It was a tricky pair of races tonight. Yes it got a bit pushy at times, but given that it was big cars on a small track, I think we did ok đź‘Ť
 
Agreed RP. I was out of place, and we all were. Suzuka will be interesting...

Johnboy what wheel do you have? I have a DFGT and even a Ferrari F1 isn't a problem when it comes to shifting gears here.

I went manual in the end (DFGT here to) wasnt to bad happy overall was a battle out there Culk you would have loved it......not:sly::)

First Races and 25 pts xD
Was great. First Race: Horrible Start from me plus outside for St. Devote => last place
fought through the pack which is quite hard at Monaco => couldn´t get you Gik ;)

Second Race: Better Start plus nice Duell with Unclebob (jhodas was close too until 6th lap) till 10th Lap after that akmuq was my main oponent (for 1 Lap he pitted before I did). After Pitstop I had a nice solo Tour and I could get into Racing flow (1:35´s all the Time ;)).
Johnboy and RacerPaul fought behind me and RP passed him and closed the Gap consistantly. Last Two Laps where superb I think I tried to stay infront he tried to pass me. He made a mistake at the chicane I think and I made the mistake at last Turn.
=> he came in second, gap between us: 0.069 seconds *d´oh*

If johnboy held RP back just for 1 more Lap I would have been 2nd :D (I shouldn´t have made my mistake in the first place xD)

I hope I was a fair racer and I´m open to criticism because I want to improve.

The Track is too narrow for the size of the Cars but it was major Fun ;)
Looking forward to next week :D

BtW: The Maserati is a great pick from me although I have to place the Ballast weight a little better (I just did a quick tune due to entering this series Today :D).

Well this week I had changed my setup radically purely going for turn in and worry about the back end afterwards. I took advantage of the 8 gears the car had my making the first 4 short so I would get more traction, so I wouldn't have to worry about the back end. What I completely forgot about was by brake bias, I had it at 2:3 but at the end of race 1 I was oversteering while braking and I hit into the side of RacerPaul so I changed it to 4:1 for the last couple of laps.

The race itself, I had got pole by half a second and made a brilliant start so I was 6 tenths up by Casino Square, however I was just to slow trying to save tyres when it wasn't that necessary and RacerPaul caught up with me, we had a brilliant battle, reminding me of the Toca meeting at Monaco where we had a brilliant battle there as well, however he got ahead of me and when I was trying to take a different line to get a good run at him out of the chicane he had almost parked it which slowed me down and let him get away, in the end, he won by a second. Good race Paul.đź‘Ť


Race 2 I knew I could make up a few places on the line and I did, was up to 7th or 8th very quickly, however uncleBoB and sakery had got past the pack who were fighting it out in the midfield, which gave them a good lead over me, Paul and johnboy. It was really hard to get past them and on lap 3 at Casino Square there was a pretty big incident, someone pushed johnboy into me and I went into RacerPaul. I'm 90% sure who that was but I'm not going to name them here.I think I was 5th after that and made a couple of overtakes that lap and was 4 seconds away from sakery and uncleBoB. I gradually made the gap up while they battled. On lap 8 going into Saint Devoute (turn 1) uncleBoB missed his braking which allowed me to slip through into 2nd, then I was stuck behind sakery for a couple of laps before I managed to make a move on the outside of the chicane and into the lead on lap 10. I checked the map at the end of the lap and saw there was a clear space for me to slot into after a pitstop so I came in at the end of lap 11 from a one second lead. As the others pitted I came on to lap 14 with a 4 second lead from sakery, it was a stable gap for a couple of laps, until he started closing in on me which made me hurry up. In the next couple of laps I extended the gap to 7.5 seconds and then slowed down a bit. On lap 21 I noticed he was closing in on me as I think he got the hurry up with RacerPaul breathing down his neck, the gap went down to 5.5 seconds but once Paul caught up with him, they slowed each other down and the gap widened to 8 seconds at the end of the final lap. 43 points from the 2 races was a brilliant result, and I've now got ahead of Furinkazen. Great night of racing.


P.S. Monaco is the only grand prix that sponsors care about, so milldrum now thinks I'm a frontrunner.:lol:

A Maserati was fast enough to be close to gaining a ticket? Mine can only do 1:39 around Monaco. :( Maybe too much ballast in the cabin.

Great first race between RP and Akmuq, really enjoyed watching it...not sure about the 5 wide moments into the left,right right after the chicane first lap though :lol:

I was thinking the same as I watched it unfold :nervous: :nervous:

Believe there was 3 M3's, an ISF and an XKR all going for the same line into the corners...They made it round! (with a little help from the barriers and each other :sly: )

Well maybe not quite 5 wide but 5 into 1 corner at the same time atleast, sure someone will have a good picture of it happening
 
I'll look out fo it in the replays.

I'll also get the 0-60 times again, since the last ones were at Tokyo with much higher gearing. I want to know if it's possible to go under 3 seconds in this car.
 
Same idea of my setup to Monaco (turn in most important, will worry about back end later) but the values have changed quite a bit thanks to the two banked corners.

Time now 2:01.8XX and tyre wear improved to about 10 laps.

If I were picking lap numbers I'd go for 8/16 simply because it's a very long circuit.

8 laps will be nearly 20 minutes here.
 
^ Thanks Akmuq, good to know about laps will have a bash later doing one of those stupid bspec endurance things wish i hadnt started it now bored bored bored.:yuck::dopey:
