Brands Hatch Circuit in GT6?

If Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Bathurst are in, and if all GT5 tracks and GT5 DLC are included as well, the only way for GT6 to have "classic GT courses requested by fans" is by adding old variations to existing "locations" (= tracks), as we already know that the game is going to have 33 locations and 71 variations in total. The only eligible track for this treatment is Rome Circuit, if PD decide to include the classic Rome Circuit layouts from GT2 (Rome Circuit/Rome Short and maybe even Rome Night).

Thinking about it though, if they include Grindelwald, it could be part of the "Eiger" location and therefore not increase the location number.

"If they are in" ... it is possible they may not be included in that number, perhaps one or more of those will be DLC same for the original tracks they mentioned.

We'll just have to wait and see

I don't think any available (speculated or not) information about GT6 is about planned or plausible DLC. It's too soon to speak about it in detail in my opinion. I don't think anybody would be happy about day-0 DLC. Commercially speaking it's better offered some time after the game is released, if anything to give users the illusion that PD/Sony did not hold back content from GT6.

I think there is going to be a limited number of completely new tracks at launch counterbalanced by the likely addition of weather and time changes for most ones, unlike GT5.

I doubt that PD are going to leave the test course (Route X), Spa and Motegi out of GT6 anyway. The only "expendable" GT5 DLC track/location is Kart Space.

My point with DLC would be that those tracks that have been hinted at but not yet confirmed may not be complete yet and may end up as DLC.

It is also possible that they may drop one or more GT5 locations.

We should know more next week.

In the images posted by Amar from Famitsu (?) I noticed that they shower a Nismo 400R that, at least to me, looks pretty premium. It looks clean, without jaggies and with a clear interior. I think we could add that to the Master Car list, do you agree?

In case anyone is interested, Google Earth has scanned Brands Hatch with the "street view" cameras, so you can to a virtual walkaround of the circuit if you like. Same thing with Silverstone and there are cars surrounding the camera car as well. You might recognize one or two.

This tells me that one of the tools PD may have added to their track creation might be Google Earth when available?

I think your are jumping the shark just a bit with that assumption, mate.

I hope you don't think I'm thinking PD would be heavily dependent on it? It's just another resource, in addition to taking thousands of pictures, walking and driving a course to use GPS. Laser scanning a track like iRacing does would be nice.

Haha, no that wasn't what I was suggesting. I was only saying that if you access Google Earth you can move around the circuit at will before you see it in GT6. However, I can see a time, perhaps soon, when you'll be able to interface with Google Earth and use it as a track creating tool, which would be epic! Targa Florio here we come!

Here it is, boxart placeholder shown at display at GT6 reveal at Silverstone:

Similar was regarding Bathurst, it was clearly mentioned on the same day on the official PlayStation pages at :

Original text:

Day later (and today as well) it mentions only Silverstone.

Yesterday i went into my local GAME store just killing time really and they had this exact same placholder for GT6 except the GPS bullet point had been removed from the back.

Every thing else was word for word as in the above photo including Brands Hatch

Interesting, so it's seemingly finally confirmed. That does create a problem with the locations numbers though, we'll be over the 33 number with the now four new confirmed locations and four DLC locations from GT5. To me that means either the number is wrong or the GT5 DLC is still going to be DLC. Hopefully it's the former because the latter would be stupid. I didn't think most of the DLC was worth it for GT5, I'm still not going to think it's worth it for GT6.

Has anyone tallied locations and layouts to see how the current tracks, for GT5, work out? I seem to remember we had a lot of difficulty and confusion over this issue before GT5 was released - might be worth casting back to those, too. The numbers mostly came from marketers, too, which should make them instantly worthless, mind you...

So to me there are now these possibilities:

- The 33 number was wrong and we'll get 7 truly new locations and the four GT5 DLC locations on disc.
- We'll get 7 truly new locations and the GT5 DLC tracks will still be DLC despite Spa being in the trailer.

I can't see any other possibilities now that four new tracks are seemingly confirmed. If there are 33 locations and seven are truly brand new there is no room in that number for the four DLC locations in GT5.

I'm pretty sure their numbers are just wrong. Kind of looking into it too far while things are still under development.

You'd think they would have corrected it by now though. If we fans can do the maths and realise it doesn't add up surely someone at PD can.

I mean both numbers are on their website, they say GT5 has 30 locations inclusive of DLC tracks. They've then written that GT6 will have 33 locations, 7 new, indicating GT5 only has 26 locations, which it does without DLC.

I dunno, we can only go by their numbers but they should be correct.

I really hope they just gave out the 33 number as a minimum. GT5 DLC needs to be part of the game on disc, there's no excuse for not having it on there.

7 new locations is a decent number for new tracks (as locations) in the next game.

3 locations (if you deduct DLC) is a damn shame for a sequel.

Doesn't make sense if it's only 3. I bet it's 7 new locations and they made a mistake with counting.

Well that's the point, with Brands Hatch seemingly now confirmed that is four confirmed tracks (Silverstone, Matterhorn, Willow Springs being the others). That's obviously eight total, with the four DLC tracks.

I still doubt they made a mistake counting, I mean car and track count are the two most important numbers, you're going to get those right. I suppose the other possibility is that other locations have been merged into one making more room but I think the SSR locations are the only real candidate for that I think.

Maybe they've removed the Top Gear track due to licensing issues and replaced it with another British track (Brands Hatch)?

Does that mean Top Gear is coming back? Kinda sad to see them go.

What? Those two sentences don't correlate. But yeah, this seems rather clear to me:

All of the cars and tracks from Gran Turismo®5, which has sold over 10m copies since launching in 2010, will be retained in GT6.

Unless PD isn't counting SLC as "new". Thu are after all from GT5 and not "new".

The number still doesn't work, the total would be 37 if they included all GT5 vanilla tracks, 7 brand new tracks and the four DLC tracks but the website cleary says...

The UK’s famous Silverstone Circuit will be just one of seven new locations in Gran Turismo 6, taking the total to 33

It's getting more and more confusing, because of assumptions and inerpretation. No one really knows how many layouts Gt5 has, because there's a debate one wheter or not the dlc tracks have to be included.

GT5 including DLC locations has 31 locations according to PD.

PD have then said GT6 has 33 locations, 7 more than GT5. Clearly they either suck at adding up or they're not counting DLC in that 33 number and also losing another track somehow, likely merging the Eiger locations into one.
