Final Entry

I'm not the best with photoshop, and honestly this is the first time I have used it for something other than making cars for Car Town. Hope you guys like the idea, it's probably a little different than most other entries.

As someone who owns a landscaping business... that's some REALLY green grass... "outside the box" though...

Nice! I think the car could do with being a bit more prominent though, it's barely visible in the background there!

First, thanks.

Second, Yeah... I would if I was technically allowed to (I think we're not allowed to mess with them once they're posted as an entry). The layer is actually really touchy because of the BG color. You know how neutrals are... too warm, too cool, too much anything and stuff get's blown. To the point though, the car is monochrome shot at night, with a blending property (darker color) so its like the light colors are transparent leaving the dark colors at the image (like a negative of a b/w negative).... so playing with the bg layer is the only thing to be touched... any lighter and the rest of the colors get thrown but the car becomes more visible - any darker and colors, they get too intense and the car disappears.

ROCK> ME <HARD PLACE.

Yeah, I think I may have gone a little too far with the green, but the green originally in the picture had a lot of brown, which looks ok, but wouldn't have been advertisement material. Glad to know that a landscaper showed interest in my photo though, thanks.

If you want to tinker with your entry further you're quite welcome to - I purposefully left out the "You may only change your entry once" rule. It's a PS comp, you've got the week to work on your entry, feel free to keep working at it till you're happy! So long as you remove the 'old' entries so as not to clutter up the thread, I haven't got a problem with it.

I'm not the most masterful with Photoshop but I'll certainly have a crack at this. Just gotta wait for GT5 to update...Ho-hum!

Ejronin gets my vote so far for making me laugh more than once  👍

Oh, and before someone doubts that it's a GT5 photo underneath (hah, as if!), here's the original (well, one of them).

No. You can tell it's from GT5 pretty easily. It's a good shot, don't get me wrong... but there are things like lighting and angle that give it away.

Makes me compelled to make a mock Audi Ad along the lines of "congratulations to the winners of the world car 2006 - from the winners of the 24H Le Mans from 20002-2006."

The BMW / AUDI back and forth in ads are usually pretty good.

Yeah, you're right, I'm not fooling anyone. Was just kinda impressed how it turned out.

And those BMW/Audi ad wars are clever and subtly funny. Last I heard, BMW planted their 5 Series ad directly over an Audi dealership.

Wow quite a few good entries so far. And some good concepts to go with them too.

Moglet - Nice idea, simple & funny.

Vonie - Great concept and pretty good execution to boot, well done.

jonjwlee - Very professional looking and very much in line with BMW's ad style.

Fido - Again another great concept and a clean and humourous execution.

Good effort by everyone so far, but I reckon those 4 are the ones to beat so far.

I'll have my entry up tonight, although now I feel like my concept isn't as good as a few others. :nervous:

I wasn't implying anything was wrong (though the text looks slanted at the bottom because of the guard rail). I thought the tag plate was a good show of attention to detail. I'd have played with the cloud cover (that is the dead giveaway). But outside of that, I don't see anything I would change were it my piece.

Yeah, BMW and Audi seem to think people care about the back a forth. It's kind of like watching really rich 4th graders sling "your mom" jokes. You kind of want to trump them with blunt sarcasm (and remind them that precision vehicles only mean more breakage) but you also know that you'll have to go find something else to do if you intervene, so you just let it ride if for no reason other than pure laziness.

Here's my entry. And Do not knock it cause of the low quality picture of Hiromu Naruse, I looked over everywhere for a picture and that was the best I could find. As some know, Hiromu was Toyota's top test driver and gave us alot of the Legendary Toyotas and Lexus' we have today. He died this past June in the Nurburgring LF-A just outside of Nurburgring. I felt this was kinda fitting entry/Memorial.

Right.. I'm not the best out there, but I thought I'd give it a go. Click for a bigger size.
