Classic GTP moments

Puik, the code is goofed up for the third one. 👍

"50 cent is a genius"
Young_Warrior and his two reincarnations, Double R and Poverty

milefile. I need one word to denote a GTP classic.

EDIT: #2 sends me to the logout page.

who remembers this thing?
19335so1.gif

The Walama, that thing was awesome, I think mayorbill started that whole craze.

How about km, he was awesome, he would snap at the drop of a pin and ended most of his posts with this.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Joey's 'accident' sticks out in the mind too.

The only fond memories that I have on GTP was:
  • Uhhh.... my emo thread (sort of anyhow)
  • The Premium Chat thread (where I went 🤬 A-wall when I first entered )
  • The "fad" (from the zuguri cars, to the smiley and Blackbird's sister )

Can't remember all of them, but yeah, good ol' memories of GTP8...... :(👍

The slap him silly thread has got to be one of the fastest moving threads ever on GTP.
.
Nothing beats the I.T. King Thread, it was the fastest...ever. But it got deleted...

Also, when everybody wanted that 100,000th post from the HMRCWG thread.

Some classic moments:

John's car gets destroyed by train.
The first GTP podcasts
The removal of the rep system
MachOne gets permanently banned... what a bugger.
This thread, from post #44

Hey yall should make me an admin!!! I was once admin of a site called GPTlanet.ten!!!!! [/mocking monster_man]

God I wish I was on this forum back in '03 to see this! And he tried to report Jordan, the owner of this forum? Made me laugh.👍

[*]The "fad" (from the zuguri cars, to the smiley and Blackbird's sister )

There have been way too many of those, but nevertheless, each one is more enjoyable. Sometimes. I keep wondering what the next will be...

Something else that sticks out in my mind was the odd collection of "What Does?" threads that popped up in a short time. I think I started it with the bedroom.

I have this thread saved. MachOne sent a copy of what he could get from it to everyone that posted in the thread.

waterpoloinc a.k.a. Colin Braun. He was fun.
Wow, I just read that one. Pretty clever for a teenager to impersonate another teenager, except for the fatal mis-matched MySpace page that kills them every time. From what I've read, the real-life Colin Braun has no time for silly games and internet forums.

It's funny how we remember the 100 or so banned members that make a terrible stink (or worse) and forget the 1000-2000 members that have made this a memorable online community.

I was fortunate to miss April 1st, 2005; I logged in the day before, and logged back in 2-3 days later because life was busy. One day at work, I leafed through the mess of deleted threads out of curiosity; heck, maybe I was temporarily banned and didn't even know it!

That's how it always is, everywhere really.

1. When Doug was temp banned and the big stink that followed.

2. Banning Sakiale.

3. Everything that happened with Tunervision/orion/centro/etc.

The biggest one that sticks out in my mind was when Joey D. (BlazinXtreme) died.

And Doug and Mr X's numerous leaving threads.

I remember when namechanges were introduced and major confusion was spread all over GTP because everyone kept changing their names daily.

Also, I'm surprised nobody mentioned the convo-forum? Or maybe that wasn't so long ago?

Yeah, I think that was one of the main problems at that time. I also remembered Jordan said about their previous name would appear in their profile in the new update (which never happened?) and now the name changing limit is every 180 days (or so)

As for the convo-forum, is that the chat thread in premium?

That was at least a couple years ago, wasn't it? I remember it fondly.

What about the April Fool's day that wasn't so funny?

No, it used to be a dedicated forum that everyone could visit and talk about random stuff. It was recycled since it was attracting negative members/conversation to the rest of the forum.

April fools joke that went bad..
Joeys crash and the following posts/threads
When John? posted Ghost C's caddy in the Questionable modifications thread.
Sandstorm / Jared / Stinky chickens posts in the chat threads
TVR and FF useless threads and posts over the years
influx of newbs with GT4 release..
The whole drifter scene conflict when drifting started to become mainstream.
m4d 7y73 dr1f71n y0!
so many funny memories over the past 5 odd years...

I don't think you were a member here back then man. And no, that wasn't the premchat thread. It was open for everyone, and the most epic discussions went down there.

Small_Fryz
influx of newbs with GT4 release..
Yeah, that's pretty much where GTP started to lose it's appeal for me. :(

It's a shame he only did 5 posts.

I completely forgot all about that! I just did a search for him on MySpace, his page states that both Batman and Spiderman were real, but unfortunately were murdered.

Did you ever find his blogs!? They were the most entertaining read I've had EVER purely because they were so utterly absurd.

EDIT: Almost two pages and no Sage vs Kiwi?
Haven't seen a kiwi avatar in ages.
;)

Sage's drop shadow tutorial.
I don’t remember ever doing such a thing… (Unless you consider all of my avatars to be one large aggregate drop-shadow tutorial. :D)

Yeah, I think that was one of the main problems at that time.
I don’t think you were here five and a half years ago.

No mention yet of Allah_Almighty?
