I'll try to be there. With the time difference between East and West I might miss it though.

Our Friday night sessions are usually later in the evening so the West coast can join in, but it will still be kinda early your time, like 6 or 7 I think. Hope ya can make it!

I have been thinking about the reverse grid/pole position issue and may have come up with a fairly simple and efficient solution
.
Basically I might be able to prevent the situation from happening by starting the second race IMMEDIATELY after the first race so nobody has time to leave the room and re-enter. I will post a message in the chat box before the first race begins saying that once the race finishes everyone is to go directly back into the pits, no going to the tuning screen or leaving to make an oil change because I will be starting the next race right away.

After a couple races everyone will be fairly well trained in the procedure and will know to go directly to the pits after the first race of the double-header ends. If for some reason a driver is able to get out and get back in, thus unjustly getting the pole I will give the whole room instructions that driver X will be pulling over on the first lap (at the first safe spot) to let the field by.

I doubt anyone will exit just to get pole for the second race: It's not that sort of series. Saying that, if it did happen, I think the solution you have will do the job very nicely. You could even have a designated 'pull over' point for any perpetrator(s). If it could be proved that the person exited just to get pole, perhaps a drive through penalty would be a better penalty?

As to starting the race immediately, there will always be exceptions, but common sense should prevent these from becoming problems: A late arrival may miss qualifying and complete the first race but then need to change transmission or some other settings. Common sense would dictate that they should be given a minute or two to complete these changes.

There are also those with weak bladders to consider... :)

Hmmm, you've just brought up an interesting point. There are certain series that feature two heats that dont allow modifications to be made to the cars between heats. WTCC is one that comes to mind. I think DTM carries some penalties for certain changes to the cars as well.

Would we want to include such a rule? If so, how would it be enforced?

is this still open, i would like to enter :) i have not built my cappy yet but it looks like so much fun, i may register today or tommorow at the latest can i add you Stighero? thankyou in advance, is there an age limit?

I don't think anybody would do it intentionally either, but the situation could arise and I just want to have something in place for it instead of trying to react on the fly. I think a drive through penalty would be a little too harsh because they would totally lose touch with the field. I'm hoping that just asking them to pull aside will be sufficient, if it's not then we will move to a different system. So far in this series everyone does an exceptional job of following instructions so I think we will be fine.

As for the making changes between races issue, it's not that I have a problem with letting people make changes between races but if I let 1 or 2 people do it then other people might do it which would open a window of opportunity for people to leave the room and re-enter (even if it's just on accident or because they're not thinking about it). So in the interest of promptness and consistency I just have to say it's off limits. If you're entering the race that late and don't have your car setup than that's the price you'll have to pay.

And for those with weak bladders, the double-header races are setup to total the same length as the enduro so if you can make it through the longer races you should be fine. Or just consider it bladder training for the enduro's. lol

Yes, we're still taking drivers. The official Season 3 thread should be going live tomorrow or Tuesday at the latest. Feel free to add me on PSN (ID: BrandonW77). When building your car, after you do the race modification be sure to go to the cars "settings" screen (where you can adjust suspension, transmission, etc.) and click the box next to the titanium racing exhaust. The RM process purchases it but does not install it. After you get about 180-200 miles on your car do an oil change and you should be up to 137 hp. And be sure to shift at 8,000 RPM, the torque drops off sharply after that. 👍

i noticed the torque drop haha! i cant wait to drive with you guys, its a squirmy little car though! anyway here's my registration form :)
Car: Number 19
Car/Wheel colour:a pale greeny blue/some white wheels.
PSN: GT350GT (can you add me, i forget easy :D )
Tuesday:Sometimes
Friday&Saturday:Yes
Primary Points night: Friday&Saturday
Hope this is okay, can you tell me the time difference between U.K and you? Thanks.

Hey guys, I was messing around with tuning and I noticed my Capp just dropped in power from 137 to 135. Help?

Oil change or engine rebuild. Might as well rebuild chassis too if the oil change don't resolve the power loss.

You'll have to do an oil change about every other week, engine rebuild once or twice per season.

I've got a fun little addition for the next season: Spot Race Sundays, a chance for us to race at different tracks in cars other than our Cappuccino's. :) Myself or anyone else can open a room at a scheduled time and we can race whatever the room votes on. Maybe have some suggested themes like Japanese night, Trucks night, STi vs. Evo night, etc. As long as somebody's in the room it can stay open so people can come and go as they're able and just have some good old fashioned racing. :)

Very informal, no points or prizes.

Sounds good. I have done some racing with the recommended garage cars. Great way to go as everyone has the same car without the tuning differences. Dont have to worry about not having a car for the race either.

Sounds very much like the Monday Night Fun Racing event. There's a limit on tyres, but all driving aids are allowed and the host picks the track and the car(s) you will be driving.
As the cars are picked from the online garage, no tuning can be done so it levels the playing field a bit.

Recommended garage could be one of the themes. 👍 My thinking behind this is that we all enjoy racing together but rarely get to drive anything other than our Cappuccino's, so this would just be a set time for us to get together in a non-Cappuccino setting so we can enjoy racing together in different disciplines. On Sunday's our current Round will have finished but I'm sure we're all still looking to do some weekend racing, so why not get together with our Cappy Pals!

Again, there would be no points, no rules or procedures, no set schedule and it would have nothing to do with the Capp Cup besides involving members of the Capp Cup. Anybody could host a room, heck we could even have 2 rooms going running 2 different themes. And the themes would just be loose guidelines, I'm sure after a couple of theme races the room will devolve to crazy jumps at Eiger and Demo Derby's at everywhere. And that's just fine! :)

By the way, I got a lot of work done on the Season 3 thread over the weekend. I plan on putting the finishing touches on it today and hope to have it go "live" sometime today or tomorrow at the latest. 👍

Also, I'm thinking about holding official Pre-Season events this week at Tsukuba. We will do a full race program of qualifying and double-header races on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at our normal times. There will be no official points awarded but it will give everyone a chance to get a feel for the format and drivers with new Capp's will have a chance to get some miles on them before Round 1 at Suzuka East.

Sound good?

That sounds good. I've missed driving the Capp these past few weeks - It's no fun driving it on your own either!

i thought the proper season started now
and is it me or is the cappuccino a bit squirmy (the back-end) plus can you add me to the list :)
