Moglet won not only the public vote but also the Judge's Choice award, and so he selected
Week 04 to be a Manipulation week, which is less about visual communication and layouts and
more about actually photoshopping the content of your images.

Further explanation of theme, which is chosen by Week 02 Winner, Moglet:

The theme is Valentine's Day!
"I want to see people making their cars look all romantic and girly!
Wrapping them as gifts, covering them in petals, applying eyelashes, anything you like! The funnier the better!"

Be creative and have fun!

  • Photoshop or another image editing program MUST be used.
  • Each entry must have some part from a Photomode picture from Gran Turismo 5.
  • One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text.
  • When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
  • No full-size images posted in thread; your entry will be ignored.
  • A preview image is not only allowed, but encouraged! However, preview images can
not exceed 500 pixels in either direction. This includes borders or drop shadow effects.
[*]Winner of the public vote gets to choose the theme for the following week.
[*]Public vote winners also get to select the top 12 entries for the poll the following week.
[*]When selecting the top 12 entries the following week, the theme chooser will also select a
"Judge's Choice" winner, the entry which they feel has best captured the theme.
[*]The Judge's Choice winner gets to choose whether the following week will be either a
Graphics Week or a Manipulation Week.
[*]A graphics week will be primarily graphic design and layout based, for example magazine
    covers, or movie posters.
[*]A manipulation week will be primarily based on photo manipulation, for example creating
race cars in game, or making multi-car composites.
  • Winners cannot enter in their own theme!

Being a Photoshop competition, there are no limits on editing. Use every tool at your disposal to
create the desired effect. Feel free to utilise HDR techniques, photo stitching, whatever you like!
Your only real restriction is that you must use some part of a GT5 Photomode image!
The main thing to remember is to be creative and have fun!

Damnit, I have an awesome idea, but it's more Graphics than manipulation

Go for it! The graphics/manipulation sets are for theme selection, they're not rules for the competitors. :) Now that I think about it this theme could quite easily swing towards graphics *or* manipulation. If you're stuck for manipulation ideas... you could always just make the car pink. :P

Also, FKUR, making the 458 taillights into hearts is genius. :D

I figured I'd just throw it in as a Valentine Card of sorts. You don't have to put it in the poll if you don't want to ;).

Well I can't even get the pictures for mine. I'm just not that good at stitching or composing multiple cars from a custom angle... oh well.

Your so negative about the photoshop competition. Your miles better than I (and many other people on this forum) will ever be.

Chin up :)

Kinda against Mog's "less about visual communication and layouts and

Those are my general descriptors for what each category (manip or graphics) are, not Mog's words! I can see how they'd be confusing though. I might have to shuffle the order of things there to make it less so. The theme Mog sent me is in the quote marks beneath that. :) Nice entry btw!

Well it's not my original idea, but It's close-ish. I know the marks aren't that good, but i wanted to make it look somewhat real. It's more graphics than manipulation, but it's the best i can do. And i don't think it's That Bad.

The idea behind it is really nice :)
It looks nice at first glance, but when I start to look into it, the tyre marks are on their own :indiff:
You should make the tyre marks thinner when they are further away... Use the perspective?

The perspective tool in paint.net sucks, and that's the best i could get it lined up too, Also the lack of layer properties made it a pain to get a right density to still see the bricks.

I think you've done a good job using paint.net! The idea is great too.

Another 12 hours or so left to run... not many entries so far, so if you're thinking of entering, do so now! :)

OK, I've just made an entry, I read 'Valentines' looked through the entries and decided the theme must be 'Love' (forgetting it was actually Valentines). So with that in my mind I made a 'Love Bus' So I'll put it here in the hopes it may somehow be a valid entry, if not ignore it.

Sorry.
