My connection issues were down to an unstable ping and jitter. Most of the time it would be okay, but now and then it would give me an appaling result, so my advice is to always check your results on pingtest.net several times if you're having any issues.

That's really random. Are you testing it on a PC, if not try the PC (or laptop) and see what you get?

retested on a application rather then online got a better looking result (more realistic) 66ping 49 jitter :/ that's with 3 devices using wifi

49 jitter is worryingly high mate. Hopefully it's much lower when others aren't using the wifi. I know that if I'm doing a download on the PC and run a test at the same time, my results are worse, so this is possibly your problem.

Don't worry about the packet loss, I can't test it either.

Anyone else using your internet at the moment? Your ping is a bit on the high side, it'll work, but could do better.

The lower your ping is the better for gaming, anything under 50 is super, under 100 is okay but over isn't so good. The jitter is basically how much the ping is fluctuating by, so a stable connection would have a low jitter and an unstable connection would have a high jitter.

My girlfriends 2DS can cause my ping to akter, so test it again when he isn't using it, or if he's not actually playing online, ask him to turn off the wifi on the 3DS.

It would be good to know what his connection is like and whether or not it can be improved.

@rolo912011 - Nice result mate, not all that surprising really, you're generally a good host and the results reflect that. The jitter could be lower, but it's okay for what we need.

My wifi does have a habit of just cutting out if I use too much at once. Is this a common bandwidth issue or do I just have a s**t connection?

I'm guessing that you can't go wired for some reason?

I'm no expert on internet connections, but I did learn a fair bit while trying to resolve my own problems. The wi-fi works, but like anything that gets transmitted, it's subject to interference from other sources and packet loss. The greater the distance between the devices the higher the risk of potential problems. Also I don't think that the PS3 wireless capabilities are very good, certainly on my PS3, I get less problems since going wired and I highly recommend it.

I've also read about people simply fixing their issues by moving the PS3 away from the TV stand and into the open more. I guess that the sheer amount of wiring behind most TV's wouldn't help the wi-fi.

I have a friend that uses a similar thing (different brand) and he said that it works well. I haven't tried it myself though.

Can I ask a serious question for everybody to give an honest answer to - Which driver (based on car, position in championship, fairness in racing, and just overall driving skill and ability) do you think has been the best this season? Doesn't have to be fastest just based on them where they are. Mine would be Ian I believe he has done things with that volvo no one else could and kept himself almost clean

Most improved driver is MadBean, he has had plenty of penalities (shame) but he has certainly got quicker and more consistent this season. 👍

Best driver? Hmm, possibly Skeng. He has had some rotten luck this season but he's still a front runner, although I think the BMW is helping a bit, that car is so quick this season, no wonder people want it for next season. I'll vote Skeng. 👍

I haven't but this season I have had, a crash that wasn't my fault almost every race >.< and car hasn't been for me :c scirocco worst car of the season no questions

Good point, you've had a lot of engine trouble this season and when it's running sweet you're quick too. Another greatly improved driver for sure.
