car reviews

now, I know what your thinking. "What does this kid know? what makes him think he can just review cars like he knows everything?" well, may I just say, I can't say I'm really qualified for this. I just thought it would be fun. all I ask is that you read this post before saying "This kid only has 16 posts, what does he know?" and clicking the back button. this week, for my first review, I will review the McLaren F1. For these reviews my test track will be the Curcuit De La Sarthe (no chicane). this track is great to test handling, and a 3 and a half mile straightaway to test the real top speed.

So, The McLaren F1. Before Bugatti butted in, this was the fastest street legal car in the world. As you can see, the F1 in the picture is in the grass. I did this because that is where you will be most of the time in this car. If you so much as touch the throttle in this car, you will find yourself listening to that top 40 hit, Crunching metal. Seriously, It's the worst handling car I've ever driven. Now, since this was the fastest car ever in the 90s, I assumed I could get this sucker up to 230 (370 KPH), or 240 MPH(386 KPH). But, that was not the case. With a top speed of 210 MPH (338 KPH) the Veyron whipped this car hard. The wikipedia for this car said it set its record with a speed of 240 MPH, and may I just say, they must have had a heck of a lot of track, and I can safely say that this car will not reach that speed in GT5. However, there is a redeeming quality: adding a wing. Adding a wing to this car for 50,000 credits seems like a total rip, right? Wrong. When a wing is added to this car you leave that overrated Veyron in the dust. Seriously, my super tuned Veyron was beat by an F1 with nothing but a wing by almost a whole second. This car is definitely worth the money. So you have a choice: 1,000,000 credits for a crappy car, or 1,050,000 for an amazing car. Now for the important part: looks. Seriously, you take a Zonda C12, a Corvette from the 90's, and just a sprinkling of Gallardo, and you get the 2nd fastest car in the world. With a sleek low down look, and triangular doors, this car definitely gets an 8/10 on looks.
And the final portion of the review, it's time around La Sarthe. (with a wing)

So, I hope you like my review of this car, feel free to comment and tell me wether I know what I'm talking about or not. My next car review will be the Ferrari Enzo, and I am asking for photos through PM's to use in the review.

I like the review and it also shows how to improve a car if it's handing madly 👍 Keep it up

Okay, I said something about how I would be reviewing a car once a week, but I think I'm just going to be doing it whenever I have time. I'll have my review of the Enzo up soon.

Nice. My only point of contention is on the looks. Really, the other cars you've mentioned are more likely to have taken their styling cues from the F1, but I see your intent in the comment. I also think I'd rate it a little higher than an 8. :sly:

Constructively, I'd like to see you put some more detail in such as how you find the handling in various corners. Are you getting over or understeer on entry or exit? Are the brakes sufficient for the car? I like that you stuck in the bit about how you can enhance the F1 with the wing. That was excellent.

So you aren't concerned what people think about your qualifications are for reviewing cars but you're worried they won't like your pictures? :odd:

Bah says I! Take your pics and let the whiners whine. They will regardless. Besides, if you do your own you will gradually get better. Practice makes perfect blah blah blah. ;) Check out the photomode forum for the camera guide and go from there. You'll be glad you did. 👍

Alright, the wait is over, the review of the Enzo is here!
sorry, I lost my flashdrive, so no pics in this entry! :(

alright, the ferrari enzo. Ferrari's most expensive road car. first let me get this out there, it is NOT worth the money. I mean, this car isn't bad, per-say, but it's not really all that good. The car isn't all that fast, with a top speed of 215. don't get me wrong, that's insanely fast, but when I'm paying 1 million credits for a car, I'm expecting more than that. The car also doesn't seem to have very good suspention. i was driving the Enzo down the straightaway in the Le Sarthe, and that thing was shaking like a leaf. not that It would affect anything in gran Turismo, but it's just kind of unnerving and awkward to watch. The car's handeling is not super great either. It's got kind of a lot of oversteer, and it's kind of hard to correct. The looks aren't even that good either. I would understand the enourmous pricetag if the car looked spectacular, but it really just looks like a big ol' boring car. It looks fast, but it doesn't look good. If you look at it really closely, the 2 sides of it look kind of... asymmetrical. so for looks it gets a 4/10. the only reason I got this car is that Top Gear has called this the "Rock Star Car." and now, it's time around the la sarthe:

alright you guys, either sometime tonight or tomorrow morning, I will have a review of the Lamborghini Murchialago.

Interesting. I usually read that the Enzo has loads of understeer in the corners. I have yet to try it myself but with the seasonals paying out so much now perhaps I will give it a go.Right on with the looks though. It is quite hideous.

I do like your short and snappy reviews however may i recommend to do a direct comparison you split it into sections ie: cost, handling, power/speed, etc?

Also i dont quite understand how the f1 only got a lap time of 1 second quicker than the enzo, thats very odd!

Alright! I promise, after this wednesday my reviews will be a lot more frequent, as the sweet relief of summer vacation will be upon me.
this time: Lamborghini Murcielago
still no pics! sorry.

The Lamborghini Murciélago is a two-door, two-seat sports car produced by Italian automaker Lamborghini between 2002 and 2010. Successor to the Diablo and flagship of the automaker's lineup, the Murciélago was introduced as a coupé in 2001 as a 2002 model. This car is very fast for only 300,000 credits, with a top speed of 206, only 10 lower than the Enzo, a million dollar car. the one downside is that the handling is terrible. almost as bad as the McLaren F1, except you don't even need to touch the throttle for this car to spin out. The Murcielago is just way to light with next to no downforce. The car will start fishtailing at any corner you make, almost no matter what. but, once again, adding a wing makes everything better. the handling improves a million and six percent. so now that that's out of the way, the car's power is astonishing with 618 horsepower, and it only weighs 1665 Kgs. and also, for looks, this car is astonishingly beautiful from the back, the sides are okay, but then the front makes you die a little inside. the gallardo is much better looking. and since I have recently been introduced to the world of drifting, I have decided to put up my car's drifting score on the high speed ring along with it's la sarthe time.
La Sarthe time: 4:08.267

Drifting points: 2990

now, I'm taking requests for my next reveiw. If I don't have the car you want me to review, you can just friend me and put the car online. if it's more than like, 2,000,000, I probably don't have it, but, hey, I've got some expensive cars who knows? anyways suggestions for my next review on wednesday (I promise.)

alright, today I am going to review the Nissan GT-R. guess what, you guys! I found my flash drive! pictures today!
CircuitdelaSarthe2009NoChicanes_1.jpg

The Nissan GT-R is a 2 door supercar built by nissan in 2007. this car has a 3.8 liter V6 that puts out 473 horsepower. and also, this car is amazing. enough facts, this car is honestly my new favorite car. almost all sportscars I drive will give you fishtailing and tiresmoke, whether it be from oversteer, or understeer, or whatever. that will happen, it is inevetable. but not with the GT-R. this car is amazingly easy to handle. the only fault i can find in the handling is that if you are braking very hard, it tends to want to swerve a little, but it can be easily corrected. this car isn't particularly fast in a straight line though. it rockets from 0 to 60, but after that the acceleration is pretty sluggish. i was able to get it up to 194 mph on the straightaway, which is not bad at all. what's more, this car looks fantastic. I think it looks like a step up from the 350Z, one of my favorite cars in the world.
the time it got around the la sarthe: 4:07.342

And I've decided that nobody cares about drifting.
CircuitdelaSarthe2009NoChicanes_2.jpg

Since you are on La Sarthe and seem to have a supercar theme going, how about trying out a Ford GT?

CircuitdelaSarthe2009NoChicanes_3.jpg

yes, the Ford GT Le Mans car. not the GT40, the one without a year. the generic one. my initial impression of this car was "Wow! this is amazing! my second impression was "oh, I haven't changed the oil yet." not only is this car quick and easy to handle, I think it is the best sounding car in thhe whole game. better then the Zonda R, better than the Mazda 787B. the noise from the engine of this car is overwhelming. this car has a top speed of 208 MPH, which is not the best, considering that every other race car on the planet's engine cuts out at 222 MPH. The car is not hard to control, but it's not easy either. it does kindof tend to swerve around and fishtail on the corners, but still. it's a kind of fishtailing that is easy to correct.

so, time around la sarthe: 3:41.478
CircuitdelaSarthe2009NoChicanes_4.jpg

so, once again, looking for requests.

Tommy Kaira ZZII. I feel it doesn't get enough exposure. It's one of my faves, would be interesting to see what you think

How about the standard F340, nobody seems to drive it online due to the Scuderia being a better option, they look down on it and I feel it needs some love.

Herrwazza, I would love to review the Tommykaira, if only I had one. friend me and you can loan it to me. my PSN is in my username...box...thing.
