Hi Everyone

My wheelstandpro arrived in 4 working days from Poland (EU member so no custom and ex charges )

This stand is so brilliant its untrue. It ticks every single box you can think of!!!

1) It is sturdy under intense driving conditions

2) It folds away

3) Bespoke for G25

4) Pedals are a comfortable fit

5) It stays completely still (the stand has complete rubber feet)

5) Looks nice

5) The gearstick could go either side (left or right)

I really can't believe how good it is!

I've enclosed some pictures believe me its worth it ;)
(Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry it was taken in the night)

Any questions let me know :smashin:

Hi! can you take more pictures without the g25 mounted, so i can se the differance between the cheaper model and the wheel stand for g25?

Hello All

There is an amazing array of ingenuity displayed here, some great self built cockpits!

I was going to try and build one myself, untill I found this great cheap race seat on ebay (pic attached), it will definately do the job and I won it for £40.05! There may be some left as the guy had about 5 for sale.

If you want a look, type in 'race seat ps3' to find it! It folds away too!

Regards

Gnobody

Cost me $20.00 primer paint, had the black paint. 15.00 for the wheels at the local flee market. had the plywood. Got the metal for free, cart being thrown out. 10.00 for a adjustable car seat.

Welded it up and its ready for racing for $45.00.

I've had a few requests for plans of my racing pode recently. I'll ftry to get some basic plans together over the next week or so. Won't be anything too fancy but will give you what you need.

Here are a few more recent pictures:

You're absolutely right of course. I guess you don't have to go to the length of a bucket seat and carpet etc. It doesn't show the 'dashboard' shelf either which is covered in a leather vinyl (I never know when to stop). I suppose this is the Special Equipment version ....

Hi Again,
I thought I would post some pics of my now not so budget setup. I purchased a new seat that is a lot more comfortable which meant that the shifter mount had to be redone as well as a new seat base. It wont get changed again until the successor to the g25 is released (hopefully not real soon).
On a more budget note I knocked together the other stand out of some ply and 2x4 so that the old DFP didn't just sit in a box. Now 2 player racing is much more fun. It looks fairly tall but it was made to be used sitting on the couch.

Hope you like the pics,
Dave.

Dave, is that your design and build?? Nicely done. Any plans for that laying around? If not can you post some more pics. All angles would be great. Thanks bro.

Wheel Stand Pro is the perfect wheel stand, but it's too expensive.

When I travel to Europe, I've seen that prices are numerically the same in Euros and Dollars, for example a camera that costs 300 dollars in the USA will cost 300 Euros.

This is precisely what's wrong with the WSP. It costs 119 euros, but 189 us dollars.

Since I suppose they make them in Asia, I don't see why they can't sell it for 119 dollars or less in the USA.

Besides, if they mass produce them they can surely reduce costs.

What's more, Logitech should sell these stands. It would increase their wheel sales.

I e-mailed them today with my concern. Let's see if they answer.

I was eyeing the wheel stand pro but couldnt believe how much they wanted for it, so i grabbed some 2x4's and went to work.
It slips under the couch and is very sturdy, i call it the Ghetto Couch Wheel Stand PRO :D

Well i think I may have one of the top 10 cheapest cockpits here. Just waiting for my G25 to come in the mail.
Costs:
Seat - $5 off of Walmart
Piece of wood from something we took out of the closet. $0
Duct tape that came with house - $0
Having butterflies in your stomache waiting for your G25 to come in the mail. Priceless.

Same way an F1 driver gets in his car. Climb on top of it and slide down inside it. I have recently noticed the board was unsteady and would wobble so I added 2 small gatorade bottles to the area between the board and the blue mesh to make it more solid.:sly:
EDIT:
Here's a video on how I get in and out

i have seen some pretty impressive homemade cockpits in this thread.
Yours is not one of them, but yours has more character and heart than all of them combined.
May you receive your g25 swiftly, and let the power of your racing seat take you to the top of the leader boards.
Good luck

Thanks! I just read that and imagined krammer (SP?) saying it to me, then I ROFL'ed

My homemade/cheap set-up. Been with this since GT4 and im dying to get a seat so i can put on some bass shakers... Neway, the thing's very sturdy and chair never moves as it is wedged underneath.

5.1 surroumd, sounds sweet 👍

Yah, tyles, the dog had too much fur so had to get rid of the carpet.

Does the Ghetto Couch Wheel Stand PRO wobble at all? And wrcsti, can you post alink to the walmart page withthat chair? I'm thinking about making a cockpit. I might get the dfp wheel, but for now I'll have to use the ps2 controller :(
