Buy a PS4 to play GT6?

Feb. 20th conference: Red curtains, first thing you see is Kaz Yamauchi with the PS4 on his left hand, GT6 on the other. Immediately a GT Academy winner is shown playing the game in real time, driving the new corvette around Seattle. Then he goes to the main menu (all in real time) and it shows 1000 cars, all premium, and proceeds to the "Classic F1" special event driving around a lotus in a 60s version of Monaco. Then he shows the new feature of changing cars in-game, selecting a 2013 Porsche Cayman.

Finally, Kaz does a 2 minutes long speech about the GT5-GT6 development cycle, apologizing then confidently saying fans won't be disappointed this time and that our hats will be blown off. He proceeds to show a 1 minute teaser that ends with "Available from: Today".

GTP is collapsed for 3 consecutive days. No posts for a week because everyone is focused on playing, not complaining.

I'll be complaining that there's no Rouen or Ferrari 250 SWB in it. Can't please everyone!

:sly:

it would have to have a seriously good single player and multi-class races. that said i still may not buy it because i like what Forza4 has to offer and could see myself buying the next xbox. I felt burned after getting the GT5 CE, wasn't worth the money.

Both are on the game's cover. Yes, the Nissan partnership expired and now it is with Ferrari.

GT6 needs a good story line something that adds excitement to the game and is better than Need for Speed games. For those of you who played Dirt to Daytona, arguably one of the best pioneers in storyline racing games, kind of like that where you choose which event you want to race until you get to the end where you race an X1 against the computer generated drivers.

I don't think GT fans are looking for a story though :ouch:

GT fans are not GT fans if they don't buy it with out knowing anything about the offline game play. a storyline would attract non-GT fans to the game which is what the game promoters are trying to do as well as get returning customers.

I'd much rather they focused on modelling cars and tracks and making races, but that's just me. Story just wouldn't work out well in GT I think.

Most of the "stories" in racing games have already been done to death, they're cliched. Driver makes his way to the top of the racing world, has a rivalry with some other guy, someone probably gets killed at some point and you go for vengeance on the bad guy. In fact it's straight out of Days Of Thunder with a few tweaks usually.

I'd like to see better structure and progression to the A-Spec mode but we don't need another cliched zero to hero racing driver storyline.

clearly you've never plaid Dirt to Daytona

No I haven't but I just read the description and it sounds exactly as I described.

In the Career mode, players have to start out in a Dirt racing series and work their way through the ranks of NASCAR to Winston Cup.

Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, every other racing game with a story.
