Further explanation of the theme, which is provided by CCXRacer:

A timely theme considering this month's horrible disaster in Japan, we want you to focus on
the cars and locations from the great country this week. Without Japan, would we even be
playing this game? Show us what you've got!

CARS: Japanese Only
LOCATIONS: Japanese Only
PHOTO TRAVEL: Yes
UNIQUE RESTRICTIONS: See above

  • No full-size images posted in thread; your entry will be ignored.
[*]One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
[*]Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
[*]You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and
either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
[*]When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
[*]Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
[*]A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
[*]Winner gets to choose the following week's theme, as well as the Top 20. Every fourth
week, the poll will be H2H style: entries must choose a "team", and the best from each
poll faces off in a final 48 hour poll.
[*]Winners cannot enter in their own theme!

  • Use more than 1 image (HDR, photo-stitching, multi-exposure).

What you may do to a photo:
  • Crop and/or resize an image.
  • Adjust the level or curve values.
  • Alter the colour tone of the image (gradient maps, photo filters, colour balance, etc).
  • Adjust brightness, contrast, exposure, shadow/highlights.
  • Enhance shadows or highlights (dodge and burn tools in Photoshop, for example).
  • Add noise and/or diffuse glow.
  • Add a post-game tilt-shift blur, or apply a motion blur to a stationary Photo Travel shot.
  • Make use of Layer Blend Modes.
  • Use a Sharpening filter and/or tool.
  • Scale or enlarge rims.
  • Remove or modify license plates.
  • Remove the GT watermark.

  • Clean up or fix jaggies, texture pixelation, or colour separation.

This Week's News:
Woops! I realized after CCX provided the theme that it's supposed to be an H2H week. But, I felt we really should do this theme, so H2H will be on Week 19. To clarify, the SSR tracks won't be eligible this week; while they have some clear Japanese influence, they still are fictional. Stick with Real Circuits, Tokyo R246, and the Mt. Aso or Tokyo Bay themes. Oh, and the obvious Photo Travel locations :)

(EDIT) Forgot about Tokyo Bay!

U r probably right.. first impressions and all that. Maybe a 'cheers' next time

Nice pic BTW.

Danke. :)

@bmxmitch: I'd advise changing or at least re-shooting that photo, the miniature filter has the tendency to blotch (just as it's done in yours) when you aren't far enough away; it's a good photo but that just ruins the effect. And not to mention the focus...

Is it within the rules to change the wheels on standard models in Photoshop? Or at least change the colour?
