Smeg. maybe you can pick up a cheap beater or something? I mean, the shop didn't even give you a loaner? I'd think any reputable shop would...
so I pay it for a few reasons, one is to be legal
We have third party bodily (personal) included in our registration of the car through the government, no further insurance is legally required.
Apparently your insurance rates don't go up in Australia, but here they go up no matter who's fault the incident is, so I pay it for a few reasons, one is to be legal, and the other is to get paid off when the car it totalled. So far I've never had to use anything in between, it's either been totalled or not, and when it's not the damage has been something I'm not too bothered about, and therefore not worth calling the insurance company and jacking up my premiums over.
Yeah it only goes up here, with most insurance companies, if you're in an at fault accident. Why should your insurance go up if you're not at fault? I've had to go through insurance 3 times and all of which happened when my cars been parked and I haven't even been in it.
Having no third party insurance here is insane, it's only about $500 and covers all damages to others car and property. It's all I have, as full cover for my car is around 2k a year with a 1k excess. Not worth it in my opinion.
It's back!
Maybe you should stop parking in the street.
Maybe you should get your womans to pony up and start helping out with the mortgage so you can save up and build a garage like the burly Australian man you are.Maybe I should get a house with a driveway or garage...
