Honda Civic EG-II SiR '95

Honda Civic. These cars are usually driven by busy mothers, grannies and grandpas. After first F&F movie Honda Civic's "sportier" models have been most wanted stuff among street racers, especially the ones who don't have money for proper car, no offense.. Never the less, Civic SiR's offer quite shocking performance despite modest-sounding 1.6l displacement. This light twincam unit, featuring famous F1-based Vtec-technology that allows the engine CPU to change the cam's lift and timing electronically, produces around 130-180 bhp, depending of the car's generation. When driven nicely in the traffic, the engine is humble. Keep the pedal buried to the floor and after 6 k rpms, the engine get's a nice kick as the Vtec starts to work. Suddenly, your momma's grocery-getter darts forward, howling like a racecar, thanks to high-revving unit and light weight. So, don't be ashamed if Granny-driven Civic smokes you in the lights.

These are my handling settings. The car is fully modded, but the engine and gearbox are stock, so, no other power mods than oilchange. With a 6.2 mile car, this should result as 177 bhp. It saves tyres, and believe me, with these settings, if you can keep the engine at the right rev range.. you'll put some italian V6 sportscars into shame.

Any chance of actual driving impressions? Lap times and etc like your 22B and R32 GTR report?

Also, regarding the power figures, the SOHC VTEC motors (the D series I think, D15 and D16) are the ones which make 130-140hp in the Civic. The proper DOHC VTEC engines (B16a and a2) in the Civics make 160-165hp.

the ride is rather firm, and since I have DFP, I don't usually turn the wheels from lock to lock. i've also noticed that with DFP, FF's are easier to control in the corners just because you just can't turn wheels as quickly as with DS2 and thus i can avoid wheelspin in turns despite the lack of LSD. I don't have any laptimes, since I did these settings before starting actual reviews, but I could beat Alfa's V6 models with ease. only challenge was given by VW Polo/Lupo GTi. :scared: that's one mean pocket rocket, that one.. light, 6speed box and terrific handling.

and about the engine power figure's, you're right, but when you keep in mind that Pug 205 GTi needs 1.9l and Golf GTi's need 1.8 to get anywhere near of those numbers, they're rather perky for such small displacement.
