Buy a PS4 to play GT6?

For those of us that purchased a PS3 solely to play GT5, I'm wondering what GT6 will have to offer beyond GT5 that would make the purchase of a PS4 worthwhile given that we already have 1080p, 3D, and online racing.

While its not yet confirmed that GT6 will be on the PS4, popular opinion seems to moving in that direction.

GT5 doesnt have true 1080p. I believe its closer to 960x1080.

I didnt buy the PS3 soley for GT5, but here are possible additions beyond GT5 that would make GT6 a PS4 system seller

Weather on all tracks
24 cars on track instead of 16
Improved A-Spec mode with more, better events and features like qualifying
Improved physics
Improved collision physics and damage
Improved graphics (shadows for one)
New steering wheel

In the end its a racing game. It cant reinvent the wheel. All they really need to do is tie everything together and not have so many features feel tacked on, poorly thought out, or half finished.

The main features for GT6 (if released on a ps4) to be a PS4 system seller is pretty much what Earth said imo. But other additional features what I would personally like to see is:

drive in convertibles
different pit crew animation strategies
livery editor
lots of aftermarket parts
ability to choose different interior colors for your car, not just exterior colors

Hopefully with it's release it would be a finish product.

I bought my PS3 mainly for MGS, GT and Blu Ray. MGS will probably be cross platform, so i dont have to worry for that.

I think I would also buy the PS3 just for GT6, if it is good. I am not rich, but I have the money and like gaming.

Will you add a poll?
We will get better physic, graphics and so on.

Well GT5 is reported to be 1280X1080p. The only real 1080p that was demonstrated was GTHD, which was of course canceled.

Anyway, with all the rumors flying around, I am personally preparing myself and saving up for the PS4. I don't why, but the GT in me needs to have GT6 as soon as possible, and it's starting to get blatantly obvious that it may very well be a PS4 game. It doesn't hurt to save anyway.

Other than that, I personally think GT6 can easily be a PS3 game and still be a big hit, but the clash between the game and next generation makes it very unlikely. But seriously, if we want weather/time change in every track, we can. If they can do it with the Nurbrugring 24hr, why not other, smaller tracks. A-Spec certainly doesn't need next gen for an overhaul. Cars already look stunning, including the interiors. 12-16 cars per track is good enough for me, and even if it drops, the framerate is pleasing. I'm also satisfied enough with the physics, for this gen at least. Bottom line, like GT2/GT4, if GT6 were for the PS3, I believe it would definitely be just fine, and not like how some people portray it like it's an absolute dumb decision.

Of course, next gen will bring more potential. I mean that's the point. Although I want GT6 to be for the PS3, I can't deny that it will probably be many times better if it were made for the PS4. You can't argue against better visuals and physics as those two alone are a big part to the experience that's worthy of admission. We just have to see it for ourselves. Hopefully, as soon as this year's E3.

I don't rush to buy consoles for games, so I will be able to read reviews and game feedback before any decisions are made. That said, if I get an XBox, it will be predominantly off the back of my opinion of the next Forza game.

I think this as well like what more can the ps4 really bring? It has everything. Only stuff I can think of is maybe it will be more android integrated and have the Android market. Something like that at least. Than Just minor things like better Internet browser, wirlessly N, usb 3 etc. It's still worth it to get for gt6 because you know it can do a ton and there are other good games. GT series, GTA series, uncharted, God of War, these games alone make it worth it. However I won't be buying one at launch if those are the only new things and it cost like $700. We'll see I think they will blow our minds truthfully. Sony's stock is right at the bottom so the really need to knock it out the park.

I might get a PS4, if GT6 looks good enough. I'm not very likely to buy any other games (unless Microsoft goes bananas and releases Flight Simulator for PlayStation) so it's either for GT6 or not at all. Of course it depends on the price as well.

GT6 alone is simply not enough for me to buy the next Playstation. I will wait a few years till the price drops significantly and a decent list of games are available. Did so with the PS3, which I bought in early 2010.

Physics, tuning/customization (cars and gameplay), improved online racing.

This is actually a tough decision for me as of now. As much as I'd like to keep up with the next GT, I'm still knee-deep with my PS3 and even PS2 games. There's simply too many games for me to catch up to, and with a new console, it will just make my backlog worse.

Unless something about GT6 really impresses me, I'm likely to wait until I finish most of my backlog for PS2 and PS3 before jumping to the next gen consoles.

Still baffles me that people buy gaming consoles just to play one game.

I'm guessing people are saying that right now, but they will end up buying other games. That is if the console is there main one. Or people that say that have money to burn.

Well there are people that have said they only own GT5 for PS3 and they haven't taken it out of the disc drive for 2 years, etc etc.

I just find it odd that someone would be into videogames but only one game. I mean sure I don't have a catalogue of 500 games but only buying one just seems odd. At the very least if you like racing/car games why wouldn't you buy some of the others?

Close. 1280x1080.

And as far as "what can PD do to make GT6 worth buying a PS4 over," your guess is as good as ours. We know nothing about what the next game will entail as far as featureset, and to be extremely pedantic we don't even technically know (as obvious as it may seem) if the game will even be on the PS4.

I did it, sort of, twice. I waited to buy my PS3 until after the E3 announcement of the release date for GT5. There were other games I wanted to play on the system (mostly MGS4), but I video games in general just weren't a priority then. I then bought my 360 a few weeks before FM4's release, and it's still only used for the Forza series (FM3 came with it).

Indeed. I can guess, but it's just guessing. And to be honest, after GT5, I think I'll be waiting until after release day, and seeing how the game is reviewed around these parts. I've had every GT (bar PSP) on release day since GT2, but I'm wary this go-round. Plus, if it does come to PS4, the price of the system will be a big determining factor.

PS3 was 800 euros when it came out and i suppose PS4 will be the same price so its bit expensive for one game only.

Sony can't release another console that expansive because it's far to expansive for most people. The rumors say 400$..and I think that's quite realistic because the new technology isn't that expansive (compared to PS3-technology when it was released) unless they don't give us a 256GB SSD-Memory.

I will buy my PS4 mainly for GT6. I'm sure I will play a few other games, but mainly GT6.

Also, I will not be buying any PS4 until GT6 comes out..Around 2020?:sly::crazy:

I won't initially. While I've always been a GT fan, the main selling point for me was the Blu-Ray player (and at the time it was one of the few with internet connectivity which was a huge plus).

While my PS3 works great as a Blu-Ray player, after owning it for nearly 5 years I've only purchased 4 games (2 of which are GT5:P and GT5). Unless the system itself has some killer feature, I'm going to wait quite a while.

I don't believe they do. However I do believe that one particular title will push people in that direction. Halo or uncharted series for example. Obviously they will play other stuff on it too.

GT has a great "replay" value.
Whether i get 100hrs a month of fun playing one game or four games, what's the difference. Only saving money.

I bought my ps3 just for gt5 and Ill buy a ps4 if gt6 is on it. Its the only game I play on playstation because I just cant get used to playing shooting games with a controller. If the frag fx works with the ps4 I might ditch pc gaming though.

I am not gonna get the PS4 regardless of whats being released for it. Advertisements in the middle of games? No discs at ALL? Complete BS.

It is complete BS yes, where have you read about those things? Both upcoming next-gen consoles are said to contain a Blu-Ray drive and that makes perfect sense, the world as a whole isn't ready for D/L only consoles. As for adverts in the middle of games, where have you heard that? It sounds rather preposterous.
