These might be on the border of being too unedited to qualify for being here, but I think I did a respectable amount of smudging on them though.

My work in progress. All I've done is worked on the passenger headlight, replaced the windshield, and replaced the emblem on the grille.

If you can do it to a MR2 GT-S '97 (I think that's the name) , you would be my best friend !

I think it were my best attempts

On the low right side , the road is blurry , I forgot to delete the airbrush effect :indiff:

Doesn't look very spectacular but it was actually a big job to cleanup!

Oh... My... GOD! You have no idea!

At my Autocross club, (Twin Lakes Motor Club,) there's a guy who drives around in his '86 MR-2 like that. Seeing it, with a pylon (sp?) beside it, it looks like real life! Of course, my mind might just be filling in some mistakes and blemishes, with the memory of the real car, but, regardless... 👍 BEST PHOTO EVER SO FAR! 👍

Thanks for the appreciation. :D

@Diogo G - As my PS3 is dead I can't take any shots atm - but if you want to send me a shot, I'll happily mess around with it for you.

Firstly, you're welcome, bud. :)

Secondly, is that offer open for more than just Diogo? I'd like to see a before and after of a personal shot, and try to spot the differences, and make them happen for myself, so I can join in on this fun.

The more the merrier. :)

Here is an edit I've done for MrMelancholy15 using a photo he supplied me with.

Clean up

Hope you approve MrMelancholy - I'll PM you soonish with details of what I did. :)

Yes, I use GIMP to perform my clean ups - I'm intending a make a tutorial one of these days.

Hey Nato, if you don't mind could you send it to me too, please? Cleaning up cars is definitely not my strong point, and I've always wondered how the master does it. :)

I've started a revolution (of sorts!) Huzza! Freedom! [even if just to make standard cars look nice.] :)

Come on, was this thread really necessary? I used to be perfectly happy with the way things were. Now, after seeing this thread, I'm sad that all those cars aren't premiums :(

Good job though.

Sorry. I find this thread very necessary. I have a thing for standard cars. The premium cars just don't cut it, for me. I need some simple, down-to-earth and affordable cars, because they're the cars I like. Seeing them all fixed up and fancy and pretty is very nice.

I think the Original Poster (the OTHER OP) will agree. OPs make OPs, btw. :)

Heh heh - I started this thread purely as a place to put your Standard Car Clean-ups. I noticed a few members were doing some great edits and felt the work was too good to not have it's own thread.

:D

Either way, I support your decision.

I'm a bit baffled now, why didn't PD think of refining the standard cars in the first place, at least just to remove jaggies? I think it wouldn't take that much time fixing those wouldn't it???

It's much easier for us to fix some jaggies in a still image than it is for them to manipulate a 3D model to incorporate a bunch more polygons and clean up textures. Plus, how standards are modelled is an obsolete method, so spending yet more time on outdated models probably makes less sense than exclusively working on Premiums from here on out 👍
