From AWD to FWD dominance... More rebalancing needed...
I am noticing it feels like with a heavier rwd that you have to hit every mark perfectly to keep up with the Fast and Furious style cars but the fast and furious cars can bounce over curbings and get out of shape coming out of corners but it never seems to affect or slow their pace or acceleration.
I had an instance where I driving a Viper was in a side by side drag race with a VW Scirocco down the front straight in the GR4 Dragon Trail daily race and we stayed side by side for the first 80% of the straights length and I was in 6th gear and flat wide open in the Viper and a VW starts pulling away on the top end?
I could see if the Scirocco maybe pulled a bit in the beginning of the straight due to power to weight ratio but to start pulling a gap on the top end? Pfft! In brand central it states the Viper top speed rating to be 6.3 and the Scirocco to be 6.1. I would interpret that to mean that the Viper had more top end but that is not what it showed on the track today.
Just for the heck of it I had a gr4 WRX in my garage that was a gift car. I have never driven that car at all. On my third lap in the WRX I was a couple of tenths faster than my best time in the GR4 Viper which I have been driving since launch and according to my garage stats have driven this car 1701 miles and know the cars limits in my hands at least pretty well.
I have also driven my GR3 Viper another 1164 miles so my total time driving a Viper is 2,865 miles.
I should not be able to take a car in the same class that has a totally different configured drive train that I have never driven and be immediately faster than a car I am familiar with unless the BOP is broken making the WRX so much easier to drive at a race pace and the cars are not equal.
I never understood how cars bouncing over curbings or getting out of shape did not lose any pace on the track but it is pretty obvious that after my test to me anyway that the fast and furious rice burner cars do have the advantage over the heavier rear wheel drives in GR4 anyway and do not require the same precision driving skills to be fast.
