Cars you do not want in GT5

About half of the Skylines... Well, maybe more than half... Do we really need a fleet of nearlly identical vehicles, all with the same power and handling characteristics?...

;)

SOLUTION TO YOUR PROBLEM

Home Regions- You chose what continent to pick as your home, and the unlockables and used cars vary from there. If you pick North America, all cars available in North America will be available for purchase, whereas all others will be unlockables.

My dealer format- Under my dealer format, all special edition or tuner skylines would be under Specials.

Nope... I actually don't really like that idea at all... I think it would be much easier if they just deleted some of the Skylines (as well as other cars that are over represented), and use the space to add different cars...

It just doesn't make sense to have so many of the same cars, with very few visual differences, and little to no performance differences...

Question: How do you bring out the "I hate japanese cars" club?

Answer: This thread. :P

LOL, just kidding.

But honestly, the multiple Skylines thing is very frustrating. How can you have a zillion R33 and R34 GT-Rs floating around, and not a single GTS-R?!? (only available for R32... :( )... also, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo RS editions... if you're going to sell the cheap version, at least give us a chance to change those pathetic wheels... i think its a compromise too far, as most owners put on their own wheels after they buy them... those things handle terribly.

But one car I really would like to NOT see in the next Turismo, apart from insane multiples and re-badges, is the Opel Vectra. PD may be catering to fans by including as many fan-favorites as possible, but the typical Vectra buyer is a middle-aged manager who has given up on enjoying driving, and wants a reasonably big coffin to spend the last years of his licensed life with... definitely not someone who's going to go out and buy a copy of GT4 because "cor' it's got me car in it!".

Yes, it has been discussed hundred of times before, but it doesn't hurt to give it a further mention. The more we complain the more likely PD are to do something about it.

Sort of see where you're coming from with the region idea - good in principle - but I think just sticking to the 'don't be biased towards the Japanese market' rule should do the trick. A roughly equal amount of US, Euro and Japanese cars - these cars being the result of equal research - would solve the problem. KY is a Japanese car fanatic, but he also drives a Ford GT, so he DOES have SOME idea of car markets outside Japan.

If PD can pay equal attention to US, Euro and Japanese demand, then it should keep everybody happy.

Are you listening, PD?..............

PS. I must apologise for that - I'm sure you've all read much the same before, but I just want to get PD to LISTEN

What cars from past GTs do you not want in GT5?

Honda Odyssey
I hate to break it to you, but a Honda Odyssey will hand a Jaguar E-Type it's ass on a silver platter on an autocross course. In real life.

You'd hope so after 40 years of tyre development.

That's actually with decent, modern tires on the E-Type as well.

the Odyssey is a great drive, and can be a superb sleeper car.

Actually, I think they should just make regional versions of the game itself. Asia/Americas/Europe, and divide the cars accordingly.

HEAR ME OUT. :)

Any sports-car-or-better (i.e. 200hp+) would be universal, included in all versions. But, the "daily drivers", the little 80hp putter cars, would be region-specific. So the Asian version of the game would get the Daihatsu Midget, but the others wouldn't. I mean, the car wasn't even sold here, what's the point? So instead of putting in these worthless, obscure Japanese cars that we've never heard of, our version would, instead, have a bunch of American daily drivers. Ford Tempo, Saturn Vue, etc. And the European version would get cars like the Fiat Panda and the Smart Four-Two. Cars that are actually sold in the area that the game is released, cars that we actually know and see on a daily basis. Me, I've only ever owned "normal" daily-driver cars.. I've been through four of them, and not a ONE has ever appeared in a GT game.

And, as I said, sports cars and up would be in all versions.. everyone would see the Skylines, JGTC racers, etc... everyone would see the Paganis and the Corvettes (and the Ferraris.. here's hoping).

What do you think?

I think that the amount of all the Japanese cars is ridiculous, this is just due to the biased nature of the Japanese nation. If you look, they have went to great lengths for all Japanese models, the rest just get blanked.

Cars you don't want... That's not so diffcult. Not some slow car like the Daimler Carriage and Ford T. But still, the GT series remains a 'driving simulator' not a real racing game. I actually have no 'bad' cars in mind... But I agree there are too many Skylines in GT... We are in need of more realistic European and other Asian cars in GT. (but I'm not a Japanese-car hater!)

Considering a Japanese crew made this game... if it were Americans, it would be nothing but American-market cars... no type-Rs, no fast fords (except for Mustangs)... so be thankful that they've been as democratic as possible.

What cars I dont want in GT5?....

Ok let me think........ um......ah......... hmmm....... Who am I kidding I want every car in GT5!

The only ones i'd get rid of are all Daihatsues, except the Midget II D-Type, a few skylines and lancers, most Suzukis, and any other stupid small sub-compacts.

i want every single car ever made on gt5! that way we can put an end to the pointless discussions about this car shouldve been put in instead of this one. everyones going to find something they like, and every car in the game will appeal to someone as well. to each his own. come on pd, go f:censored:kin nuts!

I disagree with all of you, you are al, disguting. Not wanting cars is bad enough, but wanting not having them is worse.

Its like going into a grocery store and not wanting the store to carry cream cheese because you dont want it there (The store wont listen to you, and fortunately neither will PD). Maybe.. just maybe... somebody else might find that car interesting.

I want every car ever made, Even If I wont use them, its just nice to have them there.

And what is with the skyline hating? I want more skylines, especially 98-03 JGTC ones.

Obviosuly storage on a CD/DVD/Whatever has its limits. So there will always be a limit, for the next few years anyway, on how many cars the game can have. Having multiple skylines takes up valuable space for other cars that are not in the game. I.E. Ford Escort Mk1 (I dont think thats their anyway), would love to see that car. So dump one of the Skylines and give me that.

You should also be able to race every car in the game, but I having to race crappy little farty cars shouldn't be compulsory, apart from a few beginner races. as I really have no inclination to drive them in real life, so wouldnt want to in a game either. But can understand why some people would.

You should be able to enter single model races for all cars for those that want to race them. But you shouldnt have to do that to complete the game - man that woould take forever...

This is why PS3 is Blu-Ray, alot more space for alot more cars even if the file size for each car is larger.

Im aware of that. But everhything will be taking up more space, or it better be. Physics, A.I., envoiroments, graphics. So their still will not be enough for every car ever :) Even if it that is all that was on the disc.
