Christmas Presents 2013

@homeforsummer, for sure there is great satisfaction in minimal possessions, it has a way of making the things which one does own much more important and appreciated.

For obvious reasons I'm pretty much living out of a pair of luggage boxes (small suitcase size) and it's exhilarating. Every last thing has a purpose. Nothing cluttered, just ultimately useful items.

Sorry to derail the thread...please continue all. ;)

An Xbox One, Forza 5, BF4, and enough gas to get to Key West, FL and back, some snorkeling gear, and many Cracker Barrel pancakes:drool:. And tickets for a bus tour of the Kennedy Space Flight Center.

And this Dog tag I keep on my rearview mirror:

Well I got:
GT6, a jacket, lots of money, some Ferrero Rocher, flip-flops nad HDMI cable to plug my PS3 to a 4K TV... IF I HAD ONE! (I don't need a TV honestly)
My brother got CoD Ghost (somehow ended up being played by me), some things for his beard and some AKG K518LE headphones, just like mine. (I think these are good budget headphones) and lots of money

I got:
  • Playstation 4
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts
  • Need for Speed Rivals
  • Star Trek Into Darkness on 3D Blu-Ray
  • Iron Man 3 on 3D Blu Ray
  • Aston Martin 2014 calendar
  • Top Gear: The Perfect Road Trip on DVD

  • $20 Xbox Gift Card used to pick up Halo: Spartan Assault and Max: Curse of Brotherhood
  • Lots of underwear

Logitech G27 (sold my DFGT to fund some of it)
GT6

I couldn't ask for more. Well, maybe a couple more things lol

Sony MDR-7506. Supposedly some of the best you can get, period. So far, they seem pretty damn spectacular.

I've owned a pair of the MDR-V6 (the consumer/prosumer version of the same headphones) and I've been very happy with them myself, though I wouldn't mind trying the Audio Technicas and comparing the two myself.

For Christmas, I got a framed Nurburgring F1 track poster. Pretty neat stuff.

Those are the ones that my dad has, that's why he recommended I get these. He also got me some beyerdynamic velour ear pads, which are fantastic.

Better than a pair of $1,500 Sennheisers?:P

(I actually asked for an HD800, just to laugh at my parents when they found out how much they cost)
Fifteen hundred? Is that all? Don't forget the Stax headphones that cost over five grand, or the Sennheiser Orpheus, which is commonly sold at over thirty grand. Oh, and you're going to need a high end amp and DAC for that, those will be a few grand each.

Well Santa's definitely been down your chimney, hasn't he?

-8" Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 with a 32GB mini Sd card.
-Pontiac Firebird repair manual
- Farming Sim PS3
-NFS Rivals
- Hotwheels Smokey and the Bandit Kenworth W900
-Jerry Reed CD's

Nothing at all. I take that as a "get a job". I don't complain, though, as there's nothing I would want as a gift that's reasonably priced for my family (and a PS3 isn't reasonably priced).

I actually got quite a bit of stuff compared to what I usually get.

-Command Authority by Tom Clancy & Mark Greaney
-Doctor Sleep by Stephen King
-The Steve Miller Band - Greatest Hits 1974-78
-Elton John - The Diving Board
-The World's End
-Red Hot Chili Peppers t-shirt
-Jimi Hendrix t-shirt
-The Beatles t-shirt
-Minnesota Wild sweatshirt
-$25 Amazon card
-Socks & a Gilette gift set.

A Marantz HT reciever...my wife and I treated ourselves to that one.
