Yeah, it's not fully, 100% resolved, but you should find it significantly better, with only one or two disconnects every few hours, instead of every few minutes. I'll make another note when the situation has been completely taken care of.

@kikie Are you still having problems? I see no indication of any issues over the past few days.

I'll let you know if there are still problems. There were problems with loading pages and replying to threads. It sometimes took a while to load/reply.

When this happens, there is a black rectangle in the upper right hand corner with little white vertical blocks which alternate (on/off). Difficult to explain what I want to say.

I was having problems with alerts, I wasn't getting them and I got one saying I was quoted and it was someone else who did.

That's been happening lately.

Strange, I still see no traces of any problems in the logs. Everything appears to be running normally on my end.

I've been coming here on a daily basis since October and I've never had problems for 3 months or so. :odd:

Loading problems are back. Maybe it's my internet connection or my pc, I don't know but I'm having a little bit of problems loading pages and posting.

This happens frequently and randomly to me when perusing the forums last couple days. Any idea why?

Hard to say - that could be caused by a wide range of issues. Everything appears to be working fine on GTP's side.

I've had it 3 times since posting this and not had any issues with any other sites :indiff:

I'm having some issues with firefox, it's very slow at times and timeouts occasionally.

Also some issues with quoting, sometimes the quote doesn't appear, other times the wrong quote appears. Two days ago it put the wrong name to a quote.

Both of you could try running some ping tests. Assuming you're on Windows, open a command prompt and type:

ping -n 100 gtplanet.net

Once completed, you should see some statistics at the bottom with average response times and the % of packet loss.

10% loss.

0% loss here but GTP is running very slow for me too.
Other sites are good.

Im on Firefox.

EDIT: Now it's working normaly 👍

Such high packet loss implies some type of problem in the Internet between you and the server. It's strange that you all would be experiencing issues from so many different locations around the world, but I can't replicate any routing problems to the server in my testing and all bandwidth metrics look normal. Even doing reverse ping tests from the servers to your IPs returns normal results.

You could try contacting your ISP, or wait until later next week to see if these problems resolve themself. Perhaps all of you are passing through some router or network link that's having issues.

Still getting it here.

Well, if you're up for some more testing, we can do some more investigation.

Trying running ping -n 100 wrs.gtplanet.net in your command prompt again. Then immediately run ping -n 100 gtplanet.net and compare the results. Then run tracert wrs.gtplanet.net and tracert gtplanet.net (on Mac/Linux, replace "tracert" with "traceroute") and copy/paste those results here. That subdomain runs on another server in a separate datacenter that's not too far from the primary datacenter in Manhattan.

It might help narrow down the source of the problem that I can pass along to the network engineers at the hosting provider. Anyone else who's reading who would like to join the fun, please do. 👍
