**CAR OF THE WEEK! Friday 25/05/12**

Thanks.

Yes, I did it at work on lunch and didn't read through properly. I've reworded some bits to make it more clear (hopefully) 👍

Where is everybody this week? No love for the Civic?

Its to be expected. Everyone knows the Camaros and Shelbys. I was just as skeptical, till I drove it! Now, the Car of the Week has become like an arsenal of secret weapons.

I love this car 👍 I know the week is running late, but even after this week I will still be enjoying this car. Probably post a tune for it as well :dopey:

Great choice as always. I'm really enjoying the car of the week threads 👍

My friends know my '79 and '83 Civics VERY well! I've been using both for almost a year to kick @$$ and take names below 207hp, I've got mine riding stiff as bricks (those cars eat it up) and they corner like go-karts! They make excellent rally cars as well.

There's a reason I own 5 (yes, no joke, FIVE) '79 Civics alone plus another 4 '83 Civics, they're some of the best cars in the game and they take hardcore track punishment like candy!👍 I swear that anything your car under 207hp can do, that '79 Civic can do better!

The '67 Mercury Cougar would be fun to see at some point, it's sort of this "lost" muscle car with earth-shattering torque. I've been in tow trucks with Chevy big-block 366 and 427 tall decks, that 390 Ford FE has zero competition short of a diesel for sheer, unadulterated, raw force to turn tires just off idle! Ask any old school Ford trucker if they'd rather have a 460 or 390, the answer will be 460 for the high-powered mud truck and the 390 to pull it the trailer that 460 truck rides on haha! The FE put the Pontiac block to shame and its torque production was rivaled only by the Buick big-blocks (that 455 with 510ft-lbs at 2800rpm is pretty tough to beat even for diesel).

@ Enzo Guy:

Yes, the Ford 390 is an often over looked motor...but not by those that have just had their *ss handed to them by one 👍

I read that as "SS" and not the expletive that was originally intended.

Yep, Ford guy.

Back on topic, I couldn't find a decent set of wheels.

Can you tell I can't wait until the next COTW? So I went and did it, just couldn't wait. I didn't want to do anything to permanantly damage enhance the old Honda so I bolted on a big ol turbo! Just to make sure everyone knew I meant business I painted her an even uglier shade of orange and installed a black wing and rims. I figured if I can't pass the opposition maybe I can scare them into wrecking when they see me coming. Hey, I am driving a 30+ year old Honda 4-banger so I will take whatever advantage I can find :)

What I ended up with was 147hp/410pp, still giving up 20pp for the seasonals. Out at the test track I posted these numbers:
1/4 mi / 15.766
1.0 mi / 39.671
0 - 60 / 7.424
to 100 / 17.953
max G / 0.49
max spd / 120.3
I cut nearly 4.2 seconds off my best lap at Deep Forrest with a lap of 1:35.847

So it was off to the seasonals! I was feeling to cheap thrifty to spring $10K on a full custom tranny after I just spent $3mil on a couple of new race cars so I wasn't even going to try and hang with the pack at Daytona. There were still 4 other races however.
At Tsukuba I posted a best lap of 1:09.740 for a 3rd place finish, 3.5 seconds and two spots better than before. I got a win at Cape Ring with a lap of 2:02.047! At Cubman I got a disapointing 4th lapping at 1:07.599. I posted another podium, third again at Eifel Kart with a 1:09.067. Not too bad overall, besides, I earned about $1.3mil to help offset the cost of those new race cars. Speaking of new race cars...see ya!

^ nice pic, looks pretty good in black and even more Golf-like with those wheels. I almost did my red track version in Nighthawk Black Pearl but I decided went for something more 'angry'. May yet change it though.

I was wanting something more glossy, but I think it turned out well.

Bring on the next car!
