I thought there were 3 entrances to the main hall area, but 2 makes it easy. There's one right down the end of the intermediate foyer, I figured we should meet there.:) There's no opening times listed for the show yet, so I don't know what time we should go yet.

I suppose with some of the young fellas being under 18 meeting up at the pub on the corner accross the street is out of the question hey?:sly:

We can shove them in the games room and give them 'fire engines'. :P I'm still getting used to that, they were banned down in NSW a long time ago, and to be able to have my 4yr old with me in a QLD pub is quite amusing as he runs around the dining areas annoying people. :D

And i'd be happy to give out my Mobile# to whoever was attending just to make things run smoother, I'm fine with that. But if anyone starts ring me in the middle of the night, why I tell you.......:grumpy:

Awww, you spoil sport. Looks like Paulie gets the 3am texts. :D

:idea:Hey, here's an idea.
What about making a time and standing at the hottest Holden, with an obvious " I'm waiting for someone, " look.

And the hottest Holden is?:sly: See the problem with saying we'll meet at a car is the possibility that car won't be there, and also if you've been to a motor show, there's always about 5 people looking at the good cars at once.

That's ok, I'm sure we will work it out.
If we use a time, then it should be all good.

The more I think about this, unless someone who won't feel like an idiot doing it holds up a GTP meet sign or something, we may have to go by mobile phones. But then, I only trust a few of you (no offence :sly:), so, would anyone feel wierd with a GTP sign, posted to their back even? Otherwise I put on my aqua Holden polo shirt, not many of those around, and stand near the designated door at the designated time, surely it would be easy to identify me with a description of myself.

 AQUA noice mate.
No seriously, something like that would work for sure.(Not the sign)

I quite like that shirt, different but nice, and still a Holden polo.:sly: I think aqua shirt is the best way to go. Everyone has to be ready in case we don't actually find each other too, you never know, so don't be disappointed if you're roaming the show alone or with who ever else you brought.

Aqua Holden shirt seems like the way to go, I agree that it is a better solution than the GTP sign.

I just noticed a hitch, my aqua Holden shirt has faded and isn't aqua any more.

I'll be wearing My (black) Bathurst Legends T-shirt..You won't miss it Bathurst Legends across the front and a map of the track (and list of winners) on the back...

I know you and I will recognize each other even though neither of us have met in person ...:sly: I just have that feeling..:)

Cheers Craig.

Well then everyone else should look for PAPA I guess, a Bathurst Legends shirt is pretty un-common.:D We just have to try and explain the meeting point. That I'll do once I have the attendee list confirmed from the PMs I sent.

Hi Guys, just incase you had not heard yet, there has been a change of date for the Brisbane Motor Show. It is now to be held June 2 - 6, 2010. There is tonnes of info as to why on their website.

The new guy is right though, I've found some info on it.

HAVING CANCELLED the 2009 Brisbane Motor Show thanks to the global financial crisis, show organisers have now announced the postponement of the 2010 Brisbane Motor Show.

The reason this time, according to Expertise Events Managing Director Gary Fitz-Roy, is to allow exhibitors time to finalise their model line-ups for 2010.

Known to TMR however, and to readers following the issue, is that the nub of the problem for the Brisbane organisers (MTA-Q) is that few manufacturers are willing to support more than one major motor show in Australia each year.

This was the reason behind the merger of the Sydney and Melbourne Motor Shows (under a joint venture between VACC and FCAI) to stage just one Australian International Motor Show each year, alternating between Melbourne and Sydney.

Brisbane organisers may be hoping that moving the Brisbane event closer to the staging of the next Australian International Motor Show to be held in Sydney will help their cause. But that’s not the official line.

“Given the event was launched just over three months ago, deadlines have been tight. With Christmas and the New Year rapidly approaching; a lot of feedback has now been received from the industry regarding the timing of the event in relation to the festive season,” Mr Fitz-Roy said.

“We feel that if we ignored this feedback we risk under-delivering on the event as well as going back on our promises to the public. The amended date will allow all parties to deliver on their roles providing a high quality event.”

Mr Fitz-Roy confirmed the event will now run from June 2 to June 6 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

He added that the Brisbane event is not the only motor show affected, saying that all major Australian motor shows are reassessing staging dates.

That really is quite a long time from the original date. It's a real shame I was looking forward to meeting you guys! Guess we'll have to wait and see if everyone can make it closer to the new date.

Im not sure Mafia_Boy could make it now, wasnt it luck that he was up at the right weekend?

Ummm, I LIVE in QLD now so it's no biggie. I was already going to be down there THIS weekend for some poker finals but unable to come the following week.....so this is actually good news for me and gives me an excuse to come back down in June. 👍

Yeah, at least that's one positive to be drawn, you might be able to come now mafia_boy.:) Let's hope the show doesn't get cancelled though.:nervous: Otherwise we'll have to pick a day and drive around to all different car dealers checking their 🤬 out and messing with the salesmen.

Sounds like the Show is locked in now without doubt for June 2-6.

Sorry for the triple post here, but I just read news today stating the 2010 Brisbane Motor Show has been cancelled this year, and due to this being the 2nd year in a row, hopes are not high for it to ever return ever again.:(
Just another kick in the teeth to Paulie, one of hundreds this past month or so for me, so don't blame yourselves people, entirely my fault.:irked:

The Motor Show got cancelled, it's hard to go and meet at a show that doesn't exist.

True that :D

Sorry for the incredibly late reply but I always forget about this sub forum, it hides pretty well 👍.
