I recently found some time to check the whole collection.
I stil miss ONE standard chip:
Zypressengrun - Opel (pearl)
My database is in final steps. Current chip number is 2499. I only need to complete NCD check for new paints before going with first release. Also managed to transfer all chips to my main account and hit the ~7000 item limit with DLC
It took hours transfering gear multiples to other accounts.
And also needed to delete dozens of paint copies.
Daily routine would be: collect 10 daily paints, gift 5, delete 5, delete more if new cars are coming into 👎

Duck I have a question.... does you chip count stop when you get all the unique paints? I am sitting at almost 2900 on one of my accounts and wonder if that's just going to keep climbing or stop? also is there a list of just unique paints? Thanks man....

I worked to the catalogue all the evening (colour formatting, credits, instructions....) but I still have some work to do. Maybe tomorrow will be release time, and all your unspoken questions will be answered 👍
For the actual questions:
- the GT5 browser chip count is bugged: mine is over 3100 chips now, and still increasing. If you had a complete collection before spec 2.0 release and collect a second copy of all chips, your total can easily go over 6500
which is impossible. There are only 5562 car combinations in game, an some hundreds don't gift a chip. The only way you have is to check your inventory using a compiled database....- there is a list of unique paint names, check this OP, but it misses all paints with the same name and different colour, DLC, some premium chips. So, you may want to wait for tomorrow
