. We've implemented methods for more lobbies to be held, at various times for the range of timezones members fall into, and more I could keep adding.Sure, we lost the donut-market to @ENDURANCEGUY , but that's another story

In all seriousness, I will most likely be GT 'active' this weekend, switching between GT6 & Mass-Effect. I would still like to hold that members-only SSRX cruise at some point (& some sort of photoshoot), but want to do it with a full to near-full room, and members that aren't 'hopped-up' on questionable donuts.

I don't want to say conspiracy, but, release of PS4's, new PS3 update, and suddenly PS3's are YLOD'ing every where. Six of my friends who've had their PS3 for a couple years (were very careful with them) YLOD'd this past week. One of them just got theirs a couple of months ago, and it just crashed. I don't know....

There is a new PS3 update? What type of PS3s did you friends have (fat or slim)? Hm... I hope this doesn't happen to me. I got mines from Sony after my fat one died playing GT5 with fake PS2 compatibility (It doesn't work. They said it's PS2 playable... but it isn't. I haven't made contact after I got my new PS3) around this time 2 years ago so I don't know if they tampered with mines. Though, that's funny because many early PS4s on launch failed but only because the Chinese supplier did that.

Fat boys. Slims don't get the YLOD (apparently). By update, I mean that of a couple of months ago. Like an update before that bricked PS3's, this one seems to do that, but it takes its time. I've NEVER heard my PS3's fan go to full speed.
When I was back home, I started using my 40GB PS3. Hasn't been used as much. I buy GT6, install and play. Everything is fine. Try to play online, need to download PS3 update. Update, boot up game, download game update, and start playing.
For the first time, in its lifetime, my 40GB's fan, went FULL SPEED. It was roaring! My dad was getting headaches just listening to it.... Which is why I think, all this, is weird. I usually push aside coincidences, but not this time....

Well, the fat PS3s were prone to go. The recent games like Battefield 4, GT6, GTA V, and so on are more demanding and require a healthy PS3 or one that isn't old. I heard GT6 did cause the fan to go full blast. My slim PS3 does hit full speed sometimes, but then it'll slow back down so... guess the games are too demanding on a old PS3. Did you have your PS3 tilted on the side?

My 60gig brick wouldn't run gt6, nor gt academy. I think the game was simply too demanding for it. My other games still do fine.

The new games are pretty demanding. I imagine they're about as demanding as it can get for a PS3, since the PS4 is now in full production. I didn't expect a 6 year old console to be playing cutting edge games like BF4, GTA & GT6 that stretch the PS3 to it's maximum.
I can also make a lobby today if needed.
