The fact is the Left are getting destroyed at the moment which is leaving the Right with an open goal so they can peddle their politics of division because at least they are letting people speak about the issues they are facing.

This is exact reason I find Trump’s popularity so hilarious. It’s not that I support his politics, I don’t like him at all. It’s actually all the unpleasant, smug sneering from the far left. The (unwarranted) intellectual arrogance. Calling everyone who doesn’t fit into their dangerously naive worldview a “bigoted midwit”. Those people have brought Trump, Farage, the AfD et al on themselves. And that’s funny to me. To quote Nelson Muntz: “haw haw”.

Again, you haven't articulated why exactly you want it to remain legal.
Thanks for clearing up that you just haven't read what I've posted. I'll try again, but I'm not optimistic you'll read it this time either.

It should remain legal because things shouldn't be illegal unless there are strongly compelling reasons for them to be illegal.

"It gives me the ick" is not a strong enough reason to make something illegal, even though that reasoning has historically been used extensively and there are laws on the books today in most countries that boil down to the same thing. Those laws are stupid, and we shouldn't be making more of them.

And even then, if you're going to make something illegal you should choose the method that has the least impact on things that are not the specific behaviour that you wish to remove from society. Your law should be targeted to have as little collateral damage on freedoms as possible.

If you don't want genetically compromised children born, then ban sex and/or pregnancies that lead to genetically compromised children.

If you want to avoid genetically compromised children, then do not ban marriages. Marriages not only do not necessarily involve sex or children, many children are born outside of wedlock and thus would be completely unaffected by such a law. A law banning marriage would be an awful choice of a law even if your sole goal was avoiding genetically compromised children. Not only does a marriage ban not adequately cover all the situations in which genetically compromised children could be created, it infringes on a bunch of freedoms for reasons completely unrelated to the health of children.

If you want to make a law breaking up Pakistani communities, then do that. But have the balls to not to hide behind "won't someone think of the children" when you're doing it.

I don't know how much clearer I can make it.

Either your proposed law is a bad solution to the problem you claim to want to solve, or you're not actually telling the truth about what the problem you want to solve is. I suspect it's both.
Pretty sure they are doing it for at least two reasons, one being the health risks.
And so the goalposts start to move. At least you're admitting that there are other reasons now.

So the other reason is to break up the structure of the foreign cultures, right?
Nice job avoiding this, too:

Do you honestly think these women are getting to know their dad's brother's sons and choosing them thinking, yes, that's the guy out of everyone else I want to marry and have kids with?
I didn't think it worth the time to answer, because obviously someone could find their cousin to be an attractive partner. America has a whole stereotype of people in certain areas finding their brothers and sisters to be attractive partners. This is not a revolutionary idea.

But if you need it spelled out for you then yes, sometimes I think that's the case.

To give some first hand background, I lived in Japan for a few years. Japan also has legal first cousin marriage, and while it's not super common it's also not exactly ultra rare.

Most adult friend groups will have a cousin marriage within one or two degrees of separation. Everyone has met someone who is married to their cousin. I've met a few. Yeah, it's a bit weird but there's lots of small towns where people don't travel much and they end up settling down with someone "in the family". Maybe sometimes there's pressure from parents or something, but the couples I met seemed just like any other Japanese married couple.

Other cultures may have more arranged marriages and such, but I don't think it out of the realm of possibility that someone finds that their cousin is the person they want to spend the rest of their life with. It seems much to me like when childhood friends get married, they have a lot of shared history and probably know each other really well. Probably better than people who hook up in their teens and get married on the back of a pregnancy scare.

People will exist at all extremes of the political compass, that's just how the world is. Ultimately if you think the rise of the far right is the fault of the far left, the opposite would also likely be true. Fact is the popularity of far right figures and parties is due to their supporters, not their detractors. Nobody who thinks Farage is a massive **** voted Reform.

I don’t know of anyone who thinks that.
If the far left isn't a appreciable presence, then how is it to blame for the far rights rise?

If the rise of Trump, Farage, etc is a reaction to them, they would need to have at least an appreciable presence.

It will never not be amusing to see the continued stance of, "I don't like Trump, but I like that he irks the left who deserve it, haw haw", as if his policies/thoughts won't have an impact on people beyond US liberals. It's how the leopard feeds on an already growing buffet of ignorance.

Like him believing tariffs should now be applied to Europe & the UK ready to respond with tariffs of their own. Call it "intellectual arrogance" all you like, but Trump gets called names like a colossally stupid moron b/c that specific threat to the EU does warrant that title upon him.

Yep, all that, and the left still couldn’t put up anyone competent or even likeable enough to beat him. He’s a felon, he’s a rapist, he’s a liar, a grifter, a cheat, and an absolute raving moron. All that, yet he’s still more appealing to the masses than a leftist. Haw haw indeed

You think that US politics has a left?

The centre right lost to Trump, not the left.

Right, you’re all lining up for one of your infamous GTPlanet dog pilings, I can see the foam in the corners of your mouths from here. I’ll bounce before the “gonna need to see a peer reviewed study from a source I like on that, pal” starts, followed by the inevitable brandishing of the ban hammer.

It's astounding how this post is a perfect reflection of the US voting system; thoughts based on nothing but surface level issues that refuse to produce whole pictures, with heavy doses of propaganda to keep one blissfully unaware.

1) I didn't quote you specifically because you've demonstrated you never can actually argue your points, so I made a general response based on your post. You're the one who chose to respond, anyway.
2) Point proven from 1).

I don't know why you're afraid of getting banned. You should know the rules full stop given how quickly you are to cite the AUP & moderation guidelines to others.
