Well poop. I'm pooped. I can't hope to match you guys. The Ford GT is too slippery even with LSD tweaks and some TC on top to do much better than 2:09.820. The F430 is almost as bad and I can only managed a 2:08.691. I grabbed the NSX Gr.4 from the dealer because it was the only race car that appealed to me, and even with a turbo, trimmed back to 440hp, and some ballast to give it some better balance and offset some of the hp boost, I can only manage a 2:09.820. The only thing I'm remotely competent with is the Murcielago, and within spec, that's only good for a 2:08.

I guess I'm not a Snail, I'm a slug. :P I'll just make popcorn for the YT replays. However, you've inspired me to make at least some of my liveries to suit the league, so there's that.

What were your actual hp and weight specs on the car when running the laps?

I assume you mean the NSX. The other two scare me. This is the first Gran Turismo in which I race anxious. ;)

I was wrong. 431hp, 3164 lbs.

Try a spec close to 2900lbs, and 439hp. At your numbers, you're around 7.4lbs/hp. Simply take the weight you choose and divide it by the hp to reach as close to, but above the 6.6 requirement.

Speaking of liveries...

Had some down time this weekend and decided I wanted to make this look a little more like a race car.

Took some inspiration from the Motul Autech Super GT entries from the past few years.

I'll update my livery post when I'm done playing around with it so you can have an accurate shot for the driver profiles.

@llNovall Thank you for your patience with the slug. Took a few tries to figure out your nick. Ow, my neck hurts from all this tension, pinch...

The NSX won't lose any more weight. It's a bit heavy at 3100-ish, so I bumped up the hp to 470 at just a whisker over the 6.6 thrust to weight ratio. I also fussed with the settings, taking what the system told me was good stuff. Do I trust that thing??

Anyhow, after 19 laps chasing my ghost I was just wrecking, but managed a 2:07.986. I'm afraid I am a slug, and I probably need to add some downforce too because the last turn is giving me fits.

Srry I probably sound like a noob, but is there way to see power too weight % when tuning or I need to do math my self,
Lexus is what I bought but maybe I’ll team with someone liking the 400Z too

Was hoping too have time trial and car all set
But my son turning 6 and was enjoying all what he likes too do,

He loves racing too future kgffty2

Best way is to just math it out. Let me know what car you settle in on. Sounds like a great weekend with your son.👍

Rather than coach me more, now it's down to adding power. Unless anyone has tuning advice for me, the know-little tuner. Like, does the system give good advice on settings?

I'll probably do other things for the rest of the night like eat and fun stuff till bed. This hunching over a wheel like a nervous old granny on the freeway is killing my neck.

Edit: I'm a darn liar. The roar of that NSX lapping around Maggiore is making my foot itch. One quick tuneup and a fresh tank of gas... :D

I don’t think I can do Friday nights because of baseball.. but I designed a car in spec to see…. If your a slug what time are people running. I got the Gr.4 mustang to 2.07.5 without running… I’ll keep practicing just because I like the idea and making the cars.

Try this setup
71/76
3/5
31/38
40/40
3.00/3.00
1.6/1.3
.10/.20

8/13/11

200/300

100%

9kg
-50
87% restrictor

race trans
270 kph

medium rpm turbo
457 hp
401 ft/lbs
3018 kg

If you havent done it try doing the circuit experience. Chasing golds in each sector helps.

(Charlie Brown voice) Aaaugh! :boggled:

I've had to boost the hp to 524 on the 3108lb NSX to get to a 2:05.748 fastest lap, and I noticed that I still have 50lbs of ballast installed - which is probably helping more than hurting. I have a pretty okay racing line but I'm not all that consistent, and I can make catastrophical mistakes. I'd hate to try and worm my way in on your guy's fun, and gal's if any, just to be a spoiler for some of you when I wipe out and take you with me. I'm not kidding when I said I was a nervous racer with these finnicky cars, and because the bad physics period drilled into me to take curves only till the tires chirp, I take those curves probably a lot slower than most of you. Gee, I sound like a bot... gah.

This is part of the reason I want to see a Gr.5 class introduced at an SCCA-like club and semi-pro level, with lower powered race tuned sports cars at a 550PP-ish performance mark. Something I could race in comfortably, without that annoying nerve pinch in my neck. I am Groot. I've proposed this in the wishlist post in my link, as well as whining for some pre-2000s Touring Car racing, if any of you want to mull that over.

In fact, I should see if something like that Gr.5 dealy is available in here...

Edit: was typing this while lforceV8 posted his set up. Much obliged, and I'll maybe check it out tomorrow. I should give my pinched neck a rest and eat some actual food. I've been Gran Turismoing all day and only had a handful of granola. My tummy is throwing a tantrum at me.

In case I sound like a whiner, I don't mean to be. I love the physics, mostly. Many cars do some squirrely things when pushed, and sometimes not pushed too hard. So it's just a matter of getting older and finding myself outclassed by the younger generation, as usual. So thanks for all the fish.

I thought I'd share a bit of my adventure with my overtuned Gr.4 NSX.

I thought I needed more downforce.

I was so wrapped up in trying to beat my ghost, I hadn't noticed the jump. Livery nabbed from the Showcase.

Ok.. got some work to do haha thanks
What was weight and hp specs when running the laps? Be sure to tweek the power and weight to a 6.6lb/hp base if you haven't already. Must stay within 2706-3300lbs and 410hp-500hp for the time trial. From there I will adjust as necessary to get drivers into the pace of the field...or as close as possible. Since the Gr4 do not afford any weight decreases, cars will likely have to get hp increases beyond the 500hp time trial cap to reach the necessary concession p/w ratio targets, but should still balance accordingly. But for the time trial, target the 6.6

I have reviewed the first post and would like to participate in the Michelin Pilot GT4 cup challenge presented by snail, and agree to run time trail
To establish my driver specific initial bop/p/w ratio regulations

@llNovall @R1600Turbo
Will do time trial Nova and R1600 I’m average racer but interested in teaming up for the 23Z

Also Nova can u do a livery for me if u have time if not I’ll do one Friday,
R1600 can u let me know your HP and weight for 6.6 ratio and I’ll try to find tune for the Z

Im not good tuner but I want to race In communities like this if anyone wondering why I sound like a noob with a tuning series lol.

Sounds good kg. And yes, I can work up a livery unless @R1600Turbo decides to team up and wants to take lead on a livery.

If you want the trans gearing let me know, I set it so it's more like a 6-speed rather than the stock 9-speed but the car works fine with either.

9pm est

To all drivers tagged below, we will be running another test/tune/trial night, this Friday, April 8th at 9pm est. Thank you to all the drivers who have submitted their time trials up to this point. For any drivers who have yet to submit a time trial, I'd ask for you to do so if planning to attend by Friday at noon. This will allow me enough time to complete the driver balancing chart and have it posted before the room opens. The plan is to test run the balancing and parity across the driver field. We will be running at our time trial location with similar conditions to start the night. Any drivers who are unable to get a time trial submitted will be allowed to use data from this Friday by taking screenshots of their weight/hp specs, lap history, and sector times (which also shows optimal lap times...this must be included). I will accept and enter data for the first 30 minutes of the night and issue new BoP regs on the fly. At 9:30pm est, we will kick off a few races to see how close the time fall in line.

Please confirm your attendance by posting in the thread. First 16 drivers to confirm secure their spots for the night regardless of status.
