I managed to get gold on my first clean lap, but beforehand was quite a long string of invalidated lap times from being just one inch too far off the track to completely flying off into the grass because I missed my braking point.

My first thought driving this thing was "whoa, understeer ahoy!"

You guys are talking about the Military paint chip right? It's under Solid's, or at least it should be.

I'm talking about the color of the car, which is a matte blue. I expected to have that color chip since I have the car.

Well that has to be one of the easiest Seasonal's I have done in a long time. 3 laps and I got Gold and the car and didn't have to break a sweat at all with a 1.59.711(yes I know I'm not setting the timing boards alight with that one) with plenty more to come off that if I can be bothered. Thanks for the freebie PD.

Ohhh okay. Yeah you don't get a paint chip from it. If there's no name for the colour then you don't get the chip.

That makes sense. The name is "--" instead of an actual name.

However, the original MB AMG VGT in my garage has a name to its color. It is "Vision Gran Turismo AMG Alubeam Silver". Yet there is no chip of that name in my paint shop. So there must be some other rules as well. Maybe if the paint name is longer than the average short story, you don't get a chip.

2:01.492. That was my time around Daytona's Road Course. I am not very experienced racing Daytona's road course. Only other game I've played some sort of Daytona' road course was in rFactor. I made a few laps around Daytona's road course previously. Earlier on, I couldn't get through Turn 1 without my time going foul (invalidated). So I decided to get a bit more defensive and concentrate more on trying to post a qualifying time than try to lay down a blistering lap. I became a bit concerned as I exited the bus stop chicane and crossed that checkpoint with about a time of about 1:38.000. Coming out of that section, only one word matters- POWER! I needed only one complete lap to clear the Gold time of 2:02.000 with my 2:01.492. Mission accomplished!

When I checked the times of my PSN friends, one of them (I don't call people out, even if I wanted to) even posted a time below 2:00.000 with this car. In fact, [this person] posted a time of 1:59.999 around the track! I just wanted the car and the money.

I'm pretty sure that whenever you get given a paint chip it tells you. It certainly does for all the ones I've got so far. Usually when you complete the event and exit out it gives you the credits, then it gives you the car (where relevant). When it gives you the car it says below if there is an associated paint chip. So, if there is no paint chip named at that point you don't get the chip. Hope that helps.

drove a 01:57,381 but i still think the car handles like sh#t
took me a while of getting used to, at first it seemed like a semi-truck, lol.

Took me a few runs just to believe that the steering wheel might be connected to the front wheels! Handles like a barge but an easy gold when you nurse it around.

I don't mind the car's handling. It seems to handle like the normal car.

Which is the most disappointing part. I was expecting this car to basically be the "RM" version of the base model C7. It has a stiffer, lower suspension, but the PP is the same. It should have adjustable downforce and PP in the 600s.

I'm noticing some (side to side) violent weight shift under braking into some of the turns. I will have a look at the replay and report back. I suffered a 1.57.677 after a couple laps. I threw the back end out in turn 1. My PSN friend was down to a 1:54. He's got me in turn 5 every time. Down to 3rd. Down to 2nd. Look at that corner speed! I'm talking to you @dyingfetusmike(Great lap). My split at turn 1 is 11 seconds on lap 1. 9 seconds on lap 2. 7 seconds on lap 3. Track knowledge is essential if I want to improve here.

Same here, I couldn't wait to get through a good lap to get out of there!!! Part of it is the car, but a bigger part is the feedback to the G27 on this track which is almost non-existant. I can't feel anything happening through the wheel which makes for a very boring lap on a very boring track.

Ahh the joys of broken game code. sorry to hear the feedback is not working. I wish had some kind of feedback my self, I'm on a PS3 SA so no feedback at all, it's doable just takes getting used to and driving by sight and not feel.

Easy. Golded it on my second lap. It looks faster than the regular version but it doesn't seem to be.

Was it as easy for you guys as it was for me? Or maybe I'm just familiar with the track and that's why it was easy for me.

Noup, took at least 10 laps before i got my first clean run...
then about at least 30 tries to get to my "limit"...

Oh, well I heard most people are having problems with the first turn, just remember to brake in time and try not to go off-track. Learn the course, that's important. That goes for every single track in the game, if you've merorised it, you know what comes next, when to brake, when to turn and so on...

Easy enough seasonal, not loving turn 1 though. Oh well at least the number of wasted laps helped me get a little bit closer to the Autobarmy trophy.

If you lap with just ABS 1, have a laptime on this seasonal around mine (1:56.406), and want a bit of competition to extend the life of the seasonals a little bit while we wait for PD to bless us with more content, then please add me (PSN: icleolion). Sorry, not looking to fill my friends list with the aliens amongst us or those too much slower than my time, just looking for motivation to do more laps! :)

I thought the same, didn't see much wrong with the handling, you just can't attack those corners like you would with a race car.

Tried it with the wheel tonight and in my first lap, I beat my DS3 time by almost 2 seconds with a 1:58.9xx

I'm sure if a lapped for 30 minutes, I could easily gain another 1.5 or 2 secs, and I'm not even that pro of a player.

I like this combo.... even tho it did take me about 20 laps to gold it, but at least i got to the top of my frienfs leaderboard...

Either my friends are slow or i am fast...
Most likely my friends are slow.

it's over powering the tires, gotta baby it. brake early to ditch the speed than let off light accerlation into the corner and trail break it it handles very very well under breaking, but oversteers like mad if you over cook the corner

this. took me 10 laps with DS3, but got gold. once you get used to it's handling, it's quite fun to drive.

Finally, a proper car to drive. I don't get what the hate is for. If you're oversteering on the exit just use the weight shift to rotate the car and smoothen your throttle.

1:58.1xx, with much more than a second lost in the quick chicanes before the final straight. All off, ABS 1 and DS3.

No it was really easy. I never use the track so I didn't know it at all. Still got gold on the third lap (first non-red lap).

My only problem was turn one on my second lap, came in too fast, and smacked a wall.

Unfortunately, this is the only vette that I will say sucks.

I drove this piece of Sloth expecting it to be like the standard C7, so I entered the first corner at the same speed I'm used to... The thing just started sliding all over the place, its really horrible. I've never had to brake so early before, not to mention its ugly. Still, I managed it on lap 2 when I decided to slow down and adapt to the Corvette's wooden suspension.

I'd appreciate the challenging element more if I could be bothered to get my G27 out at 3am

The first 3-4 times I started I went off in turn 1 and into the wall. Felt like the car was on comfort hard tires, not sports hard. Once I managed to complete a lap I hit gold on the first try, but damn. Ice skates.

loved the car! but yes it does tend to have a heavy nose, my only problem was that sometimes the speed your doing convince you that you should be okay now to take your foot off the brakes at the end of a long braking section only to find out that the nose loads up quickly and pushes away from the apex, solution well it was easy fiddle with the throttle and induce oversteer and oh boy this baby got a lot of it!

found my limit and I'm in 200th something place on the leader board , always loved this circuit.

The car handles like a bucket full of water.
I'm using a DFP wheel, and I thought something was wrong with my wheel. Managed to bronze, but this is ridiculous. Please, don't tell me to learn how to drive. I enjoy a challenge, but this just isn't fun for me.

EDIT: You know what? Something was wrong with my wheel. Seems to have finally sorted itself out, but driving with fingers crossed. Got gold without too much trouble.
