911 is only very popular brand..so many use it..so it looks like its OP..but it isnt...

Yeah I don’t think it’s overpowered, just easy to pick up and race with

As long as the user tuning option stays locked and until the BoP is done separately for each individual circuit then it will remain at some tracks that car A will dominate and other tracks it may be car B or C or could even be car A again.

One BoP standard across the board is fine for championships where you have to run the same car and the advantage / disadvantage equal themselves out due to different circuit styles.

But a game that is mainly 1 off races to keep the car makes equal then the BoP needs to be applied and adjusted for each individual circuit.

Until that is done some tracks will remain favoring different cars and if those cars are nerfed on the tracks they dominate then since any nerf currently affects the cars performance on all tracks they may well be almost useless as was done right after launch to the GTR.

You cannot have the same BoP adjustments and setups used on all circuits that will result in equal performance between all the cars at all circuits.

That is the reason that TUNERS do a different tune for a car for each track, what may work well on one circuit may very well suck on another circuit.

I was fastest yesterday in the 458, but, I have to run CSA to make it drivable, and that feels so wrong I will not race it. (please give us LSD in race)
Next fastest was the Aston, it's tricky (but manageable) off corner (LSD will fix this too) but I hate the sound of it.
991... slowest of the 3 but it just felt so right.
By the time Goldilocks found the car that was just right, was time for bed, so, no racing, but was fun qualifying for a few hours.

I don't know why you didn't quote me... I've only just seen this reply now... but anyway

The times are kinda redundant as no one in that race was getting anything close to the max out of the car they were using. But in a room of 20 people, 12 where using the 911.
Again, I'm not suggesting the 911 is broken or overpowered or anything like that, because it isn't. But I think the BoP for GR3 cars needs to be adjusted in general to reduce the amount of people using the same car. It's far more enjoyable to race different cars as they all have pro's and con's... constantly racing 911's when the odd decent GR3 race comes up, is some what tiring.

What track is this? I'd also like to do some of my own testing :)

I was not referring to top 10 or fastest possible times but the the amount of difference between the times from the first place starter to the last place starter as a 10 second a lap or more difference between times is very common in Sport races.

I see a lot of current races where the GR3 m6 will be the most common used car depending on the circuit.

With 20 racers having 9 different makes of cars within a race with 20 racers is again better than a lot of races such as a gr4 race where currently it is all mainly m4s in many races.

That just looked like a good competitive lobby with close time differences and did have a fairly good mix of different makes of cars on the starting grid. Should have been a fun race if you had clean racers populating such a lobby.
