I am very surprised no one did it till now.
You can only watch the replays of the top 10. Select one of the top 10 & click "play replay". You also have the option to store the replay on your HDD.
The cheating should stop, and the times set using a "glitch" should -ofcourse- be deleted.
But to ban cheaters, or put them in prison.., shoot them perhaps ? No, just delete their times, and fix the bug(s) I find it too much of an accomplishment to find such glitches, so i'll praise the cheater(s) skill.
It's a fault of the game, someone found it, he used it, PD will fix it (right ?), the cheaters had their fame (the copycats didn't deserve it, but whatta u do 'ey), and (i asume) soon everything will be normal.
Guys (or girls, mostly guys though) why be so upset about this? Ofcourse it's rotten if you lost your rightful spot of the leaderboard, but to say that it's the end of the challenge sounds a bit daft to me.
What happened to have a fun race ? That someone found and (ab)used a glitch doesn't make it less challenging for "us" who want to play honest. @Stano666 -- While I share your admiration for the cleverness of those who discover the "cheats," I think that in events like this which people can and do take seriously, that to cheat is anti-social behavior, pure and simple. Hang them? No. Flame them and scorn them? Indeed. What is society without respect? "Rules", whether unwritten or written, enable us all to play together nicely. If he had discovered the cheat and made a thread about it I would congratulate him, but, much like the kid who sucks at kickball will steal the ball so that no-one else can play, he should be treated as the fool he is.

It is a Time Trial, so the challenge for most (other than the ones who just want to beat gold and get paid) is to see where we stack up against everyone else. The cheat ruins our ability to accurately judge our position. If you are driving a time trial for a "fun race" then what's the difference between that and arcade or practice mode? Just go hop on the Nurb 24 hours in practice or arcade and have all the fun you want.

I hope that the "honest" times on the board won't be deleted, the times set using this glitch (or what ever it is) should be thrown away. Personaly i'm not sure if it's cheating what they did. If -for instance- it's necessary to change some codes or deprogramme the PS3 it is indeed. If you have to flip of the track in a certain matter first before you can set such times then i personally think PD or PSN are to blame.
This doesn't make it less irritating, i know that.
And ofcourse comparing times now is being tainted by this, but like i said, hopefully (and i assume) this will be fixed, then there's nothing to worry about anymore...., right ?
I'll just keep on having "fun" (it can be a frustrating trail btw -LOL-) trying to improve my times meanwhile, and i hope you all will to.

I don't know black ops (i don't like cod much) but here they tinkered with the blueray disc or PS3. But i see big difference between this kind of cheating or (ab)using a glitch.
Hope you know what i mean. (this massage came up while i was typing my last post)

You know what is funny? I watched that video or at least some of it and saw that I could "compose mail" to him. Well, lets just say I wrote him something with not so kind words. I just told him in so many words that he should be congratulated for hacking and be SO proud for being on top of the leaderboards while not deserving it. BRAVO....god, it's pathetic.
His profile does say he speaks english. But why not infite him over here, he could do some explaining.
If he gets not so nice words, he might be less willing to explain the situation.
I for one am clueless about what happened. Do you know what happened ?

You can´t ban him or them , who used the exploits in the game because they didn´t manipulate the software.
If PD would fix the faults , this won´t happen.
It´s not nice from the exploiters but you have to live with it.

Sportsmanlike conduct is a hard to come by virtue in today's day and age. I can acknowledge the fact I'm probably not likely a top 100 candidate nor would I ever be but come on, exploiting glitches and hitting up, up, down, down, left,left right was something we did AS CHILDREN and shouldn't be doing as adults.

But it's really sad. Waited ages for a time trail on the Ring & now ... glitchers.
How i miss the dedicated server times as admin. Undermap glitcher, demo recoreded, 5 min. later perm banned.

WHAT???? We have 10 updates and patches since the release and while this glitching is annoying it can't be prevented unless someone finds it and PD fixes it after...
What really surpises me about it,whether you find it by accident or trying so hard to find something for hours? If someone takes the time, he just is punished enough

That guy in the bottom vidio, he showed how easy it can be to go of track. He got of on 2nd try, without much trouble (don't know what happened the first time) That proofs PD should try iron out glitches. Maybe that's why PD wanted to delay GT5 even longer.
These glitches happended during on-line gameplay. That's bad enough, but during TT it's worse.
Yet as i (still) see it, it's PSN or PD who are to be blamed, if we exactly knew what happened in TT glitch i could change opinion.

That's what i've read here. Only problem i see with it is: how does PSN know when you enjoy a advantage ? Could be hard to recognise.

PD did try and stop these type of glitches in an update, now people can still 'breakout' but they must stay directly under the model of the track. Thats why we haven't seen the 8 second laps that were possible before the update.
Its pretty annoying, as this is the ultimate time trial, and I would like to see a lap of pure skill at no.1.

If you thought that was cheating the top ranked was 6:05.XX by some other cheater in a Corvette - yes of course mate......
I'm an ok driver and I did the Nurburgring V which is longer (not by much) in the 4hr endurance. I did it in the Audi R10 TDi Race Car which goes like stink and drives well considering. I managed sub 8 minute to 7 36-45 secs and that is a fully tuned car. On Racing hard tires you do 3 laps before you pit again which means you only get one fast lap in 3.
Its a game why cheat I hate these £$%'s its getting like call of duty lol.

Have you watched a Le Sarthe replay?
Reminds me of NFS Shift "fastest laps" I think the fastest lap on the NFS leaderboard for the Nurburgring was 13 seconds and change.
