Never ever ever ever ever !
This is really starting to Bug me now. Every other question is being put to Kaz as to what cars will be in GT5 and it's new features. But what about asking why a good majority of us keep and still get the Error Message Failed To Connect to Host along with [60.29000000].

Will this be something to look forward to for GT5 online so that more of us will become even more upset about the lack of Connection and more Failed to Connect to Host messages.

All I know is that shortly after GT5TT Demo came on the scene I can no longer connect and if I am lucky to connect I am forced to be a spectator or my PS3 freezes up with a blank screen therefore causing me to hold the power buttton for five seconds so that it will turn off and to start the madness all over again.

Honestly what is up??
:grumpy:

Would be a fair question if it were hosted on the PDNetwork, and not PSN.

Have you tried other races to get connected?
When I have this I save and try another race, that usually works 90%...

BTW I too hope PD will improve online a lot, it's kinda joke we can't choose what track/ cars we want to race ( = host our own rooms ).

Yeah I have tried to connect to other races but I only seem to be able to connect mostly the the 10 Lap race events which have only myself and either one or two others.

I managed to get into Fuji 800pp Expert yesterday with a GTP Member who on the second lap was able to make his BNR defy the laws of physics to punt me off the track at turn two. How did he defy the laws of physics you ask?? Well I dont know if it was down to Low bandwidth connection but his BNR moved sideways and just took me out as if I was a fly on a Bulls Arse being swatted by it's tail. When that happend I just gave up because I had been trying for an hour and a half to have an online race so I just gave up.

GT4 is looking more pleasing as always recently because of the choice of tracks but also to get some more practice with my DFGT. I've reached my limit on GT5TT demo so until the GT5 Demo comes out I'm done with Prologue.

Hmm, yeah that's weird. I think it could be because you guys try to connect to the pro races and there's only few other people to connect with? I almost only play intermediate races, getting usually 10-12 players per race.
However I agree some journalist should ask KY next time what's up with it and maybe how he intends improving the online for GT5. :scared:

Sounds like you're just unlucky and are too far away from other people, so you're timing out of most of the hosts. That or your internet connection is letting you down.

London is too far away? ... from where? ;)
I get connected to US and JP hosts and I'm in a small town in Germany.
I also have two different ISPs to choose from atm, one is cable 20Mbits, the other is DSL 3Mbits, works fine with both, I don't think connection should be a problem in London.

I meant, a combination of a slow connection and constantly being connected with hosts in Australia for example (which is quite common) would contribute to timing out. Not necessarily there is no one in the UK to connect to, its just he might be really unlucky and is joining games when there is few local matches.

Ah, I see ok. Would still be a lot of bad luck involved constantly, which I have a hard time to believe.

I have tried all different times including from 1am to 6am with the same results. Who I match up with is not the problem I dont think, but it could be down to the server and how they are routed for each country. I do know that the UK shares its servers with Spain and Germany.....but I have always had JP,US,CH,CA,SA,UK,ES,DE and a few other's in races but it seems the matching process does not always macth me up with an abundance of racers. My connection is good so I dont know.

2-3 or maybe 8 racers could be in a race with me and the rest of the time just fail to connect. No other game acts this way but GT5P and GTA.

It's a shame

Spawn you are not alone,,every GB freind i have ,this happens too. Also a few french, italian and spanish. It happens at least 2 times in 10 matches to me..I know Boogalooo08 is having great problems with this very issue.

Here I go again ..... I've been posting this issue since last summer. I get the Failed to Connect about 90% of the time. I always get into the first race I enter and then Fail at every attempt after that. Once again, let me say .... There is nothing wrong with my connection!!!

- I had 100% connections for over a year and then last summer when PD changed the parameters for the host to migrate, I started having the problem.

- I have no difficulty what so ever getting into races in the 6 other racing games I have that support online.

- Since I am retired, I race at all hours of the day and night ... there is no difference between 10am and 3am or 1pm or whatever !

- It has nothing to do with there being few people to match with. I try to match with large groups of friends who are all matching at a specific time.

- There are no Firewalls in place to complicate things.

- I have spent over $600 trying to fix the problem (new router, new modem, new PS3, new DSL provider and 2 house calls by a trained profesional IT technician.

- Abandoned wireless connection even though it worked perfectly for over a year and hardwired directly to the modem.

- I have checked my connection speed and ping rate which are better than most of my friends who connect easily.

- I have tried every single thing anyone on this forum has ever suggested including wiping the hard drive and starting from the very beginning with new account, and new game save.

Nothing I have done has had any effect what so ever !

- Repeated inquiries sent to Sony's Customer Service are answered with "boiler plate" responses providing links to the FAQ on how to make a wired and wireless connection. No recognition of the problem what so ever !

Having exhausted all options I have had to quit playing Prologue. I am most upset by Sony's attitude (PD and Sony are one and the same as far as I am concerned). Both of my older Sony TV's have been replaced by Samsung units now as I am no longer a loyal Sony customer :indiff:

Getting PD to simply acknowlege the issue is a major victory, so this is an excellent question to put to the Kaz himself :)
