No V8 Supercars?

I hate any form of Nascar. I think they made a bad mistake to put it in GT5 cause its thee most boring sport ever besides the crashes which can be intresting.
And I think that's among the most hilarious lines on this forum right now.

Well, we should at least get an equivalent to the Formula GT series of GT4. Hopefully with a few more options as far as the Formula GT cars go, as well as the F2007, which I hope will come with a few real life friends as well :D?

There's a alot of things I'd like to see long before seeing other forms of nascar. I dont mean to offend fans of NASCAR, I can appreciate it being in the game, but there doesn't seem much point in putting other forms of it in there too. I'd much rather the time be spent putting other race series in, or more tracks, or more anything really :P

I sort of agree, but the trucks are a totally different animal than the cars.

There are only a few series' I wish were in GT5 that haven't been in it yet.
- Rolex Sports Car Series
- Australian V8 Series
- DTM (There were a few cars in GT4, but not many)
- CORR (Competitive off-road racing)

I agree that NASCAR is boring, and I'm not really a fan, but I'm going to play the hell out of it in GT5. And it's the biggest spectator sport in America, so for us to say it's boring is only a small opinion

Ah I forgot to mention the V8 Supercars, they definately rank among my favourite racing series. Iam European and I rarely watch NASCAR, but i can see that it requires skill and is a kind of motorsport that deserves to be in Gran Turismo. Its not my favourite, but i like the cars and the technology that is involved, though many underestimate it.
GT will become bigger and better with every iteration and in the "end" with GT15 or so, we will have every car that has ever been build and every license for every series that has ever existed.

Do I wish for something else then NASCAR to be in GT5? Probably, but I accept Kazunoris choice and as long as they manage to capture the spirit of NASCAR, the series will gain more fans in europe for sure.
If NASCAR is done right, they might add the trucks aswell, but before they do, they should add something else, like V8 Superstars, Formula 1 or BTCC and DTM.

I think GT has captured most large sports in each large territory. Granted F1 is the largest overall, but rally is quite big in Europe, NASCAR is huge in the states, (a lot bigger than AMLS or our Koni touring car series, or whatever else) and in Japan Super GT is big. It's great to pull everyone into the pool to help sales in each region.. Not like sales would have struggled anyway.

I was merely pointing out how you were so certain we wouldn't have trucks or any other NASCAR series besides the top-level Sprint Cup. As far as I know, PD have never specified exactly what they mean when they say they have NASCAR, as it's not just one series.
I don't think anything is certain, I just based my thoughts primarily on what we actually know as fact. What we know is that the Sprint Cup cars as you call them are in GT5, and that's it. The simple fact that we've known about PD's NASCAR license for a while and not seen any evidence of aynthing but Sprint Cup cars is, in itself suggestive that thoes are all we'll get. I am by no means certain that thoes are all we'll get, but my orignal post was aimed at the various comments that were suggesting that there is no reason the trucks couldn't be implemented. I am still confused how you pick my comments that there is no evidence to suggest that we'll get trucks or that they are licensed as opposed to the comments suggesting that they are licensed and there's no reason PD couldn't/shouldn't include them.

If you are simply making a point about nothing being certain, then I agree, I've said as much all along. But there are plenty of posts and this very thread itself that are suggestive of one thng or another and based simply on what we know, they are very possibly wrong.

I doubt we will get to drive the latest F1 cars ( classic F1 cars more likely ), so i'll go with others here & mention v8 Supercars plus BTCC.If endurance races are in & probably are in, Ozzy peeps i guess would like the James Hardie 1000 at Bathurst to compete in :).

I do agree with you that we will probably only get the Sprint Cup cars, as those are the only ones we've seen so far. All I'm saying is that until we have the final feature list, we shouldn't assume anything one way or another.

I'm sorry that I came across as belligerent, it's nothing personal; I'm just getting tired of all the rampant speculation lately. :nervous:

These colors don't run, yer dad gum right-turner!

I hear,I would love to see PD make a ALL-OUT NASCAR game,From your local track such as Bowman Gray Stadium to Daytona International Speedway and Bandolero/Legends Cars to Sprint Cup would be cool.

Then it would be plain simply a NASCAR game with half of the tracks being from all diferent divisions of NASCAR (If you ask local tracks to be included the amount would surpase the 60 tracks PD has hinted), and a couple of cars (one for each make (Ford/Chevy, Etc.) with various hundreds of liveries (Dupont #24, Home Depot #20, Budweiser #8, Etc.)from NASCAR.

[SARCASM]If everyone asks for their local touring car championship with their local tracks I guess we could even have the Colombian TC200 with the "Autodromo de Tocancipa":

Despite your sarcasm, small local touring car championships are great and I'd love to see more included. Like in GTR evo, some of the STCC tracks are some of my favourite tracks in the game.

When you're making a game with 1000 cars in it, putting in the little touring car series from here and there is a good idea IMO. The only other thing I'd like to see is open wheelers ;)

I don't deny they're great and make for some interesting competition ;), what I mean is that this is a game for a very broad audience and casual gamers might get bored with things as anoraky as local championships from countries you didn't know existed. Only major "local" championships like the , DTM, Super GT, and NASCAR are featured on it. I wouldn't care having more tracks, and more cars, I just think they aren't going in specially since the game is almost done and they arent very appealing.

Maybe Konami could make a banger racing game.Or the people that made IRacing.Maybe the team behind RBR could develop it.

Truck racing games are pretty good on the whole.I wouldn't mind seeing a truck racing championship.Anyone here remember Mercedes Benz Truck Racing ? ( pc ).

Yeah I know what you mean, but I'd like to see little touring car championships from places I've never heard driving cars I've never seen before. They often offer interesting competition in a different style to the major championships. Kinda like I'd rather drive some lower powered open wheelers on interesting tracks rather than F1 on the major tracks.

Hi new her to this forum but have been here reading the treads....

I would really like to see all the Super Tourers of the 90`s... Oh man that were the glory days of motor racing in my opinion...

But more the merrier I say guys.... Maybe GT6 will see the most off the popular racing series. It wouldn`t hurt I say....

Cheers Kevin

They are another type of car to add to the extensive list, I see no reason why they shouldn't be included, in fact, I'm all for their inclusion.

At least GT4 included the Doge RAM and some Toyota pickup. If we get them in GT5 aswell (they are in GT PSP aswell) and visual tuning, we might be able to build cars, that are similar to those trucks.

I know its not the real thing, but since we might be able to do visual tuning to an extend that allows us to recreate every touringcar or truck on the planet you do not have to wish for every little locar racing series to be in GT5.

I know, but the racing at Fontana puts me to sleep, while at 'Dega, it's likely to be more exciting.
