Mr Latte
Yeah, come menus in Shift 2 I felt like I was inside a Tornado... :)

Options:
Miniature programmable remote on cockpit to mute or lower volume.
Remote operated switch (audio sender) box for LFE output control only (turn on/off).
iPad/iPhone or similar app/device to act as remote for Buttkicker amp or alternative reciever.

This sounds like a great idea! Do you know of any examples Mr Latte? iPhone app or a manufacturer of a remote audio sending unit?

Edit: besides my TV or stereo remote lol. Would be a nice addition to hard mount something to rig.

Theirs this, i bought it last year and might use it on my own rig it will work as a remote...

An audio sender, possibly even Bluetooth audio sender may work with LFE.
Such devices need to be checked or tested to ensure no signal dropouts, Maybe avoid 2.4ghz, also no delays, compression and working via remote are concerns. Bound to be a model that would work well around the 30-40 price mark. Or if anyone sees a switch box tat operates via remote would be a good option.

I'm doing some things with my own setup that takes things a bit further. Surprises for the future, not going to share all my little things yet. Others will just copy before my rig is finished, so when it's done then I will expose all the things I'm doing and with a nice guide...

Maybe I should join I-racing forums to get some further discussions....

My solution was I went to pacific cable and ordered a 10' PS2 extention cable ($8) for my buttkicker gamer 2's wired remote. that way i have enough cord to keep the remote right next to me, and all the plugging and unplugging is easy because i dont have to get behind the amp to connect it, which will also prolong the life of the amps input jack. It doesn't solve the problem of turning it on and off frequently for the menu music but it makes life a little easier. If anyones interested just call Pacific Cables, the guy that helped me was awesome because I very easily could have ordered the wrong one. Great customer service!

Out of curiosity, if I can not get the LFE signal strong enough from the receiver and decide to use the Multi-AV with a Graphic EQ, am I still able to filter out/adjust it to get the sound/signal sent normally only to the LFE channel but adjusting the EQ ?

Did that make sense..?

will using the multi av on the ps3 deminish the signal sent to the hdmi cable at all. thanks.

thanks to all you help i just got a 150w stereo amp with low pas filter and 2 auras. cant wait for them to arrive. thats why i keep poppong in with random questions.

I only ran it last night for a short period using all outputs of the PS3 - the HDMI video signal to projector was normal, the Optical Audio out running into my receiver using Dolby processing normal, and the Multi-AV out was plenty strong too.. So from my experience no. The other point also is why would Sony allow a Multi-Av option if it was going to degreade performance, so realistically it shouldn't.

On a seperate point, if I can not get the BK Advance running successfully off the LFE channel from the receiver I feel a little bit dudded.

For the cost of 1x BK Wireless Kit (BKA300-4 & BK Advanced) I could've purchased a Behringer A500 and 2 x BK Mini LFE's and run off the Multi-AV with true stereo tactile. Add an EQ and it would've been perfect.

Now, I'm left with the option of only running my BKA300 & Advanced off the Multi-AV (even though both left and right are fed in) it is only a Mono output.

Fingers crossed some manual tinkering/config will resolve the LFE signal to the BKA300.

Okay, so with some detailed reading of the Manual Speaker Setup for the VSX-515-S there is a specific section referencing Channel Levels - this is what Mr Latte was referring to. I will give it a go tonight and obviously increase the SW level considerably.

FINGERS CROSSED..! I really want this to work as I want to reserve the Multi-AV for Phase 2 which is stereo tactile.

So much for plug and play...

Well I changed the setting from A-MCACC to M-MCACC (manual) and increased the level on the SW (sub-woofer) and a much much bigger improvement. However changing to manual has changed some of my rear surround settings so will need to increase volumes there and tinker a little - but overall good news. Working as expected now..! Thanks for all the advice and assistance so far!!

Just a quick update..

I ran a quick set up of the Pioneer VSX-515 almost like resetting it to 5.1 basic set up and then ran the Auto-MCACC. At the end it allowed some manual adjustments where I was able to increase the Channel Level for the Sub-Woofer.

I set this to +10db (which is +100) and needed to reduce the volume on my actual subwoofer to counter the increase and the BK-Advance is working great now.

Rear Surround is working too as originally set up so overall the right surround sound and a decent output of the LFE channel to the Buttkicker.

I have in the PS3 Audio options allowed both Dolby and DTS and in game it is running DTS (NEO) not sure what that is but it's fine. I will try normal Dolby too to see if there's a difference but very happy with the DTS as is.

My VERY temporary set up, while I wait for the GamePod to arrive..

I have the wooden floor sitting on the Rubber Isolators that came with the Buttkicker for the lounge.

While it is FAR from perfect, I at least get some use out of it while I await shipment. Would've been here by now but asked to wait for it when the WPS is available, and hopefully it should be shipped out in the coming weeks.

p.s. surprisingly, it works..!

Nice to see you getting some progress.
Familiarise yourself with a car/setting then try some different DSP modes.
Avoid the echoey modes like hall/church but compare modes like Dolby/DTS/THX.
You may find that some give more presence to centre and LFE channels. In your case your not using Centre tactile yet and results could be dependent on the receiver/settings used but give it a go when you get things properly setup.

Btw you'll like the Gamepod.

hi readyfe, Im in sydney too. and about to make a purchase of the same buttkicker ( or maybe buttkicker mini) actually been thinking of making a base 'plate' under my rig and mount the buttkicker there
my question is , I used to own Gamer 2, which comes with the amp by it self. with this one, does it requires seperate power inputs or the red and black wire from your pioneer amp is powering that thing ?

Cool. I'll take a look at your links but watching F1 at the moment :)

This model also runs its own BK Amp as it is run off the subwoofer line out.

Running tactile i think you can run off the receiver however for LFE it requires it's own amp much like a dedicated woofer.

Also just to clarify, my Pioneer signal from the PS3 is via Toslink Optical cable and running 5.1ch speakers currently and the BK Amp powering the BK Advance is running off a splitter on the sub-woofer line out (why it needs it's own amp). So not just running stereo output.

To HWANGM, the BK Wireless Kit pricing and stock:

simparts.co.nz have it delivered for $499 (available now).
pagnian are $599 (eta late June).

Both are "Aust" models. So you can save $100..

Yeah its too bad you cant get the LFE sub out to work from your receiver because that is by far the best filter, and about the music... I get that too and its super annoying, so i always turn off all the music, but sometimes you cant turn off all the extra cinemagraphic effects which annoy me and make the buttkicker bottom out. wish they would take those out-like the extreme low frequency thunder sound they place in F1 2011 for dramatic effect when showing the cars on grid before a race. I end up having to turn the amp off after a race and back on whenever i am on track, annoying.

I just press the mute button on the amplifier remote .......Not as technically complicated as some solutions .....But I find it works perfectly :sly:

I dont have an amp at the moment, which is why I am experiencing so much more unwanted music/noise thats very difficult to filter out. The buttkicker gamer amp doesnt have a mute... I wish it did

When I was searching on E-bay quite a lot of good value amps came up from America :)

Thanks mate, I was actually thinking of buttkicker mini, but thanks, yeah simparts have good obutto and csR-E price

Just an update but not completely done yet. And thanx to all who have contributed they're ideas here, it really is a matter of experimenting with the settings to find what works best given the different receiving units and sound processing features.

Maybe one of the more experienced can jump in here (and while I'm envious of where you're at) but some may suggest rubber isolators in two separate places for your set up: between the frame itself and the seat mount (for the gamer2), and also the timber base and where it is screwed into the seat frame (Mini LFE's) - 'apparently' the effect is greatly enhanced with them added.

Yep, already have the isolators for the seat and 3/4" hard rubber is on its way for the entire bottom of frame itself (between floor and frame). Only timber used is the floor thats covered in vinyl, thats a piece of 14ga. steel that the mini LFE's are attached to not wood, I drilled and tapped the cross members of the seat frame and used loctite 242 on fasteners so it won't be coming loose lol. I appreciate the input tho 👍 I'll put more pix up when I add the isolators and 2 more tactile at the pedal area, I already have the metal to make the mounts/foot rests for the pedal area :)

Behringer A500 arrives tomorrow...
Now to order the 2 x Mini LFE's...
And after setting up will then look at a Behringer Ultragraph FBQ1502.

I asked to hold the shipping of my GamePod for the WPS and it is taking forever...

Excellent, pretty sure your getting excited, me too.

I'm going to be putting the behringer EP4000 through some testing next week onwards with twin LFE models, recently ordered a 2nd for the front end of my cockpit base. So my LFE channel will use dual 950watt RMS @4ohm hooked upto the new Asus Xonar Phoebus ROG 7.1 :)

Going to be an awesome new tactile experience me thinks...
Well I will report back on how my latest upgrade goes.

Can't wait to get back into continuing testing of ideas particularly having been waiting so long to start on my cockpit again.

If your serious about tactile on PC then it is wise to consider a dedicated quality card.

Phoebus seems to set a new benchmark in quality and diversity of settings with a great looking front end.
