i didn't had the cjance to train there, but i had a few laps last week with autumn ring setup and IIRC i was lapping at 56.... that means 3 seconds slower, x 20 laps means being lapped! :P

guess i should try to come up with a better setup :D

btw mate, thinking about the next season, what about enforcing a weight to hp ratio?

like now, if your car is 1100kg we have a cap at 305hps right?

so if your car is 1150kgs your hps would be 320
if your car at its lightest is 1200kg your allowed hps are 332

and all inbetween. How would that sound?

the math would be

( YOUR CAR WEIGHT AT MINIMUM/1100) x 305

thoughts?

Thanks for the target time' 👍

Let me know if you do... That's my goal so far only hitting 54s not sure if I'm running out of car or ability though. I'm just going to assume that any lap I can do, johnboy will smash it by a second.

Yes mate, we have a big handicap with our heavy volvos (its like driving a boat :D). Your proposal is good, but i think its easier to restric the Performance Points. In any case, i think it will help the championship to be fairer and more competitive.

A better way to do that would be to up the minimum weight so that all cars are running the same HP/Weight, because with more power you're gonna get more tyre wear and what not.

If everyone runs same weight and same power then it's more about driving and setup with regard to tyre wear.

Also given that it's not possible to perfectly recreate the BTCC it might be worth playing around with the list of cars and finding ones that are "within" the spirit but not necessarily an actual part of it.

So for example replace the S60 with the C30.

Or take some of the cars that can have an RM and level them with say the 320 Touring Car?

I like the idea of switching the volvo,as for having RM cars we decided before the idea came together not to.

It will be a confusing topic that we will eventually sort out.

Making the cars have all the same Hp/weight I would love, but can we do this with all the cars????

Well you'll likely have to trim the lightest and the heaviest, worth a look, maybe 1,400kg is a good base? You can always add 200kg ballast and you can usually lose around 150-200 through weight reductions. Means in principle there's a 400kg initial weight range and most of the cars in stock form must be within that range.

i'll look into the volvo c30 and see if it's any better or more competitive...

concerning suzuka est, so far stucl at 56.8 O_o

talking about it, you should make up an online database with races, results points, standings and statistics...

oh it would be cool to have someone acting as a journalist and interviewing the racers each week :D

maybe running the same at 1/4 mi or 1600m isn't a must, but equalizing power to weight ratio should already even things by itself.

I always thought about that too. matching the P/w ratio or speed testing them on Route X, and adjusting the hp & kg so they run identical 1/4 mi or 1600m times.

We can give that a shot if you want :)
I have a lot of free time on my hands as I'm on study leave so I can do that for us this week, if we all want this to be done :dopey:

Good idea!

This might sound like complaining but it's meant to be suggestions:
1: change standard cars to premium cars because standards can't get front aero:
As previously suggested, we could change the Volvo S60 to the C30 where you can add front downforce.
I was thinking a little the same to the BMW's, maybe changing to downtuned 135i.
The biggest problem would be the Audi, I don't know what you think but maybe the TT?

2: Maybe allow for a separate race car division with cars like 320i TC, Integra Super Touring Car, Mazda 6 TC, etc..

3: I know you're proud if calling it BTCC, but maybe we should allow touring cars from other Series such as WTCC as well, like the Seat?

Worth to note, just ideas, I way too often get "yelled" at when I come up with ideas

1. I agree that we should, with the BMW it would have to be at near 200hp to make it as even as the other cars unless we use the BMW Z3/4 :( The Audi TT is a strange idea, but I'm happy with it :D

2. I think the championship should be kept as One Whole Group

3. I would be happy to have cars from other touring cars from other touring car championships, like Volvo+ Seat (not in premium garage) etc :) It will make the championship very varied and interesting :D

Just give me a list of the cars you want me to add or replace and it shall be done

It would make no sense to change it now as the season is already going, I was thinking for next season?

Next season will good :)
I will keep this season the way it is and will change alot next season :)

I can send you some basic ideas

The message I sent is only half, will just post them here

The BMW would probably just need to have a higher weight. The reason it's much more competitive than the 330 is because it's lighter, you can get that thing down to what ~1,100kg?

Here are the ideas then:

Cars:

Honda Civic '08
Ford Focus ST '06
BMW 330i '05
Vauxhall/Opel Vectra 3.2 V6 '03
Volkswagen Golf V GTI '05
Audi S3 (nearest to the A4)
Volvo S60
Alfa 156
Honda Accord
Peugeot coupé 406 3.0 V6 '98
Toyota Corolla
Honda integra TYPE R '04 premium
Alfa 147
Seat Ibiza (instead of Leon)
Holden Commodore *
Chevrolet Camaro *
Nissan Primera (you forgot it for this season)
Volvo C30
Toyota Soarer (can be used as Avensis replacement)
Honda Integra '99
Older Honda Civics
Renault Megane Renaultsport

Schedule could be:

Grand Valley
High-speed Ring
Tokyo R246
Indy Road
Laguna Seca
Monza
Nürburgring
London
Madrid
Rome
Suzuka Full
Autumn Ring
Possibly a non-championship race at Spa(?)

* Commodore Races the Aussie V8 Supercars and Camaro was an idea to use instead of Lacetti/Nubira/Cruze
