Well, they arent very quick, so yeah. More amazingly to me, they gave the subaru MORE power. That thing is already a monster!

Nothing done about the McLaren's lack of power in Gr.4 as well as doing nothing about the Beetle and to a lesser extent the 911 RSR

It's weird that they left the Gr.3 Beetle and Gr.4 FF cars alone, on the surface it looks like a power creep approach where they use buffs rather than nerfs for balancing but the problem is they have omitted some cars that are already struggling to be competitive from the buff list (both McLarens for instance) making them even less competitive.

In Gr.3 Beetle is the very definition of OP and so painstakingly trying to buff all the other cars to match it seems the wrong approach when a simple nerf would solve the issue - plus trying to buff that many cars all at once it bound to create more issues with balance. As I said above the cars that haven't been buffed now find themselves much slower than the Beetle and now slower than all the cars that have been buffed.

Whereas in Gr.4 the FF are just too fast right now, you can get a much better run out of a corner and into a straight but they'll always be pulling away from you again before you get to the next corner meaning you can completely out drive them but be unable to pass cleanly due to their incredible straight line speed eliminating the proper passing points from virtually every track. While it's nice they've buffed a bunch of cars there's again the group that haven't been buffed, as I mentioned above the McLaren for instance was already one of the slower cars in terms of lap times but the Viper is another worth mentioning. For me the Viper is in a really good spot balance wise - it's fast but still lags way behind the FF cars - so it wasn't buffed, but with lots of other cars being buffed it will now find itself still slower than FF cars but nerfed in relation to the other cars that were buffed. Then there's a 4C the only car that was outright nerfed, it was a completely specialist car that was very fast on tight tracks but terrible on tracks with lots of fast corners (this is mainly due to the default settings being so bad), I just can't see any reason for this car to be nerfed if they are not nerfing the FF cars.

Maggiore daily race may as well be a Megane scirocco cup. In what way is a scirocco able to drive up to and past a Dodge Viper/cayman/c7 you name it uphill? The BOP is totally wrong for some cars.

Just finished a Maggiore race in 11th in M4, whole top ten were in Scirocco or Megane. I couldn't get near them on the straights! Defo need a little nerfing.

Viper isn't as fast anymore, couldn't catch up to anyone in the couple races I had today. Even the WRX's were giving the Viper a run for its money.

This new Gr.4 BoP is a real backwards step. Before the fast cars were the mid engine cars and to get the best out of them you had to be pretty sharp. Now its the front wheel drive (shopping cars) which are so boring to drive on the limit in comparison. I'll not be doing any Gr.4 Sport mode races until this is addressed. Surely the BoP could be adjusted almost on a day to day (track by track?) basis?

I guess its because the FWD cars are easy to drive so lets the people who cant handle rear wheel drive run at the front........?

Because the FF cars handle badly they have favourable BOP ratios to make up for that which gives them great straight line speed. But in the latest patch they have been the biggest beneficiaries of the improved grip which has greatly reduced their handling disadvantage which has in turn also increased their speed advantage since they can exit corners much faster now.

I dunno, I had a Mclaren on my rear bumper (in the GT-R) and it didn't seem to be lacking any power. It's all about momentum, where he was leaving me on the straights I was back with him under braking and turn in. There were a few times through the esses where the GT-R's stability meant I could keep a faster line.

The Meganes however are in a different league. In a good pair of hands they are unstoppable, though I've seen novices race them and struggle to get decent pace in the corners and finish mid-pack.

It's not so bad in actual races, but I find the McLaren is about an average of 2 seconds slower than the other cars I like to hot lap in like the Viper, WRX, or 4C.

Bop shouldn't be used to make an inferior FF car competitive when it's not competitive AT ALL irl. I know, I know, GTS is not like real life but still. The line has to be drawn somewhere...

Not exactly true, 90% of Touring cars are FWD and I'd imagine their lap times are similar to a GT4 car. In fact a bit of digging shows that on Brands GP the fastest lap for a FWD BTCC car is in the 1:30's compared to the qualifying from the 2017 British GT round where the fastest lap for a GT4 McLaren was in the 1:34s.

Now BTCC and GT4 are two very different specs but shows that with the right modifications a FWD car can be faster, so it's not outside the realms of possibility. There's also old Youtube videos where an EK9 Civic Type R beats an NSX around Tsukuba in a straight race, and also the FD2 Type R managed a faster lap record than the NSX also.

Power to weight ratios can make a big difference. If you look at how detuned most of the Gr.4 cars are, (the GT-R for example has only 400 or so hp vs the road car's 600 +) you can see why a lightweight hatchback with 300 + hp can keep a Viper honest.

Ok. I stand corrected :)
