Caterham Fireblade Shootout

To quote the Mad Hatter, "I shall Fudderwacken most vigorously!" Glad to have you aboard.

I don't have 19 Tuners, yet, like Harveys' FF SO. But its getting there, and all quality tuners so far, with one legend in the group (I'll let y'all decide on who that is ;) ).

I said I've tuned it, in reality it needs some polishing up, in a "diamond in the rough" stage at the moment actually. Still oodles of fun though. :)

I must say I'm surprised that there are so many of you signing up for Group A, I thought most would prefer Group B. Cool.

I would like to join the tuner squad for group 'A'.

I personally think that tuning a Caterham Fireblade according to the rules of group 'B' ('fully modded', 'all parts allowed') is criminal and should be forbidden...how many drivers more must get killed by an overpowered coffin on 4 wheels until the world will finally understand?;)

Welcome aboard.

And I totally agree. The stock 'blade is enough to kill just about everyone.

That's why my tune makes it (hopefully) more stable and easier to drive, while still allowing you to kick the tail out if you want. :)

I'm actually surprised by how much this thing understeers. Ifigured it would be twitchy and hard to get ahold of when it all went belly up, but instead I find myself thinking it is one of my Audis wishing it would lose weight and "turn 🤬 you!" Maybe I'm just overdriving it. Either way should be fun to put it under the knife.

Thanks a lot my friend, this is my ONLINE tune. Let's see what happen . I have now 3 cars in 3 shootout without testing any of them. Just for the fun. I just know they are solid bases and i hope they will do well.
This is the only way to have fun with GT5 for me now.

Thanks everybody.

One quick question, are we only allowed the LSD for the Drivetrain, or may we use clutches, flywheels, and carbon drive-shafts?

For the sport tune: only LSD, any Tranny type, any suspension type.

Just the LSD, no other drugs!, I mean parts.

The point being to retain as much of the original feel of the car but customizing its 'adjustable' parts.

Decided I better check my garage to make sure I had a couple Fireblades for this since I entered as a tuner in both classes...If anyone needs a copy or two let me know seems I somehow managed to aquire 8 of them all with less than 10,000miles most with less than 4,000miles, none of them have ever been switched into...:lol:

I'd like to enter for group b, but I'm unable to link this post to my tune due to having to use my phone...(no home internet)

Tune is in the tuning shop in my signature 👍

Thanks for the Car Ronald.

Currently running 2:12's at GVS in Group A, haven't tried Autumn ring yet.

Edit: New best lap 2:10.9, consistent 2:11's

Tuners:
This is your one week warning. Testing will start on the 29th. Please post your tune or a link to your tune soon.
There is still room for more tunes. If you want to pit your tune against the others there is still time.

Drivers:
We still need more of you. All skill levels welcome.

I have a setup for an old Caterham tune that I will just transfer to the stock one.

I was gonna start a fresh tune but don't see the point if I already have one.

Will get it posted shortly.

The Barbie Blade

JGnHk.jpg

Hi! My name is Barbie and as you know, I usually drive a pink corvette.
But for a trackday I'll take out my sweet BB (Barbie 'Blade) and have some real fun with it.
My little triple-c (cute & calm caterham - hihihi - now aren't I'm eloquent?) can easily be handled with one hand on the steering wheel since I need my other hand for my barbie smart phone to tell all my friends about the latest Barbie-world tittle-tattle!

Ken always says "You made a ridiculous transvestite out of that car - what a shame! Collin Chapman would turn in his grave."

But whenever men are talking about cars you get the feeling that they think in earnest that cars are more than just a fancy accessory which has to fit to the rest of the outfit. That's a pretty weird view of life, but what can you expect from a man after all?

Ok - here is the setup for the Group A Barbie Blade:

Fit fully adjustable suspension, fully adjustable transmission and fully adjustable LSD as allowed for Group A.
Fit allowed tires (sports hard).
And most important: Paint the car barbie pink!

Ride Height: -5/0
Spring Rate: 10.0/5.2
Extension: 8/4
Compression: 6/3
Anti roll bar: 5/3

Camber: 1.6/0.8
Toe: +0.15/+0.35

LSD: 10/25/20

Brake Balance: 5/5

Gearing
First set max. speed to low end (180 km/h)
Then adjust the gears to follwing:
1st: 5.676
2nd: 4.476
3rd: 3.580
4th: 2.930
5th: 2.439
6th: 2.064
Then set final to: 2.690

Now get yourself a blond wig and enjoy the triple-c...and don't be afraid of your female side!

Lol. I already have one on my other account that's Passionate Pink. I'll just transfer the tune over.

Great minds think alike.
Or is it: Blank minds think alike.

Even if it's not the fastest it's the cutest.

Eh…My PS3 won't be back in time, it seems, so for now, I'm out for tuning. Have fun guys, and hopefully I'll get the thing back quick enough to start driving.
