More cars more complicated just remember that:scared: Seat Ibiza Cupra worth a glance maybe.:sly:

Yeah, as you said, my idea was a little, well, eh, optimistic perhaps, maybe we should just Keep it to more or less what it is, allow cars of the same "spec" only, so new season should only have cars from BTCC/WTCC and cars like those? Or maybe only this-century cars?

Got a beta-list here:

BTCC cars:

Honda Accord Euro-R '00 + '02
Nissan Primera 2.0Te '90 (no 2000 version as it's ugly and never raced the BTCC)
Ford Taurus SHO '98 (possible Mondeo replacement, subject to confirmation by Geeky)
Vauxhall/Opel Vectra 3.2
Peugeot 307 XSi '04
Alfa Romeo 156
Honda Integra Type-R DC2 + DC5 (no RM or race car)
Ford Focus (no race car)
Toyota Corolla RUNX AEROTOURER (replacing Toyota models)
Alfa Romeo 147
Lexus IS200 (not race car)
Renault Clio/Lutecia '00 (not race car)
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4/5/6 (replacing Mitsubishi models, subject to confirmation)
Honda Civic (all models except RM and race car)
BMW 330i (replacing BMW models)
Seat Ibiza (replacing Seat models)
VW Golf V
Audi S3 + S4 (replacing Audi models)

These are the BTCC cars from 2000 and onwards which I could find replacements for

I agree with johnboy. The cars should represent BTCC/WTCC as close as possible. Another suggestion: two race series, one with the present BTCC cars and a classic/legendary class. The classic series could be held before the present-day cars (one race only).

I've said it before, but I say keep it to current BTCC cars... that means Focus, Civic, Audi, Vectra, Golf, BMW. Maybe include a couple of championship-winning cars of the past, eg. Integra, Primera, Volvo.

I don't fancy the idea of two seperate championships running alongside each other, sort of defeats the object for me.

Yeah maybe it would be best to concentrate on one car for each driver :)

The clio is a little misplaced isn't it? It usually races in separate clio-cups.
And I don't think the taurus fits in very well.
Otherwise the list seems quite good :D

Looking through Wikipedia I saw a Clio in the 2002 season (driven by Collard) so it's actually more of a 50/50 thing.

15 random cars wont make a great series 5 or 6 close ones most certainly will.

As I said, these are the replacements I could find, based on the cars from this century, you may like it or not but in the end Geeky decides

Wow! alot of effort went into this :D

And I think if we keep it to these cars then I'm happy :dopey: some interesting cars and I think deserve to be raced (e.g. The Clio)

I think that this should be the season twos cars :D

Also guess what, practicing on the track and my pedals have broke! No throttle response :(

Yeah Rob Collard 01/02, production class :)

That list sounds good to be fair, all those cars are pretty close to the real series. Let's go with it :D

I agree next season, this seems like a great bunch of cars and I agre it is like the real thing. and it will be somethnig we use :D

Sure very true as do the drivers whether to stay or go each to their own i guess.:D

The finesse about this is that all cars (except the apparently 🤬 Volvo's) can be directly "transferred" from our current championship to this as these are (I'll say it again just to finish the sentence :) ) GT5's versions of BTCC cars from 2000 and onwards. Only thing I'm not 100% sure of is Evo and Taurus as they were not really racing the BTCC

the evo did... one year, but I'm happy to lose it :D

maybe we could have a Mini  (mini challenge and in the early years of the BTCC)

Defending Johnboy :), I can see what he means by a lot of different cars wont make good races. It would take a hell of a lot running in, so all the cars are mostly equal, and that is almost impossible. The best thing to do, would be to get rid of the S60 (replace it with the C30) and leave the rest of the cars as they are (more ballast for the integras though!)

A Mini could be a good idea! But I don't know if it will get too light or too little power.. But of course if we'll do it by Power/Weight it doesn't matter :)

And I should be able to test at least some of those cars, what track(s) should I use? Was thinking Monza, Nürburgring and London?

Monza and Fuji F are always good indicators.💡

Results from first test session at Indy 500PP seasonal, so yes, they were not running BTCC spec, although they were at more than 1000kg.

BMW (497 PP): 1:43:1
Seat (476 PP): 1:46:2
Honda DC2 (max.): 1:42:6
Alfa 156 (max.): 1:45:0

Reports:
BMW: The only set-up car that I tested. It felt like on glue on the 3rd lap of the race (3rd lap will be the counting lap due to traffic the 2 first). Despite some RWD typical sliding the car was good overall.

Seat: The most off-pace car, not even close to the 500 PP. It didn't feel that bad, and with our championship being closer to 450-460 PP there might be hope for Seat.

DC2: Are you crazy how this car kicks off!?! It's a rocket! Even with no setup changes it had NO problem beating the BMW on Indy. And then consider that the correct setup can gain up to a second..

Alfa 156: Quite the same as the Seat. It has enough power to make it run short on the straight, and that's the big killer for this car. Like Seat and DC2, I had not touched the setup.

When I get more time on my hands I'll first test the remaining cars (I'm missing some which I'll name at another time), then test them with our specs

i agree... but i tried jumping in a mostly untuned integra... ended being 1sec per lap faster.

it works if all the cars were equal. i think people want variety to try and find more even cars to the fastest already in the championship. we don't want 14 people to just use bmw or integras next season, right?

i would sugest johnny to take test laps on the various cars and give us his precious impression on how to balance them.

after all i was 0.6seconds off his pace from the time he gave me in the volvo, but i was 4 seconds off his pole :D

The integra is the only car capable of reaching the 1000 kg limit. My suggestion is to raise the allowed weight to 1100 kg, so the cars are more equal.

Hooray!!!! :D

And the tracks seem good to test on :) and like someone said as well, Fuji

👍 To quote a famous danish cristmas/advent calendar:
"Just what I should til at say" (Exactly/Just what I was about say)

It's a classic :) Ahh ****, it's in Danish!

"Det' bår' dæjli'" don't know what that would translate to :D although I think the closest would be "that would be great"

Back on topic, look at the report from the first 4 cars I've tested

What are the weight of the bimmer and civic? Which model of the civic is it, the one in the championship?

i lolled XD

the volvo and vectra weight 1180 at min IIRC :D i still think power to weight is the best way to go!

The Bimmer was at it's lowest weight which is 1240 kg (in your face Geeky :D ) and the I think it was just under 1100kg IIRC (I have a very bad short-term memory )
