you made those silly-looking (if you ask me) add-on aerodynamic curved fin "thingies" on the front of the car look good. That's what ultimately grabbed my vote.

Ha, yeah I forgot to remove those, it had the big wing on the back before the shoot as well but I replaced that back to stock 458.

Sorry guys, haven't had time to discuss why some of your images didn't make the poll, but if you would like to talk about it. Send me a PM. 👍

A little disappointed to have not one vote :indiff:
I guess it's because it shows not enough of the car.

Anyhow, gonna focus on the F40 at Deep Forest :D

There has been a lot of discussion about how well some photos fit the theme. I agree with the idea that in CCCL the theme is always about a car in specified location and the location should be visible in the shot. It's not enough that the photo could have been taken in the location. Then again I don't want to put too strict limits to an artistic competition. With this in mind I'll add this rule starting next week:

  • There must be at least some detail of the background (location) visible in the picture that can later be identified to be part of the location specified in the theme. If the location is not immediately clear from the picture you must provide the exact place of the shot if it's queried.

Just note that I'm not going to delay the poll to sort out the queries. So if you are submitting a photo that shows only minimum detail of the background you would be on the safer side to post the exact location right in the entry post especially if you are submitting late.

Hehe, just one vote for you and then a head to head shootout? ;-)
I had 9 votes on the first day of poll and then zip...
Starting to get nervous :nervous:

Just want to let you all know that TVR&Ferrari_Fan sent me screenshots that prove without doubt that the photo in the poll is from HSR. So even if what you see of the background is only generic trees it is indeed the right location.

However next week when the new rule is in effect we should not rely on external evidence of the location, that is the evidence must be in the photo itself. That means there must be something, anything, even a small detail in the photo that is unique to the location. Only generic trees/track/guard rails etc is not enough anymore.

We'll see how this new rule works and adjust if necessary.

I like that added rule.
The discussion was also going about whether an image contributed/fitted to the theme asked. This week the explanation of the car and location stated that high speed shots were asked of the car on the track. With that in mind, some competitors (including me) were a little surprised to see (great quality) shots making it to the poll that don't fit with the explanation of the theme.

On the other hand it's up to the judge to decide what he/she likes and for the rest of us to vote for it or not...:D

So does that mean that my entry for week 10 is too vague?
I think it's close. The red/white paint on the track together with those tree trunks (if that's what those are) would be enough but you propably would need to tell the exact spot.

I like that added rule.

Yes this would be up to the judge, it's not about the rule anymore.

Thanks for the votes!
My first poll win :D

Now have to get on my bike and drive to work in the rain for an hour, but that's more bearable now 👍 Will have some time then to think about the next theme.

pretty happy I received 5votes for my shot! :)

also, congrats Apperosio.👍

hope you come up with a nice car/track! ;)
