yeah, it was a good race indy, i was trying to save fuel on the last few laps there as the McLaren is a very thirsty car. Not once did i crank up the revs to max, only stanfard and lean. I actually didn't like the safety car as i was 5secs behind but you still had to put on primes for the last stint as i put mine on 1st pit stop. I had to put primes again under safety car as i knew they were the right tyre to get me to the end. A few bumps and nudges towards the end there but entirely legal and quite fun. I opened my DRS too soon on last cnr, tried to move to the outside while it was open and i now know why you cant turn with it open. Luckily it was the last lap as i hit the wall and lost front wing, how embarrasing had a wrecked it on the last cnr on the last lap :D
 
Artmann, you would have been just like the guy who hit the wall on the last lap and the last corner of the Indy 500 last year :lol: forget who it was, didn't watch the actual race :)
 
Sounds like a very crazy race, congrats to Indy on the win 👍. Just curious, what was the pole time?
 
Just to let you guys know. I made a mistake with the AI tonight (stress with jobs/weddings etc. I am supposed to leave empty spots if human players dont turn up. My bad and they have been removed from the race results so some of you will get more points than you are expecting.
Great turn out tonight lets hope Ferrari and Sauber turn up next week :lol:

J.R. Hildebrand, could've made history of being the 1st rookie driver to win the Indy 500 but derped and Franchiti took the win

jcm- Pole was 1:21.1xx by Falcon, beat my time by 1 sec
Fastest lap was 1:22.877 by worduphomes
 
Was damage simulation on? I saw wordup going faster and faster after my pit stop, without a front wing, especially around corners :lol:
 
OP is done chaps, have a gander and tell me if there are any mistakes. Remember any driver not on the standings board has been removed and the drivers that finished after him (Alonso for example) have been moved up 👍
Next week ill get that bit right.

hmm interesting, i'm sure if damage simulation is off if you crash too hard you will still have terminal damage. Maybe wordup was using a 2011 spec car with a lowered front wing.
Oh, and it was 29 laps berty
 
Sometimes the visuals can glitch out, so it might look like someone doesn't have a front wing when they actually do have a front wing.

I think there is something not right with the forum time or something, I thought I posted on the thread at 9.42pm, yet you post afterwards stating it's only 9pm?

I sent you a message on PSN around 9.45pm (I think) asking if it was too late, that was right after posting that message I just quoted.

Noone sent me a message or an invite so I assumed the race had already started.

Didn't the race start at 9.30pm?

I'm confused.

Ah, I just saw the last part. Very impressive. I got into the Red Bull and entered GP mode and did 10laps, and while I did get a 1:20.7, I don't expect to be that fast everywhere, as the person who did the gear ratios (DarkPSI) has only showed his full setups on certain tracks, as he focuses mostly on showing you how to make your on setup, meaning that at most tracks my gear ratios won't be as good [/run-on sentence].

I also do have a lot more practice in Australia compared to most other tracks, so don't read into the time too much.

And just for comparison, my quali time in the HRT at Australia was 1:24.8xx, 4.1s slower then Red Bull at Australia on options - though I do feel that the Red Bull lap probably had a few more tenths missing then the HRT lap, so probably more of a 4.5s difference.

Hazard- check out the OP, joining time is 855-910 this is when we all join the room. You cant join after quali has begun at 910 the game wont let you. While I am qualifying/racing I cant message/invite you.

Indy- Yes he is, I changed his flag last week 👍

jcm- You play this game so much (and with the HRT car) I am going to read too much into the time you set :lol: I am getting whatever points I can until you join!
 
Race Report:

This was by far the most exciting race I've had on F1 so far.

Qualifying:

I qualifyed in 6th place after 3 laps which was very nice and still had 80% of my option tyres left for the first stint. I had Mike just behind me two tenths back and I could feel him breathing down my neck at race start. :lol:

Race:

The race started and I got a good start by getting into 5th on the first turn. I then went into 4th on turn 2 as I saw Falcon brake too late and go into the sand. I was then battling the 2 crazy welshman Brett and Mike but they were putting me under pressure and Mike passed me. Brett was getting closer and closer so I had to up the speed which caused me to go wide on the 3rd and 4th to last corners and as I joined back I crossed Bretts path which span me off, I hit the wall and lossed my front wing. I also got a collision drive through penalty........ I pitted, got a new wing and tyres then did my drive through.

I was now in 24th and it was game on so I put my foot down and took some places Smartheart at 16th and then Tyrell at 14th. Then out came the safety car, thanks Falcon, Sandman was in front of me and we were having a great race I took him then I pitted for tyres 6 laps left so I went for it! Fuel mix 3 and went mental, however, on lap 19 yellow flag came out and I didn't realise you cam't overtake yeilding cars so thats where the 20 secong penalty came from Tyrell :lol:.

I finished the race in 7th which was a great finish, probably why I found it so fun. 24th to 7th, lots of action and a great race, cheers.

Sandman - SC was weird, you went wide and I carried on going thinking it would autobrake me but it just let me pass you :lol: then when I went to let you pass again it wouldn't let you :lol:

Indy- I had one going with SM but we havent done much of late, ill check with him if its still happening 👍

Crap! So sorry. Summer is almost here and people already on their air con's, which is gonna cut out the power quite a few times this summer. Hope this doesnt happen again on a wednesday!
 
Well we had 4 missing yesterday if its the same next week you can have a seat. Maybe on a permanent basis if you show 👍
 
Its done mate, there is no publication just driver codes that represent how everyone is getting on for my records 👍
