Yep, as thought I need to find both time and tyre wear right now. Brand new car and not ran much Indy. Sure I'll get there though ;)

Are the races going to be back to normal time from now on? 9:30 GMT?

All races will be held on Saturday evenings, starting at 4pm EDT (8pm GMT, 9pm BST) in My Lounge. Send a PSN friend request to "Droptop2001gt" if you wish to race in this series.

4pm EDT (8pm GMT, 9pm BST) - Room opens in My Lounge for a 60 minute Practice/Qualifying session.
5pm EDT (9pm GMT, 10pm BST) - Race begins automatically, with a scheduled start time of 5pm EDT. **You may practice/qualify right up until the race begins.**

Ok, have Joes pace but not had chance to test tyre wear with new pace found (had previously managed 35 laps but being a second off).

Getting there ;)

Faster laptimes at Indy will usually mean faster tyre wear. I can go between 33 and 35 laps with my current setup. I'm aiming to be able to go 40 laps so that I can 1 stop the 80 lap race in the chase, but I currently don't know if it's possible.

I still haven't tested any of those 7 Daytona setup that I said I would. I guess I'll do them after I see whether or not I can go 40+ laps at Indy.

EDIT: Just found out why I was off my pace at Indy Road when I tested with Knelly- my LSD was still set up for Indy Speedway, as was most of the suspension.

EDIT 2: Yep, my laps are low 52s, with high 51s on lower fuel

EDIT 3: Can't get more than 36 laps solo (span at end of lap 37). Tyre wear will be greater with drafting, battlng, and inside/outside lines. I guess I'm still aiming for 30 in an actual race

Joe, were those times different yesterday - in your second edit. I seem to think you were saying .50 s

Are you playing with me :nervous: because I have your pace slightly beat, without testing tyre wear.

..... Interesting .... fancy some race conditions from 10:00 onwards tonight?

Nah I'm not messing with you, I'd written a 50.4xx down as being my slowest lap on a 30 lap stint, which was faster than what I'd told you before. I did another 30 lap run to see which was right, and that 50.4xx is definitely wrong.

Also, you probably do have my pace slightly beat, since I'm using a car with no miles on it, and therefore down on torque (you gain both BHP and torque when you wear a car in).

Just read your edit, and yes, my car is brand new as well - purchased on Sunday ;)

Hitting good sub .52's and averaging 52 flats but I just can't find enough laps at the moment. :ouch:

If it wasn't a competition I wouldn't be bothered ;). I am of course looking to win this so I start on 303 and avoid one if you lot above me starting on 309. 9 points is already quite a deficit to come back from, with those above me likely to race every chase event.

Hmmm bouncy bouncy or make things stiffer ... Whose to know. Should be on tonight.

If this wasn't a competition, I'd tell you what to change in your suspension settings. :sly:

Ya no comment here, if I win this event I can go to the chase. But I let you know after the race. Here is a hint as what to do : Do the opposite of what you r doing now because it seems to not be working for you or you can set your trans up right so you don't loose the draft my friend.

Drop should have a good setup, seeing as I told him most of my setup and what changes what in a PM back in March when he asked for some setup help. I'm still using that same setup.

Haha, you guys don't want any suspension advice from me. In my last Indy oval race, my car was too tight, resulting in some slick front tires late in the stint, compromising my car's turn-in ability.

I got abstract help, but no concrete baseline settings. I'm mostly pleased with my setup, but it definitely needs some tweaking.

I'm hoping I have enough time to tune it out before Saturday.

You and Knelly seem to be on opposite ends of the scale, for the setting that needs adjusting.

With the setting one way, I get faster laps and better steering, but more tyre wear.
With the setting the other way, I get slower laps and worse steering, but less tyre wear

Just need to find that middle ground.

After spending about 3 hours on track alone testing individual variables, I feel pretty good with what I have, though I still have about 3-4 more things I want to test this week. My best lap was 51.949, and that was without ever depleting fuel and taking on fresh tires late in a run. To keep my testing consistent, all runs were made straight out of the garage, and straight on track with 4 fresh tires and a full tank. Most "fastest" laps came between lap 3 and 10. Once I get the setup pinned down, I'll start depleting fuel and shooting for fast laps.

I ma stepping out. Chances are I won;t be able to make the chase, so I'm not gonna deny someone who can make it. Best of luck - besides... I'm not done with NASCAR yet. My Truck Series starts a couple hours before you do, and I'm not done with Sprint Cup cars yet...

After our Chase is over 6 weeks from now, I plan on running an actual Sprint Cup restrictor-plate Daytona 500 (Saturday, September 3rd), and then running a weekly Daytona room in My Lounge, so we can all hit the track and have some fun om Saturday evenings. Keep a watch out for it, and join us when you have time.

I will but be aware Saturday evening I run my series, and it's becoming longer as well.

I'm going to have an open practice tonight around 9pm EDT/1am GMT at Indy in My Lounge. Feel free to join me.

Also my truck series starts tonight with a practise session from 7pm BST (2pm EDT I think)

Will definitely be running tonight, but am on the Truck race before hand so may not make any quali.

Just hope my setup gets me 30 laps as not been able to test it in race conditions.

Think MustangRyan is running as well, and he is in charge of the cup races as well, so I reckon you should have no worries. Best of luck to all in the cup series 👍

Yep, as thought, lap 5 the two red bulls got together (not sure whose fault but is think Dowhat caused Crazy to lose it into me) and one of them rammed straight into the side of me head on. Again, another non fault incident ruining my race early on. Didn't see another car for the whole race after that, but my one stop strategy got me finishing 5th.

Chase here I come ;)

That was, without a doubt, the cleanest and most competitive race we've had all season. Nine racers showed up, 8 led at least a lap, and the ninth driver was the pole-sitter, just with bad luck. I'm watching the replay now, and will have the points updated within an hour.
