Im sad that we don't get considered for GT Academy. I placed 481 in 8-5 in two tries. And it doesn't mean anything.

Stupid PD.

What do you mean Considered for gtacademy? like not invited to the event in person? Although the 400's is impressive (im in like 140K region) i thought was for like the top 15 in the world.

Yes, its not PD's fault at all. Its Canada's laws that pohibit you from taking part in this so go complain to your government, not us.

I've met quite a few Canadians that are faster than Jesus, and I agree it's a shame they can't compete.

Whatever it takes, I also think they should be included in future competitions, be it government or whatever. If it is government preventing participation, you'd likely have more luck convincing PD to start up a North America studio division there, like in Montreal or Toronto.

At this point were beating a dead horse...

Well, excuse me. I was only adding my 2 cents so the OP wouldn't think it was just one guys response who may/may not be misinformed. You know, kinda like backing him up. I've seen you do the very same thing and thats ok, but someone else does it and you have to act like a mod. Like I said, pardon me.

Whoa, back down man. I was agreeing with you.... :odd:

Sorry then. I just took your response the wrong way then. It was like you were telling me to shut up because the OP had already been responded to with what I just reiterated. If that wasn't the case, then my misunderstanding.

Since you know everything about our government and laws, would you care to explain? As far as I know, lotteries have to be run by governments or with a license so that's why most things need a skill testing question to win. It makes it a contest and not a lottery. In this case, the skill testing part should be your lap time so I don't see the problem.

Canada's just plain and simply boring. (I am currently living in Canada.)

That, and the eligibility states that you can't have raced in ASN/FIA sanctioned karting events for more than two seasons; I have.

So, while I live in Canada, and have more than two seasons of ASN Canada FIA sanctioned karting events, I can't get in.

In all seriousness, though, the Canadian government is annoying; this might be why the Québecois are considering sovereignty; GT Academy! Obviously! :dopey:

I got a #146 and got excited, because I knew I still had time to lose. It just won't happen. SO, be happy that we're even able to download GT Academy, enjoy the racing on Motegi, and e-mail your local PMs. :)

LOL! Loto Quebec is one of the worst for controlling contests like this. You need a special permit ($) to hold any contest like Academy here...

I was quite disappointed to see the red "reject" when I tried to register :banghead: But it's something that you see all too often.

I have to get the G27 installed in my rig today and see if I can do any better than 900-something

Stupid PD OP.

Fixed, it is your laws, stop blaming PD and or Sony! Besides, 481 doesn't mean anything anyway and is a long way from 32.

You're right! PD is so damn stupid for not thinking about Canada.

Oh wait, 95% of all the countries in the world don't have a GT Academy. What makes Canada so special?

What's the purpose of the law that prevents the Canadians involvement?

Also, correct me if I am wrong, is it true that many of the countries with GTA will not be giving a racing contract but only some kind of cool package? Kind of like the indy500 trip a few years back here in the US.
