Brightness ISSUE @ Willow Springs

Everything brightness-wise was fine for me until I did the first night race at Big Willow, all other tracks at night looked fine to me on 47% TV Brightness, Exposure 0, but Big Willow was full on Doom 3 dark, the headlights did nothing, I lost two times in a row due to accidentally driving into the pit lane on the last lap :grumpy:
With TV back to 50% Default brightness like it should be, everything is fine so far, except for driving out of a tunnel, especially High Speed Ring, which is a bit like opening the Ark of the Covenant and melting your face.

note: In regards to the Dynamic lighting range of my TV, it's something pitifully low (Cheap as chips 32" Vivo)
Also note: I think part of the reason for the massive differences in light and darkness universally in GT6 is due to a point mentioned in trailers for the game, the Dynamic Range is 50 times higher. Makes for stunning scenes around the middle, with subtle shadows on the mountains and clouds in the sky, but at the bottom and top... unbearable, a bit like staring at the sun in real life so maybe they've done something right as far as realism goes

if you have a "game mode" setting on your TV or monitor, try it, it brings out dark/detail unlike standard modes. I needed to do this to drive on the S-licence, to see period. now I just leave it on.

+0.2 gamma, too much might oversaturate and you will lose the balance in the differences of all colors.

My 1st gen LCD TV, was pure black on willow. My new BenQ 24" 1ms, I just kiss it every time I fireup GT6 in game mode.

The solution is to change the +0.6 EV you use at Willow springs to +0.0 EV. Don't use +0.6 then complain it's too bright.
Yes of course, but this is not normal when in a game you have to adjust the brightness everytime for different tracks because some of them are a bit dark and some others are too bright, don't you think?

It's an in-game brightness issue... I think that in general the game feels a bit dark so increasing the brightness feels better in all the tracks, day and night... except for willow springs that I show here.

ive set my tv to Game Mode, so nice and bright and rich colours

also have adjusted the exposure in-game to +1 for Those Odd, Really Dark Tracks that are unlit, then reset (zero) it for everything else. ;)

ive had no probs with my setup (hdmi > panasonic 55"). only 2 races so far out of all ive done (70+%) had to have the exposure adjusted. if you are getting wildy different lightlevels at all the tracks, i would suggest that something other than the game is at fault.

It's been a while since I've shamelessly plugged a thread of mine I made a few years back. It may help a few problems...

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/tv-picture-settings-lots-of-pics-56k-warning.118469/

I haven't used any fancy calibration device on my tv's and have no issue with image quality at the tracks in game.

Dark cockpit view is another issue that cannot be solved easily with the ps3 and gt6 lighting engine but thats another topic.
