Buy a PS4 to play GT6?

No one is guessing I'm saying we're not guaranteed it will be worth investing money into. You say pretty low GT5 was and will remain the worse GT ever made(In my opinion, but I know for sure other people share that). When you have arcade racers, and even other sims beating you out that says a lot. I know I know arcade =/= sims, but at the end of this day and every other day for the rest of the existence of the earth it's still a doggone VIDEO GAME so no matter how realistic it tries to be it's a video game.

Again I'm not saying GT6 will be bad, but a lot more people are on their toes this time around with GT6 then GT5. If you want to be living in a fairy tale world where GT5 was the best game on PS3 be my guess. I'll be living in reality where it had worse career mode I've ever played, worst track selection, terrible car sounds(heck I'm not even no audio guy like that, but don't matter when a Corvette sounds like a messed up Vacuum cleaner that says a lot. Half-assed content WRC, Rallying period, and Custom Tracks come to mind.

Ok I'm done :) Of course this is all my opinion though

I live in a fairy tail believing GT5 is the best?? I never said GT5 was the best to begin with, I actually agreed that GT5 isn't that good of the series and want GT6 to seriously trump it. Also, I don't take my games seriously to the point they're my reailty, I know what's real or not real.

I highly doubt GT6 will even be anything like GT5, but different imo.

Sorry for double post. >_<
I'll believe it when I'll see it. Actually GT6 is low on my most wanted list:

1- Assetto Corsa
2- Project Cars
3- rFactor 2
4- GTR3 (?)
5- Race Room Racing Experience
6- Whatever Reiza studios will release
7- Forza Motorsport 5
8- Gran Turismo 6.

Okay, that is your decision. But did you noticed you're basically doing the same thing everyone else is doing for GT6? :dopey:

I'm definitley buying a ps4 just to play gt6 and not play great games like, uncharted, MGS, Fallout etc... pfft why would I play them when I can experience one genre for £300+ :dunce:

That's the same issue I have.

I waited so long for GT5, hoping it was going to be exactly what I wanted. In hindsight, that was a stupid decision - the game I wanted already existed on PC, no 5 year wait required.

With all that in mind, there is no way I'm waiting x amount of years for game that may or may not be what I want.

If GT6 was coming to PS3, I probably would have waited, but once you factor in the cost of the new console/waiting for the game, a gaming PC just make sense.

You do know PC gamers have been waiting over 6 years for GTR3 and 7 years for rFactor 2?

GTR2 wasnt perfect by any means, making the wait that much more agonizing. The AI simply cannot handle multi-class racing without it becoming a destruction derby, and thats why I gave up on it.

rFactor had issues with physics, no weather, and no AI help for endurance races.

Still though both had their fans waiting longer for sequels then PD ever has.

I dream almost everyday of a launch release :nervous:

So do I my friend. I even have my figures crossed for GT6 to be a launch title, I'll spring in glee if it does. :) Heres hoping on Feb 20th will have something along side the PS4, showing some teasers of Sony exclusives to show off the system's specs, such as Kaz being one of them to attend there. ;)👍

I've been putting $10 a week aside for quite awhile now specifically for buying a PS4/GT6 so I'm ready. :)

I hope so, but I will not get over excited! :scared: Oh darn, I did.

Feb. 20th conference: Red curtains, first thing you see is Kaz Yamauchi with the PS4 on his left hand, GT6 on the other. Immediately a GT Academy winner is shown playing the game in real time, driving the new corvette around Seattle. Then he goes to the main menu (all in real time) and it shows 1000 cars, all premium, and proceeds to the "Classic F1" special event driving around a lotus in a 60s version of Monaco. Then he shows the new feature of changing cars in-game, selecting a 2013 Porsche Cayman.

Finally, Kaz does a 2 minutes long speech about the GT5-GT6 development cycle, apologizing then confidently saying fans won't be disappointed this time and that our hats will be blown off. He proceeds to show a 1 minute teaser that ends with "Available from: Today".

GTP is collapsed for 3 consecutive days. No posts for a week because everyone is focused on playing, not complaining.

Funny.

Don't worry, I'm prepared for disappointment :ouch:
Haha. :)

lol! That would be a dream to have in reality.

:lol:If I was expecting that much, I'd have to have a word with myself.

I wrote and still think I'll be cautious on this console generation, not buying everything like I did on the past one. GT5 and the PS3 were disappointing and now the competition is objectively better, on consoles and on the pc.

If half of what I wrote is true I'd buy the PS4 and the game in a second. Every accessory, the most expensive version, probably 3 screens, get nissan and kaz tattoo.

Kaz tattoo  made me laugh. I would too, I just hope gt6 at least puts gt on par with forza.

Made me laugh until I got to the "Available from: Today" part.

Ruined the slim chance of this happening as well as reminding me of the Dreamcast "Available from Today" disaster. Not good.

I bought my PS3 mainly for MGS, GT and Blu Ray. MGS will probably be cross platform, so i dont have to worry for that.

I think I would also buy the PS3 just for GT6, if it is good. I am not rich, but I have the money and like gaming.

I hear you on that note bro, some of us can't afford race cars,so the next best thing is simulation, and if i paid 800$(best buy credit card)on the original ps3,then 400,500 won't be a bad deal, but i would love to see the pop up menu(similar to xbox 360),so we can play custom musicWHENEVER we want!!

I love GT5, I think its great. Could they have made it better? Sure.

I DON'T want GT6 to be a release title. I want the competition to stay right where it is until the price of the PS4 drops a bit.

I'd buy ps4 just for gt6. I usually only buy 4 to 5 games a system. I'm very picky.

Project Cars comes out in November..which is way sooner than GT6..I'm guessing. Project Cars will be my 4th ps3 game~

For those of us that purchased a PS3 solely to play GT5, I'm wondering what GT6 will have to offer beyond GT5 that would make the purchase of a PS4 worthwhile given that we already have 1080p, 3D, and online racing.

While its not yet confirmed that GT6 will be on the PS4, popular opinion seems to moving in that direction.

As you know, technology advances quickly. Comparing the update interval between PlayStation with hand-held device like smartphones can be the sole reason for an upgrade. The hardware inside PS3 is so out-dated that I demand something much better to be inside PS4. 1080p itself doesn't stand for anything but the screen resolution. You can have crappy textures and graphics on a 1080p monitor and it will still look like ****. If you have played Dirt 3 on a good PC with maximum graphical settings you will know what I am saying. The blur effect, reflective effect, the rain drops, and many other graphics rendered by PS3 are like crap, and they are easily visible on a 1080p display.

Yes, PS3 has the ability to output video in 1080p, but that doesn't necessarily imply that PS3 has the potential to do heavy calculations in real time to take the full advantage of an 1080p display. The processing speed is plain disappointing, PS3 hardware has not changed in speed but mere power consumption since its 2006 launch. Today many 2012/2013 ps3 games are still developed in the constraints of the hardware speed in 2006, and that has limited many graphics heavy games' potential.

At the end you will realize how much disappointment would be on my face if GT6 was scheduled to be released on a PS3. The hardware has limited the game by so much that it will be a complete waste to redesign this game on the PS3 again.

The only thing that limited GT5 was THE CELL if anything at all, and PD themselves.

Cause that didn't stop other people from making better games (some outright not just talking about racing either).

One thing that also messed PD up is that they didn't jump on the out sourcing train like Forza and T10 did.

Bet if they had done that we'd at least have all 1000 cars in premium or at least more than 500 at the very least.

The Cell CPU is what probably helped PD the most.

Outsourcing costs most likely a lot of money to that scale.

Buy a PS4 to play GT6? That's like buying a case of a Sam Adams seasonal collection for only 2 of the beers in it.

... couldn't help it.

Not only the cell but the GPU.

Tell me, what can you expect on a 7750 like graphics card?

And here's a list of video games that were released in 2006.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_in_video_gaming

Now I would say Battlefield 2142 has some good graphics indeed, but if you were to compare Battlefield 2142 with Battlefield 3 you would know which is "crap" and which is "amazing graphics".

Seriously, GT5 had amazing graphics in 2006, and that's all about it.
